I stayed this past weekend with my husband and my mother. We had one king ocean view and a regular king room, both very well appointed.

We were genuinely impressed by this hotel, and especially how they handled COVID. Masks were worn by guests and staff, and never once did we feel unsafe.

The rooms were absolutely spotless, with great decor and amazing views (and large balconies); both breakfast and dinner were fantastic - one of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had in the states. The room service was excellent as well!

The hotel in general has obviously been recently updated / renovated and they did a wonderful job capturing the classic SB look with some flare.

It happened to be very hot when we were in SB, so we stayed mostly at the pool and in the ocean. Pool was lovely - not too crowded and not too loud either!

Can't wait to go back!

My daughter and I had planned to tour UCSB and Cal Poly and that, of course, was cancelled due to Covid. After a few months, I decided I’d just look and see what travelers were saying about visiting Santa Barbara and what I heard was mostly good. People are wearing masks, no indoors activities, mostly social distancing on the beaches. So I started looking at hotels and found that the SB Inn has been highly rated for sanitation practices. I have to say that is absolutely true! Upon entering the hotel and the room, it was obvious that everything was CLEAN. Nonetheless, we were very cautious and brought disinfectant wipes and wiped down everything- doorknobs, tables, switches, the entire bathroom, etc. all of it. Not a single spot showed up on any of the wipes! The beds nice and comfortable, the staff is extremely courteous behind their masks, the food (outside, patio and lawn) at the adjacent restaurant was excellent. Tiny thing—the walls are a bit thin, but it was very quiet at night. I wish I had asked to be moved to the top floor (but my daughter would have been mortified). The beach across the street is lovely. It’s a bit of a (beautiful) walk or short drive to State st and the pier where there’s tons of restaurants open for outdoor dining only. But, it was a bit much for me. Too many people, even outside. Your mileage may vary. We only picked places next to the water and upwind from people or we got take out and ate outside. All in all, with the constant gentle sea breezes, the cleanliness of the Inn and all of the SB marina areas, this was the perfect place to get a break.

We chose Santa Barbara as the destination for our first getaway since March. The Santa Barbara Inn was an excellent choice, we felt very well looked after and very safe. An ocean view room is definitely worth the small extra expense, we really enjoyed the lovely large balcony. Of course, some of the high touch items were removed from the room, the coffee maker of particular importance to me, but coffee was available in the lobby quite early and was actually delicious. Breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was also very good and staff obviously diligent about cleaning.

Simply loved the hotel and the service. Frankly chose the Santa Barbara Inn due to comments related to the cleanliness factor given these crazy times. Of course the location of the hotel cannot be beat, and the room was impeccably serviced. Even the balcony was swept and cleaned daily. 100% of the staff wore masks all the time, and even when parking the car, the attendant put your keys in a sanitized plastic bag. The restaurant served great meals in the outdoor space and enjoyed breakfast overlooking the beach on a couple of occasions. Will be staying at the Santa Barbara Inn when back in the area. Loved it!

This was a splurge for us as it was our anniversary. I'm only giving this hotel four stars because of a few things that could be easily fixed. But it's a beatiful hotel with a fantastic restaurant and it is in a superb location. A couple of things that make it not a five star: They should have refillable bath wash/shampoo/conditioner/hand soaps in the bathrooms, better for the environment and less chance of running out of it, which we did. In-room coffee and tea. There is none. This is just their way of making you go downstairs to either A, use their restaurant; B, use room service, or C; walk down to the lobby to get it yourself. This is an easy fix and probably the most annoying of them all. But I get it from a business perspective.
If you have a room overlooking the park/ocean on the 2nd floor, keep in mind there is a concrete barrier and you cannot see the ocean if you are on the patio sitting at the table. A hightop table would be an easy fix and your guests would want to hang out there and order food from room service, etc. But for $450 a night, this is not a five star setup. Location is fantastic, one block from beach, but the park/ocean rooms face Milpas Street and it's a cut-through for lots of vehicles so there's tons of traffic noise. It's still a great view, but just keep that in mind when you're booking. Cabrillo is also a busy street, which runs along the beachfront and hotel front, with lots of activity, but it can get loud at times. The hotel sits across the street from the beach, which is super convenient. Overall, this is a really nice hotel, fantastic restaurant, fantastic staff, excellent location and easy 20 minute walking to the Funk Zone of SB.

We came here from the UK in January. The hotel is in a great location with amazing views of both ocean and mountains, and a not overly expensive price. We had a mountain view room, which was spacious and comfy. The free continental breakfast everyday is delicious and high quality. Proper orange juice, yummy bread for toast, bagels, cream cheese, pastries and cereal. Even in January we sat outside to eat some days and used the pool, which was lovely and clean. We walked along the beautiful beach front path for about 1 mile to reach Stearns Wharf pier. While on the pier we saw pilot whales - amazing! We then walked about another mile into the city centre to shops and restaurants. I’ve given the hotel 4/5 because parking was over $20 a night, and while we were there building works during the day meant it felt a bit chaotic. I’d definitely return here one day though! Great choice in Santa Barbara.

A hotel that sets the Bar a bit higher and other hotels need to follow suite. Listening and paying attention to detail to each INDIVIDUAL GUEST is what separates them from the rest. From the moment of driving in, the valet was nice, engaging and exceptionally helpful throughout me and my family’s stay. Front desk was just as professional, friendly and thorough with billing, charges, amenities and offerings also any questions I have in mind. Celebrating my wife’s birthday was acknowledged by the front desk and a complimentary bottle of wine that was placed on the nice dining table with a birthday card, wifey all smiles. The room with beach front / ocean view patio was just delightful! The room was certified clean and disinfected with a sticker of approval. Safe, happy, family fun and recharged. I highly recommend this hotel just because I expect their presentation and professionalism exceed my expectations and they did, they pay attention to details large or small. Great Job Santa Barbara Inn! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ➕👍🏾😊

Been here several times now and have always enjoyed this hotel. The location is great since it is an easy walk to downtown, but not in the middle of it. Recently several restaurants have opened up around the hotel, but the hotel's restaurant Convivo is a favorite. Valet parking is easy and catching UBER is also quick if you don't want to drive. The room we had had a fabulous view of the ocean where we could watch migrating porpoises right out our window and balcony. If you are celebrating a special occasion they provide you with several treats, a bottle of wine, and a nice card. Really like the texting service asking if everything was ok and it is an easy to ask for any special requests. Housekeeping was daily and you could specify a time so that you knew when your room was being cleaned. A wonderful stay and we plan to be back.

My wife and I had a fabulous stay at the Santa Barbara Inn in Santa Barbara, California. The architecture and decor of the lobby and throughout the hotel was beautiful and majestic and reflected the Spanish and First Nation history of Santa Barbara. Our room was impeccably appointed and the king-sized bed, bathroom and TV were first rate. We used the modern fitness center that looked out onto trees and tropical plants and seemed like a replica of our excellent gym back home. Our meal was exquisite, especially the grilled shrimp appetizer, the beef tartare appetizer, and the large beet salad. My wife and I ordered a whole chicken as a main course, thinking we’d split it, but took 1/2 back to LA the next day. The Inn is right across from the ocean with the coast lined with palm trees that made for a spectacular walk at sunset. Finally, street parking was easy to find allowing us to save the $24 valet fee - and the car jockeys encouraged us to take advantage of this saving! Maria, the hotel manager was friendly and accommodating, as was Alanna at the front desk. We recommend the Santa Barbara Inn to all!!!

You're probably going to Santa Barbara for the beauty, ambiance and relaxation it offers, and your stay at the Santa Barbara Inn will insure you realize all this beautiful destination has to offer....

With a great location (across from the beach, with walking/running/biking paths paths) and proximity to downtown shopping and restaurants (including a free hotel provided shuttle).

The Inn facilities offer large beautiful well appointed rooms, heated pool and spa, fitness center, terrific restaurant serving complimentary continental breakfast, lunch and dinner and friendly bar - there's a good chance you never leave hotel...

Have fun!

I saw a few homeless people further down the beach but none near the Santa Barbara Inn. The area around the hotel was very clean and safe. The valet crew is very close to the street.
