Very nice place, super-cozy atmosphere and reasonable prices - quality and surroundings taken into consideration.

Very rustic and classic setting. Food was decent, but not not to my particular taste. Vegetarian optiins were probably below par but good desserts.

Stopped at this beautiful property for afternoon cake and coffee. Had lovely apple strudel and chocolate cake. Outstanding service and such beautiful setting. Really enjoyed it and wish we could have had dinner here too.

I went here on a business function. The food was good but different e.g. I had pork but it was served with half a peach? The ambiance was very good as was the service. Good place for something different.

This is probably my fourth visit to Schloss Berge over the past 6 years. If you are in the Marl / Gelsenkirchen area. The food is divine. I love the game menu - hare, boar and venison. But there's plenty more too. There was an...asparagus season menu this visit. We were offered bread and cured meats complementary, followed by smoked salmon that just melted, again from the chef. Even the desert as a scoop of ice cream was beautifully presented with sublime taste. The service is formal, but friendly and highly attentive. The view into the gardens wonderful. And the lighting and candles in the restaurant builds great atmosphere. I wish if been staying as the grappa selection looked fantastic too. The whole party of four had a wonderful meal and for €160 I would say it's a bargain. Thank you again Schloss Berge team for a wonderful evening.More

Have been to Schloss Berge several times in the last 3 months and always for business diners. The hotel / restaurant is located in a picturesque park area, which is well maintained, and the property buildings and interior are also well appointed and maintained. Food...is mostly German cuisine served in generous portions and consistently good. This is a down-to-earth cuisine that seems to cater more to those enjoying a good German beer or German wine with their meal. Gourmets & foodies looking for the next big dining experience may find other restaurants in the region more to their liking. Nonetheless, everything my colleagues and I had at Schloss Berge was well cooked, well presented and a joy to eat. We also felt that the service provided was consistently very good, and that staff and waiters are very attentive to customer needs. I recommend this property for relaxed dinners in style in groups of max. 4 people who come very hungry and appreciate a good Schnaps after getting some good carb- and fat-rich German cooking into their bellies.More

A very nice castle and grounds in Gelsenkirchen Buer. Walk around and imagine this place when castles were castles rather than restaurants. The Sunday coffee and cake is about all I would recommend, better options for fine dining exist in town

The portions are so small and the prices are outrageous for what you expect from a elegant hotel restaurant the quality is not that great I was truly disappointed with the whole experience and wouldn't eat here again.
