This is a short walk to the beach, they have bikes to rent (were complimentary during our stay) and their pool is clean and had floats and some toys (water guns) available for our stay, as well as pool towels. During COVID, they have pool reservations in 2 hour increments. The rooms have a mini-fridge and were clean, the beds were comfortable. The wi-fi was good, my son was able to zoom for distance learning without issue. There is a microwave for use in the lobby which isn't too far from the rooms. The staff was very nice. Parking was easy. The proximity to the beach and the cleanliness of the place will have me coming back again.

This hotel is hidden amongst pricier properties about a block from the beach. Although it has no beach views, it is walking distance to the beach, boardwalk, zoo and pond. It has free bike rentals to explore the beachfront, neighborhoods, and pier. The rooms were well maintained and clean, our room was more like a condo, with a kitchen and fireplace. Other rooms are similar to a standard motel room. The pool was nothing special as there is little landscaping, but it was heated. The breakfast was a menu you could pick up or have delivered to your room, strictly continental breakfast, few choices other than juices, coffee, muffins, cereal. I would stay again for the price and location.

Let me just say the girls at the front desk were exceptional, pleasant and helpful!! However the room itself left much to be desired! Out dated, noisy and the door did not latch unless you pulled very hard to get it to latch. The room was clean with the exception of carpet needing to be shampooed, the soles of our feet were dirty if we walked barefoot in room. We could not believe the window over the toilet was so low that if it was open the guest in the parking lot could see the back of your head not to mention the top half of your body when getting out of shower and there was no other ventilation in the bathroom. It was a very hot week end and we could not leave windows open for air circulation since they either faced the pool or the parking lot, which made for lots of noise! No A/C in room although there were fans.

On my travels around California I've stayed in a few of these very dated motels in extremely expensive areas. Probably something to do with zoning or building codes but these tired old places just keep going.

It's kind of a cute beach looking place from the front. Our flight arrived at 9pm and we already had messages from manager asking when we would arrive as they were closing the lobby. Arriving at 10pm to the lights out felt like we were waking someone up at their home which was a little weird for a hotel on a Friday night.

The room was just across from the lobby and felt like it was from the 60s with little changed since then. The bathroom has been lightly updated over time and the decor was beachy. The room was small and you could hear the upstairs guests pretty clearly.

Breakfast is extremely basic with a few cereal options, a microwave breakfast egg thing and some coffee.

The bikes in front were rusty and not very nice, wouldn't recommend. They have a great bike share program in Santa Barbara and there's a docking station just a block or so away from the hotel. Santa Barbara Bcycle. We had a lot of fun riding around

The best part of the place is being just a block from the beach, so sometimes the location is more important than the hotel amenities. It was fine for one night.

I am really untimely regarding reviews. Our visit was in June of 2021.

I am confused by the negative reviews.

I found the owner, Billy, and the staff, especially Mariela & Gentry to be very friendly and accommodating. They worked with us to ensure our comfort. Billy told me he had just recently (timeframe unknown) had take over the hotel and was in the process of making repairs and modernizing.

The rooms were clean and tidy. There was definite wear and tear but nothing that made me feel it was dirty.

The location is great and our rooms were less that $200 whereas the Hilton less than a 5 minute walk and where my nephews wedding was, cost $350 and the discounted wedding rate.

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We reserved a specific room at this place FIVE MONTHS before arrival - 2 queen beds and a small kitchen for our family. A day before arriving they send an email explaining our reservation had been modified to a different room. I didn’t think much of it but when we checked in they had booked the two rooms of the configuration I reserved (5 months ago) and tried to give us a different room with two dinky uncomfortable cots for our children. NO ONE was able to explain why this happened. To add insult to injury, the hotel was otherwise quite empty. Could not believe that they would not honor a reservation made ages ago. We had to leave and find other last minute accommodations. I would never ever stay at this hotel again. I would strongly counsel you to consider ANY other accommodations.

We had a great visit. The room was clean. While we knew there would not be air conditioning, there was a large fan in the closet that was sufficient to keep us cool, along with the ceiling fan. We had no problems reserving the pool when we wanted (1 family at a time). Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but is better than nothing. Location was great - close to beach, walking distance to the zoo. No elevator, so plan accordingly. No great restaurants in walking distance (a Mexican Food Truck, Habit Burgers, and a couple of fancier hotel restaurants that were booked at dinner time.) Hotel seemed full — you would not know there is a pandemic going on, but a very pleasant stay!

This motel inn is in a prefect location at East Beach in Santa Barbara. East Beach is just one block away and is a beautiful and uncrowded. We stayed in a unit with a full kitchen and fireplace and really enjoyed the amenities of both. The continental breakfast was nice with yogurt, fruit, cereal, bagels, toast and hard-boiled eggs. The receptionists are really nice and helpful. There are several food places within walking distance, including a Trader Joe's .9 miles away. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay there again the next time we are in Santa Barbara.

Hi was in Santa Barbara for one night and booked this place for one night. It’s was a lovely surprise, very good value for money and located in a nice part of town.
I had a last minute request and I needed to extend the reservation for a second night. The host arranged to extend my stay in the same room rather than checking out and checking in. Also, I checked out 3:00 am in the morning and the host prepared some fresh coffee and some fruit. Those little details make a difference. Thank you
