Rangers midfielder Jack surgery update emerges amid injury woes

Doctor issues injury update on Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack may require surgery to alleviate his injury woes, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has reacted to the Scotland international’s erratic availability for Philippe Clement’s side this season.

Philippe Clement confirmed that the club are looking for long-term solutions to deal with the 32-year-old’s fitness issues.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

The club have confirmed they’re eyeing long-term solutions and that could be a variety of things, including a longer return to play timeline so as to not rush him back or potentially a surgical procedure.

If it is the latter, he could even be out for months.

Difficult to say if they may part ways with him based on this injury because I’m not sure how integral they do or don’t consider him to the team – some veterans are still highly valued as key characters on the squad even when not playing.

Will Rangers and Ryan Jack part ways this summer?

Rangers may consider letting Jack go as his fitness issues have been persisting since last season.

It came as a surprise to many when he was handed a new deal in 2023 and whether or not he’s given another one this summer, remains to be seen.

Rangers Philippe Clement
Philippe Clement is under pressure to keep Rangers’ hopes of a Premiership title alive.

He’s certainly a vital presence behind the scenes, but if he’s not available for most games, it is not viable from a financial standpoint.

In other Rangers news, the club may regret their decision as Manchester City and Chelsea are now keen on signing a starlet who’s impressed recently.
