So at one point they didn't let you in if you were a single parent with a bunch of kids . Apparently sickos was bringing kids there and not good things happened. Please the drinking and smoking got way out of hand . Fights were breaking out and a couple of murders along the years there . I grew up coming to this place I still go for the weekend swapmeet . But yeah it's will never be the same to many stupid people...

People smoking while families are watching the movie with their kids, it's like the staff didn't care.

Came here on a Saturday night to watch "Everything Everywhere All At Once." The person working at the ticketing booth was quite friendly and helpful since this was our first time coming here and we needed to ask some questions to clarify. The movie was great and Screen 4 was clear. They also sell food but the nice thing is that you can bring your own food. Tickets are $10 for adult price and lower for ages 12 and younger. FYI please sure you have your headlights turned off during the movie!!

It's not the best cinematic experience BUT it is something different, relaxing, fun, cozy, and provides an intimate private experience in a public setting, which a conventional movie theatre cannot offer. It was $20 for me and my friend to enter in our car. We arrived around 45 minutes before the movie started and got the exact spot we wanted and there was NO LINE on a Friday night. So after we parked, we got out and walked over to the snack bar. The snack bar is very basic and rather pathetic looking. It doesn't hype up the drive-in experience at all--in fact, it detracts from the retro allure that could have been. They have several arcade machines completely covered in a tarp, so that's ugly. The person serving up the orders seemed bored and sad. The lady who rung up our order was cool as sh*t though! She seems invested in the experience. She's the type you want to have around if this is your business and you want a good reputation. There are some old movie theatre artifacts next to the snack bar checkout, too, which was unexpected and cool. But they kinda look like they were just thrown in without any thought about presentation. Enough about the snack bar. The actual screening left much to be desired as most of the movie was too dark to see. We saw a horror film called Men. A lot of horror films have dark scenes or scenes that take place in the dark. It was impossible to see what was going on in those scenes. We had to put two and two together with the context of having seen most of the lead up in the previous scenes. Anyways, it's probably not good for dark movies but I bet animated features look much better.
Yes, masks are required to enter the snack bar. No, they aren't playing double features yet.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Darlene A.Monterey Park, CA724451Sep 30, 2022
Found this drive in from google, I wanted to make sure the showing times were accurate so I gave them a call. But never got answered , there was an automated message of the showing times and I thought it'd be accurate . Turns out the showing times on the website is more accurate...
Didn't get to watch the movie I wanted , but its nbd. Also, I tried to look for the AM radio through phone apps but it doesn't work soo, make sure you can use your car radio / bring ur own /rent their radio.
Overall pretty good experience , it wasn't too crowded so we were able to park in a good spot. One thing that's kind of bothering is that they have rlly bright lights behind the projector screen.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Ashley W.Los Angeles, CA123818636Dec 25, 2021
1st timers for a drive in last night on X mas Eve! No rain for us!
Website answered most of our questions!
https://www.vinelanddriveintheater.com/
Our movie Spiderman no way home started at 7pm so we got there early (@ 6:15) to check out the place and consession stand(inside the building towards the front after you pay for tickets). There are 3 screens they will guide you to which one and or just follow the screens when you drive in. Read the signs! Pay and go find your spot then check out the consession stands for snack, food and restroom or renting radios!
The consession was small but had all you wanted at a regular movie theater for cheaper prices! But you can definitely bring your own food and drinks! Score!!(They don't check!)
Restrooms are inside (did not check it out, so I can't tell you how clean it is but next time!)
Can rent a radio if needed! (Ex: Tesla's) They tell you which station to tune into and you will hear they announce some important messages etc!
Must pay exact cash or use card(they prefer due to covid)
Parking wise
You are on a bump, so you can park backwards (trunk facing screen or forwards) everyone can see the screen equally which was nice.
Can also sit in front or next to your car as long as it's within your space.
Wide enough to leave as well.
Pet friendly !
***Note! Crack a window so your windshield doesn't get frosty! Or else you may have to turn on your car and defrost in the middle of the movie!
***The metro does passby and there are bright lights due to the industrial area behind this specific screen but we weren't too bothered by it.
****When there are dark scenes very hard to see!
**Do bring a flashlight or use your phone as your walking, be careful of the bumps or puddles after the rain!
**
Beginning commercials/ads were only like 11 minutes or so.
Announcer did tell us there was 2 end credits scenes(luckily they sped it up and we were out of there by 9:40pm)
Will definitely come back next time
Enjoyably and fun!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 5, 2020
Well as you can imagine, it's probably been years if not decades anyone has actually been to the drive-in. And with the current Covid crisis, options are few and far between for new release movies. We were interested in a movie that wasn't going to be released on streaming for several weeks so we decided to try the drive-in theater.
Although it was advertised at the gates open at 7:30 we arrived at that time and it seemed that there was already many cars in line to get in. It was a quick process to get the tickets which for Saturday night were $10 per person.
We easily found the theater lot and was able to park with plenty of space between the cars around us. They have a concession stand on site and they only allow one person from each party at a time into the concession stand. So if you're traveling with your husband, boyfriend, girlfriend - one of you is going in. Everyone was super friendly at the concession stand including the cashier who was a riot. They had popcorn, hotdogs, nachos, candy but only bottled beverages no fountain drinks. We actually brought ours from the Circle K up the street because I prefer a fountain Coke.
We also visited the restroom which was spotless. Again it's a few customers at a time for social distancing and the sweet lady at the front was so nice and helpful.
We actually enjoyed our movie. You don't quite get the same cozy intimate space as you would in a regular theater or at home but quite honestly it was a nice experience overall. We opted to bring our own FM transistor radio that I actually purchased from Target for like 20 bucks. Don't forget the batteries. I just felt more comfortable using it versus running my car battery for an hour and a half. Although I did see the website say they had jumper cables. Getting out of the exit was simple overall but a little tricky at one point, as there was only some guidance with the movie lot attendants towards the one end of the lot and it was a right turn only.
Overall, we definitely would come back. We live in South Orange County so it is far for us to visit and probably wouldn't frequent as often as we would like. But I recommend at least once take yourself or your family to try this experience. The drive-in theater might be the new normal for quite some time. Let's support this movie theater chain.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Oct 14, 2020
Perhaps the safest way to watch movies during covid is under the stars at the drive-in Vineland theaters. Last night, blumhouse pictures held a free screening of their releases on amazon with a double feature of nocturne and evil eye. If you don't know blumhouse pictures, they're basically known for producing horrors/thrillers. Not only did the screening come with tickets for two but also free sodas, candy and popcorn!
Covid rules:
Each car had to be a car length apart and everyone must remain in their cars during the movie. They play the movie on a huge projector screen and you tune into the radio at a specific frequency (they'll let you know at the entrance) to hear the sound.
Tip: if you drive a hatchback or a suv, you can open up the back and lay down while you watch the movie. Bring blankets and pillows so you'll be more comfortable.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 2983351189Aug 3, 2020
One of my husband's biggest peeve with COVID-19 is not being able to go to the movie theaters. We are so glad drive-ins are coming back! Even better that our kids can tag along and sleep in the back seat instead of having to find someone to watch them at home.
Admission is $10 per person. We've watched Palm Springs and My Spy so far since movie theaters became off-limits in LA. I know we could have just joined Hulu or Amazon Prime for a month for cheaper (or even free) and watch them at home, but for a movie theater lover like my husband the extra drive and cost is worth it.
They have concessions and monitored bathrooms. They both have lines so be there early.
The sun is usually setting by the time we finish paying and find our spot. We've been to both sides of the property, the setting sun wasn't an issue at all for either side. I will say that one of the screens to the left has the train tracks right next to it and the train does go by with the horns once or twice but hardly disruptive since you're listening to the movie through your radio inside the car.
And yes, you will ideally keep your windows closed because you don't want to hear the train but more so to prevent random bugs from invading your space.Helpful 21Thanks 0Love this 19Oh no 0
