Britney Spears snapped at her mom, Lynne Spears, after the matriarch wished for the pop icon to “be happy” following years of familial turmoil.
“Hi … Am I happy enough mamma ???” the “I’m a Slave 4 U” singer, 40, captioned an Instagram video of herself kissing her husband, Sam Asghari, while boarding a private plane with their puppy on Friday.
She then added, “What’s the serious talk for 🙄 ??? Lighten up ladies … we’re on the same side … remember ???”
The clip appeared to be a direct response to comments Lynne, 67, made to a photographer while leaving LAX last week.
The “Through The Storm” author was asked if she had “any words of wisdom” for her older daughter, and she responded, “I just want her to be happy.”
However, Lynne did not seem to take offense to Britney’s response because she “liked” the Instagram post.
The mother of three has tried to put on a supportive front on social media after the “Stronger” signer’s controversial conservatorship was finally terminated in November 2021.
Although she did not receive an invite to Britney’s wedding on June 9, Lynne commented in an Instagram post the “Piece of Me” singer shared from her nuptials, “Your wedding is the ‘Dream’ wedding! And having it at your home makes it so sentimental and special! I am soooo happy for you! I love you!”
Britney, meanwhile, has remained publicly upset with her mom, claiming that the Rodan and Fields consultant was “the one who gave [her father Jamie] the idea” for her conservatorship.
Shortly after the guardianship ended, Page Six exclusively learned that the “Toxic” singer refused to let her mom in her LA home when she flew out from Louisiana to see her.
Then in January, Britney said on Instagram she should have “slapped” her mom and sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, for their alleged mistreatment of her.
She claimed in regards to Lynne specifically, “My Mamma was on pain medication and could barely hold a conversation in the house because her and my dad split and she was more messed up than anything !!!! I remember her sitting on the floor in a conversation and she never got up.”
In March, Britney called out her mother once again in a post about her film, “Crossroads.”
“Scene in a movie I did a ways back 🙄🙄🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️😉😉 !!! When I realized my whole journey to find my mom … and she doesn’t want to see me !!!” she captioned a clip at the time.
“I know … PRETTY F–KING SAD !!! I mean… Psss I mean it’s actually less worse than what my mom did to me in real life so 🙄🤷🏼♀️ …”
