Ruben Loftus-Cheek is looking to leave Chelsea at the end of the season and is in talks to join AC Milan, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract with Chelsea but the club are looking to trim their bloated squad this summer.

AC Milan, meanwhile, have already had success with Chelsea signings in recent years with both Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud playing a key role in the team’s Serie A title victory last season.

According to The Guardian, Loftus-Cheek is ‘keen’ on a move to AC Milan and talks are ‘progressing well’.

The report claims that AC Milan have made Loftus-Cheek one of their priority signings for the summer transfer window.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are set to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new permanent manager at the end of the season and reports have suggested that the Argentine has already identified several players he wants the club to keep.

Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, Reece James and Levi Colwill, who has impressed on loan at Brighton, are all said to be viewed by Pochettino as a key part of his plans for Chelsea.

Pochettino is also understood to be open to the idea of having Romelu Lukaku back at Chelsea.

The Belgium international struggled in his first season back at Chelsea following his £97.5 million move from Inter and returned to the Serie A club on loan last summer.
