Sam Cooke – Live At The Harlem Square Club, 1963

in my opinion, this is an Italian print, not a European one. as clearly indicated on the label

Giving this 5 stars, because 4 seems too low for this masterpiece. That said, I actually prefer the newer mix (~2005?) to this original release, mostly because you can actually hear that they had a bass player. However, the pressing quality itself is great--mine sounds very quiet after a quick clean. Looking forward to listening to this one more, it's absolutely a good choice for any collection.

Is the crowd slightly louder in another pressing? Don’t care, sounds great, buy it

I’m curious as to how this pressing compares to the ‘85 original and the 2010 remaster.

Any informed opinions out there care to comment?

This is a great album. In this remaster you can hear more details of some instruments, but it lacks the power of the original version, as they cut the audience too much.
Still a great record, but not a contender for best live album ever, anymore.

this sounds awful, it sounds very muffled. Music on vinyl is not very consistent. the records sounds so dull, I couldn't even listen to the whole thing. Listened to this on Fluance RT-85. What a waste of money. Will try to find the analog sparks release, that's at least from orig tapes. Music on vinyl needs to go away

Super Real and Raw. Amazing. Live mixing is outstanding. All about feel and emotion. So damn good!!! 1963!!! Too raw for the day that RCA didn’t release until 85. Must own.

A great album but I don’t agree with people rants about sound quality. It doesn’t sound bad but FAR from a fantastic mix.
