Super interesting destination! Highly recommend but beware if you only understand English you miss a lot of commentary. The guide spoke German & we only had the audio guide.

It was unexpected fun and an amazing experience!
It was our first time in a salt mine. The tour was interesting and the tour guide was very informative and funny. 😊
They have translated it to a few leagues, and soon they gonna add Hebrew translation!

הסיור היה מדהים!
המדריך היה מאוד מעניין ומצחיק. ☺️
הסיור מתורגם לכמה שפות, ובקרוב הם הולכים להוסיף תרגום בעברית!

We were taken by mini bus through Salzburg, our driver ‘Walter’
pointed out lots of buildings and had lots of interesting facts for us. We made our way into the Bavarian Mountains, saw the hill The Sound of Music was filmed on, stooped half way up a mountain to take pictures of the famous ‘Eagles Nest’.
Then we had over an hour tour of a salt mine, our children age 13-15 all enjoyed this. We stopped on the way home for a beer and apple strudel. Brilliant 4 hours.

This tour is one of the most unexpectedly Beautiful tour you can ever have. A Bus took us from Salzburg. After getting into the gear we went through the caves on a small electric train to a big area almost inside mountains. There were various slides going further down to an underground Lake which is crossed by a Boat. The maze of understanding salt mines and lot of trivia about lives of salt miner is seen to be believed.

We recently took a personal tour of the Bavarian Alps with MCM Tours, Salzburg. This proved to be one of the most interesting and informative tours we have ever taken. Our personal guide, Patrick, was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble for him and it was good that he was flexible with times and locations meaning we could spend more time at a number of locations. The Bavarian Alps are amazing and we would highly recommend travellers to take the tour, it was the highlight of our European holiday. Mike, Karen and Nick from Australia.

Ok, on one hand I wanted to rate it a 5 and on the other, I wanted to rate it a 1, so I compromised on a 3. From Panorama, we had the most fabulous bus tour guide, Natasha. She was one of the best guides we have ever had anywhere. She was funny, informational and oh so knowledgeable! If only she could have led the tour in the mine, I would have rated it a TEN. but alas, that was not meant to be.

At the mine, we donned our denim overalls and boarded the itty-bitty, one-person-wide train which was took us deep into the mountain. There was a guide who only spoke German, but we were all given a little audio device that played in many languages. Only thing was that the guide would talk and talk and talk (in German) and then our audio would play with one or two sentences, sometimes a few more. After a longish walk, we arrived at the first slide which was most cool. On you get, straddling it and leaning back with 2-4 people going down together. Unfortunately, there was no one at the bottom of the slide so when the Japanese fellow who had been next to us on the bus, somehow fell off and badly cut himself just above his eye, with blood flowing down his face, there was no one to help. Just crazy....and another person was hurt on the next slide.

When we got to the lake, it was stunning to see how clear the water was, just spectacular. Everyone was ooh’ing and ah’ing and marveling at the clarity of the water and the moonscape-like craters below. And then the lights were turned out .... what??? Some bright spark thought it better for us to see fluorescent flashing lights as we crossed this amazing body of water in darkness, meaning you could no longer experience the spectacle underneath the boat. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The slides and the lake were the two most unique parts of the tour and the lake part was ruined with this almost childish use of lighting.

Thank you for joining our Tour to the Salt Mine in Berchtesgaden and for the time reviewing your experience. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the time with our guide, Natasha. Your comments are very much appreciated and we will forward your feedback to her. Please be aware that this tour is operated in cooperation with the Salt Mine, and the actual tour in the Mine is not operated by Salzburg Panorama Tours. Once at the salt mines, the miner/guides will guide the tour in German, but they also offer audio guides in 16 languages for detailed information about the history of the mine. The miners will do their best taking personal care being also responsible for guiding our guests safely through the mine making sure everyone enjoys their trip. We are sorry about the incident at the slide. We will forward your comments to the Customer Care at the Salt Mine. Again, Thank you for your feedback. We hope we can welcome you back to Salzburg in the near future. Kind regards, Salzburg Panorama Tours, Customer care

Terrible bus guide and terrible guide at the salt mine. The guide on the bus was very rude and the guide at the mine nevers spoke. He just pressed play on the audio. It was extremely boring and uninformative. With so much to do in Salzburg do not waste your time with Salt Mine Tour.

Dear Carin, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry if the tour did not meet your expectations. We run our tours as on our website described. The tour at the Salt Mines is not operated by Panorama Tours. They have their own guides, who only speak German. But there are audio guides for all languages available. During the drive to the Salt Mine, our guides share some interesting facts about the region. Usually, we get a lot of positive feedback on the running of our tours as well as on our guides. We are sorry that you had not the same personal perception of this tour. Costumer’s opinion is very important to us as we want to offer the best service to our clients. Again, thank you for your feedback. Kind regards, Salzburg Panorama Tours, Customer care

We enjoyed a very interesting tour to the the Salt Mines this morning. Our guide on the coach was Leo who really enhanced the experience providing factual and entertaining information along the way. He ensured that the tour was meeting everyone’s expectations and he was a real ambassador for Panorama.

The mine tour was also educational and extremely well run with a few surprises along the way.

I’m sorry I didn’t catch the coach driver’s name but am reminded of the great skills required when navigating the mountain roads.

We had a wonderful morning.
