Neighborhood: Ile de la Cité / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.

No words to describe the beauty
Jun 2021
Cannot describe in words how beautiful this chapel is — it is truly a jewel in every single way. We had the good fortune of also being able to listen to a one-hour concert of Pachbel’s Canon in D, Albinoni’s Adagio and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons by the Orchestra Classik Ensemble, performed live in the chapel, and the experience was simply transporting.

Even more stunning than before
Jul 2021
I had visited this chapel 38 years ago before it was restored and even the vivid memories I had from my first visit were overwhelmed by this new sparkling gem! Go on a sunny day when the sun is high in the sky to experience the rainbow of colors at its finest.

Overrated but about 2 stars

Best nap I’ve ever had. Ok second best…a ballet took that title. Ok so I’ve heard from quite a few people that I have to see Saint chapelle. Honestly I don’t know what the fuss is all about. It’s an average looking church just like the performance. They played four seasons by Vivaldi and kept the same antics the entire session. The musicians are talented but I paid 40 euro at the door and can’t believe people are paying 11.50 Euro just to enter and see the former church. The acoustics were not that great in there but again, the nap was because about halfway I got bored and had to rest my eyes.

Mesmerizing!
Aug 2021
The place is amazing. The music was out of this world. The night I attended they played Canon in D by Pachelbell and the four seasons. What more can you ask for.

A gem

Nothing like you've seen before. This place is truly incredible and impressive. It doesn't take too long to visit as it's a chapel and is relatively small so I'd definitely add it to a visit of Paris. So worth it!
