Santa Ana Country Club - Country Clubs - 20382 Newport Blvd, Santa Ana, CA - Phone Number - Yelp
Since this is an exclusive private countryclub much like Augusta National Golf Club, you can only play if you are a member or a guest of a member. The club which is a hundred years old completely redesigned their golf course a few years ago; to a more modern and drought resistant design using a top course architect. There are a couple drivable par 4's with high risk/reward. The course makes you think on every hole I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to play the classic old course as well as the amazing new course.
Since our start time was delayed due to a frost delay we decided to have a snack and a cocktail. Trust me when I tell you they know how to pour a drink at SACC. UFFDA! Feeling relaxed we proceeded to play this beautiful course. We opted to ride in a cart, but the course is made for walking. If I were the caliber of person who could join here I would most likely enjoy the serenity of the place by walking on a regular basis. After the round, we had an incredible lunch in what I would consider one of Southern California's finest restaurants.
In closing I would say if you ever get the opportunity to play SantaAna CC, jump all over it!
Nice golf course and a great golf pro. Pretty good food with attentive service. The club house itself is in dire need of an update. I've been to nicer public golf restaurants, but then again I was there for the golf. Overall a good experience.
This review is for dinner services at the club. The staff must be very well trained because they are always very accommodating and friendly. The dinners that I've had at the club are always delicious, from the starter to dessert. Drink service is always quick and made very well.
The staff at the club is also very curteous. The grounds are well maintained and the interior is well done. Parking is plentiful and valet is always prompt.
This is a beautiful countryclub. I talked to a gal named Kirby at the front desk who was super nice, friendly, and professional. Came in to check out having a party for my husband here and was impressed by the amazing Christmas décor. Great customer service at the front desk and I am planning on booking an event here.
Old school course, old school club. Not much of a driving range but one of the largest, well-maintained practice greens around. I do think they could run the greens faster but the members seem to like them at the pace they are kept. The course is pretty straighforward yet still challenging. You could shoot a good number here your first time out. The course is very walkable. 18 is a great finishing hole, 2 good shots will get you home in two, but both of those shots need to be really solid as the hole is guarded by water on the left from the tee and on the left as one hits an approach to the green. I don't foresee too many non-scratch players reaching in two on 18. The course isn't short but it doesn't play very long either by modern standards.
