She looked absolutely exquisite in a crimson ballgown at the Golden Globes.

Yet when she suffered a mishap with her dress, Helen Mirren was soon helped by her A-list pal Meryl Streep who was at hand to fix the gown backstage on Monday.

The Good Liar star 74, and the Little Women actress, 70, sent fans wild after they noticed the sweet behind-the-scenes snap following a wardrobe malfunction.

In the snap, Helen stood in a mirrored room while Meryl lent down to adjust something on the Academy Award winning actresses off-the-shoulder frock.

The moment was noticed by fans online, two took to Twitter to laud the two women as 'friendship goals', one user said: #MerylStreep helping #HelenMirren with her dress is the life I didn't know I needed!! #GoldenGlobes.'

The actress swooshed the skirt of her crimson skirt, displaying the tulle layering underneath, as she posed up a storm for the 77th annual event. 

Helen donned Harry Winston diamonds including a cascading diamond drop necklace, secret cluster diamond earrings with ruby drops and a Winston cluster diamond ring.

Her dress featured an off-the-shoulder cut with a thin matching belt to cinch in her slender waist and three-quarter length sleeves.

After losing out to Michelle Williams in the best actress category, she later joined her husband of 23 years Taylor Hackford at the InStyle And Warner Bros after-party.

Despite missing out, Helen was still all smiles as she cosied up to her beau inside the evening, happily posing for snaps together.

Taylor looked dapper in a black tuxedo, which he wore with a crisp white shirt and black bow tie, while wearing his silver locks swept back off his face.
