The hotel, staff, and rooms are very nice. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. The only food that looked appealing was the packaged yogurt and the boxed cereal. The one banana in the fruit basket looked mushy and old. The only other fruit I saw was apples, which is not a breakfast fruit. On the plus side, the coffee was hot.

Our family had a total of 4 rooms over the Oct 1, 2021 weekend for a wedding. One room was a king w a sofa bed and one room with two queen beds. All rooms had a mini fridge and hair dryer but no safe. Beds were super comfortable with rooms having individual heat / AC controls. Funny thing was toilet was a low rider - guess as I get older I’m used to the higher profile ones. Haha.

Hotel had a decent complimentary breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, bagels, make your own waffles, cereal, juices, and coffee. Staff was very friendly and so helpful.

My one other observation was the cleaning staff did a great job cleaning the rooms but they start awful early at 8 - 830a. It seems a bit early to start cleaning the rooms however that’s how they exceed at having rooms ready before the 3p checkin.

Nice place. Starbucks, Panera Bread and Longhorn and other shops all within one mile of the hotel. I’d definitely stay here again.

We spent one night here on our way north and did not feel it was up to the usual Hampton standards. We used a digital key so were able to bypass the lobby which is really a nice feature. We were on the first floor so going in and out of the hotel was easy. We went to dinner and when we came back I realized the room was stuffy so went to the thermostat to make an adjustment. Nothing worked. Everything was blank, no temperature display, pushing buttons didn't do anything. We called the front desk and the clerk gave us several things to try. It still didn't work so he moved us to another room on the first floor. The room was not as nice as the one we had and the bathroom door wouldn't even close all the way. The bed was fine and the A/C worked so we were fine with the rest of the stay. Breakfast was a bag of cold items for grab and go. Our bags had a blueberry muffin, an orange, a granola bar and a bottle of water. We took it along with us and had it for lunch at a roadside stop. We drove through the nearby Dunkin Donut's for coffee/tea and bagels. The restaurant behind the hotel is closed and we were told it is probably permanently closed. There are restaurants close by but you probably need a car for easy access to them.

Dear Debbie, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel- we truly appreciate your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you felt that your stay wasn't up to Hampton standards. These are very trying times for the hospitality industry and we are all adapting to the new normal. We are currently following all of the Hilton brand standards when it comes to breakfast offerings. We are patiently waiting to offer our guests a hot breakfast when the time is safe. We wish you happy roads ahead and hope to see you again. Sincerely, Brandon

The rooms were clean and well maintained and the facility itself is just off the highway and easy to find (as long as you go THROUGH the traffic light and then up the hill, which we did not the 1st time). This Hampton met our expectations and was just right for what we needed. Desk staff very courteous. We like the set-up of the bathroom which has 2 sinks, one accessible outside the door.

We booked through Hilton requested a roll away for the room. Upon check in the request was not listed. Barb was fantastic getting us what we needed. She made sure we had enough pillows and blankets. It should be written someplace that there is a surcharge for the roll away. We were charged ten dollars. Which is fine, just wish we would have known the additional fee. The view from our room was average. Overlooked a parking lot and vacant building. The mountain in the far distance. The room was a nice size. King bed and fireplace. Bathroom had a walk in shower, sink, toilet, and a bidet. The bidet was leaking water and wasn't used. We just put a towel down behind it so we wouldn't slip on the floor. We told the front desk about it at check out. The room also had a sink area outside the door. Fireplace was nice. The hotel was very clean and quite. Breakfast was average. The waffle iron wasn't working properly. The batter was sticking to the iron. We asked for the iron to be oiled and it was done, but it still was sticking. The cost per the night of two hundred dollars was not really worth it to stay at this hotel.

I've never been so disappointed in a Hampton Inn. When we arrived, we checked the beds and found brown stains under the mattress and then another stain on the mattress. (See photos) The woman at the front desk did apologize and gave us another room immediately, but there is no reason a bed should be that dirty. After we returned from dinner that evening, I served myself a cup of coffee from the lobby and it was cold, despite the fact that when we checked in, they told us that there would be fresh coffee until 9 pm. When I reported this, there was no effort to brew a new pot or apologize. The next day, I made a point to request that housekeeping clean our room. Despite the fact that we were gone all day, when we returned, the room had not been cleaned. The woman at the front desk eventually claimed that a worker asked us if we wanted the room cleaned and we supposedly said no. That absolutely did not happen. Other issues with the hotel included the Internet not working at all throughout our stay and the treadmill in the fitness room being out of order. A day after we checked out, we still had not received our bill and the charge on my credit card was $30 more than it should have been. (This was eventually corrected.) I called and asked to speak with the manager to discuss these issues but he was not there. I left a voicemail message and asked him to call me back. He never did. Both the issues with the hotel and the lack of response to make things right were unacceptable and surprising. I stay at Hampton Inn often and am almost always pleased with the service and the accommodations. Unfortunately, this stay makes me question whether I want to continue choosing Hampton Inn when I travel.

This is a corporate owned property. You would think that the property would receive a high degree of attention as a model for private ownership. NOT SO. The problems encountered were significant in number and destroyed the quality of our visit to the Scranton Area. The most serious issue was a non-functioning fire notification box near our room. It was hanging open and appeared to be in non working condition. It was reported to the front desk just after checking into the property and was still not resolved the next morning. In my opinion this is a serious issue and clearly a matter of safety. Other problems included a room temperature of 60 degree with the air conditioner running when we first entered the room. Clearly, it was left on by housekeeping. It took a considerable length of time before the room returned to a reasonable temperature. The carpet had cereal scattered around the room. The ice machine on our floor was not working and required that we obtain ice elsewhere on another floor. Bags of trash lined the hallway and remained there into the PM time point. While they were gone by the morning, other trash was piled up near the emergency stairwell. The shower had a heavy concentration of mold. (not good when my wife has an allergy to mold) The lighting on the rear parking lot had a large section of the lot where the lighting was not working. This was both a security and safety issue. The structure housing the pool was badly deteriorated with squirrels coming and going through the massive holes in the structure. It certainly caused me to worry about the integrity of the building where I was about to go to sleep for the evening and certainly did not provide a very nice view from the room.. All of this was documented with the Front End Manager as we checked out. The response from the manager indicated that they were aware of the vast majority of what I documented and shared. Not once did I hear the word "sorry" or any offer of compensation.

Toilet was low to the floor making it difficult to get up. Thin inexpensive toilet seat puts you closer to the surface of the water in the toilet bowl. Don't be surprised if the family jewels get dragged in the toilet water. Otherwise, a nice place.
