Prince Harry is expected to reunite with King Charles once again ahead of a trip to London's Invictus Games - but sources say Queen Camilla will not be joining the party.

The Duke has invited members of the Firm to a ceremony for the Invictus Games, but the event clashes with a garden party at Buckingham Palace, and royal experts is thought unlikely that many will attend.

Kate Middleton will meet with Prince Harry on one condition, expert claims

Prince Harry is due touch down in UK for a landmark celebration next week, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will reunite with his elder brother Prince William, or Princess Kate while he is back in his home country. However, one expert believes that the Princess of Wales will only make the time to meet her brother-in-law on one condition.

Returning to mark 10 years of the Invictus Games, the celebratory visit will be the first time that Harry is back in the UK since Kate announced in an emotional video message to the nation that she had been diagnosed with cancer and began a course of preventative chemotherapy.

Since then, Kate has remained out of the public eye as she appealed for privacy and time to focus all her efforts on her recovery. Prince Harry and his wife Meghan quickly issued a statement of support for their sister-in-law after the shock news was made public, wishing her "health and healing".

King Charles like a 'caged lion' and frustrated over cancer diagnosis

King Charles is like a "caged lion" and frustrated by his cancer diagnosis because he's got so much more to achieve.

His Majesty - who is well-known for his love of letter writing - has continued to pen notes to his nearest and dearest in the weeks and months following the devastating news. One recipient says he has spoken of his "somewhat battered health", but that the letters are still positive and "full of light".

The correspondences describe his "determination" to triumph over the condition. One pen pal says they're "full of exclamation marks" especially when he writes about his recovery.

Speaking about his three-month hiatus from public duties, one friendly source told The Times: "He has been frustrated, because there is still so much he wants to achieve. He holds himself to very high standards of public service and genuinely feels he’s letting people and organisations down if he’s not out there doing all those public bits of his formal role.” Another friend chimed in, saying: "“He’s a bloody caged lion, driving everyone round the twist if he’s stuck at home.”

Harry 'highly unlikely' to see William during visit for emotional reason

Prince Harry's relationship with his brother Prince William has been fraught for years - and one royal expert says the duke's London visit offers little hope of reconciliation.

With Harry set to return to the UK for the first time since it was announced that Princess Kate has been diagnosed with cancer, speculation has grown about whether the once-close brothers would be able to find some kind of peace amid the health challenges the Royal Family are facing.

However, one royal expert has made it clear that in their view, it's "highly unlikely" that Prince William will agree to meet up with his younger brother during Harry's trip to the UK to celebrate 10 years of the Invictus Games, and it's for an emotional reason.

King Charles' four-word answer to Prince Harry as he requests to meet during UK visit

Prince Harry is set to arrive on UK soil for the first time since February next week, with royal sources claiming he's requested to meet up with his father King Charles.

The Duke of Sussex, who briefly visited Charles earlier this year following his cancer diagnosis, is reportedly keen to see him again during his flying visit which will see him attend a service at St Paul's Cathedral celebrating 10 years of the Invictus Games.

It's believed that no senior royals will be present at this event, but according to insiders, Harry has offered an olive branch and asked his father to meet with him while he's here in the UK.

Friend of Prince William and Kate say the couple are 'going through hell'

A close friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton say that the pair have been "going through hell" since the princess was diagnosed with cancer.

"I'm heartbroken at the moment," said Amaia Arietta, a designer who has dressed the couple's children over the years. "I think they are going through hell."

"I hope they will be back," Arietta told The Telegraph. "It's really personal."

Zara Tindall and King Charles have 'playful' and 'effortless connection' - expert

On one of his first engagements back in the public eye this week, King Charles shared a sweet moment with his niece Zara Tindall. Now an expert has claimed showed the depth of their "effortless connection".

Zara shared a hug with her uncle at the Royal Windsor Horse Show on Friday. Body language expert Darren Stanton - who formerly worked with Derbyshire police - explained that in his view, the closeness shared between Charles and Zara was clear at the Horse Show and that their bond is one filled with "joy".

"When we see King Charles and Zara together, I get a sense that they have a trusted but playful relationship. They're able to let go and have fun while in each other's company," explained the expert, speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo.

Royal rule that Princess Diana changed for Kate Middleton and her children

Princess Diana paved the way for the daughter-in-law she never got to meet.

It's well known that the late Queen gave birth to all four of her children - King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward - at home in Buckingham Palace. But when it came to the arrival of her own babies, Diana decided to break the mould.

The Princess delivered Prince William at the Lindo Wing in St Mary's Hospital on 21 June 1982, and in doing so, she made history. William was the first heir-apparent to be born in a hospital. Two years later, and Diana returned to the hospital for the birth of her second child, Prince Harry.

Princess Kate has followed in her footsteps. She gave birth to Prince George - who will also one day be King - in July 2013 at the Lindo Wing in July 2013, where she also welcomed Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

King Charles' party appearances will 'be confirmed on the day'

King Charles' attendance at garden parties this year will be "confirmed on the day", Buckingham Palace has revealed.

The palace said the same rule will apply for other members of the royal family. According to royal aides, the King's diary of fourthcoming events will not be a full summer programme. They said his attendance will depend on advice issued to him by doctors, "with adaptions made where necessary to minimise risk" to his current recovery.

There will be three garden parties held at the palace this month. Events have taken place at the palace since the 1860s when Queen Victoria began hosting breakfasts, reports Daily Mail.

Harry's UK visit coincides with huge family party

Prince Harry is set to return to the UK in the coming days, which just so happens to coincide with a huge family event.

On Wednesday, the day of his arrival, Buckingham Palace is expected to host The King's Garden Party. However, it is unclear whether the Duke of Sussex will be in attendance.

The Palace will also host three other garden parties later this month. They have been named as:

  • An event for people in the creative industry on May 15
  • The Not Forgotten Association on May 17
  • The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) on May 23

Prince Harry 'likely' to meet King Charles next week amid his return to the UK

According to an expert, it is quite likely that Prince Harry will meet his father, King Charles III, next week.

The Duke of Sussex is due to fly from California to London next week. Harry will be in the UK for an Invictus Games service at St Paul's Cathedral on May 8. The event is to mark the 10th anniversary of the games that he founded in 2014.

Harry is due to arrive in London on Tuesday and stay for three days, with him thought to be staying in a hotel after he was evicted from Frogmore Cottage and handed back the keys last June. It will be his second time in Britain this year, after his brief visit in February to see his dad a day after it was announced Charles had cancer.

New line of succession if late Queen 'changed law' for Princess Anne instead of Charlotte

With Princess Charlotte marking her ninth birthday this week, the young royal made history after becoming the first girl to be born after late-Queen dramatically changed the future of the monarchy in the name of gender equality.

Princess Charlotte would have been overlooked in the pecking order in favour of her younger brother Prince Louis upon his birth had the Succession to the Crown Act not been changed in 2013. The update replaced the system of male-preference primogeniture with absolute primogeniture for royal children born after October 28, 2011 - which put an end to elder daughters being leapfrogged by younger sons.

Had the tradition of "male primogeniture" been abolished some decades earlier before Princess Anne was born, however, the history - and future - of the Firm would look incredibly different, Express.co.uk reports. The now Princess Royal would have retained her position behind elder brother King Charles when he was born, rather than slipping down the ranks when Prince Andrew and Prince Edward came along.

Patronages retained by the King

Buckingham Palace said that of the 492 organisations headed by the late-Queen, 376 are being retained. One of the main patronages the King will continue with is his heading of the Samaritans.

The UK lifeline supports people in crisis, struggling with loneliness or experiencing suicidal thoughts. Charles has been patron for the past 25 years.

Chairman Keith Leslie said: "As Prince of Wales, His Majesty described Samaritans volunteers as 'an amazing credit to this country' and it means so much to have such strong royal support as we work toward our vision that fewer people die by suicide."

More details on new royal patronages

The King and Queen are to take on more than 200 new patronages amidst a major reshuffle of 1,000 roles.

The Royal British Legion, Jockey Club and Women's Institute are just a few of the organisations being re-headed by the monarchs in the Royal Household review, many of which are causes close to the late-Queen's heart. The total number of patronages held by Charles and Camilla has now gone from 541 to 784.

The review examined 441 charities and other bodies Charles represented as patron when Prince of Wales, and 367 will still have the King, or another royal family member, as figurehead. It is understood a number of charities and organisations which have not been retained were not viable following lockdown or ceased to exist after the pandemic.

Among the organisations to be newly-headed by the King, Queen or both as joint patrons include:

  • Dogs Trust
  • Jockey Club (as join patrons)
  • The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS)
  • Royal Dance Academy
  • President of the Sandringham branch of the WI
  • The Association of Commonwealth Universities
  • Water Aid

King Charles to become new patron of main military organisation

The King is to become patron of the Royal British Legion (RBL) after a major review of more than a thousand royal patronages following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Charles will become the figurehead of the country’s leading armed forces charity as it prepares to mark the 80th anniversary of the Second World War D-Day landings in the UK and Normandy, on June 6. The review by the Royal Household featured the close involvement of members of the royal family and focused on organisations the late Queen supported as patron and those Charles and Camilla represented as patron or president before they became King and Queen.

Prince Harry's reunion with William 'now in question'

Prince Harry's reunion with his older brother Prince William next week is "in question" but a meeting with his father, King Charles, is "likely", a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex is travelling to the UK to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. Harry, 39, will attend a ceremony at St Paul's Cathedral in London to celebrate the event. It is not clear whether any member of the Royal Family will attend the occasion due to their commitments and ongoing health issues.

Last week, it was reported that King Charles would be "quite busy" during Harry's visit, but ITV news royal editor Chris Ship said the monarch would likely "find a gap" in his schedule to meet his youngest son. However, Mr Ship said "the big question" is whether Harry will meet his brother William and sister-in-law Catherine.

Harry's UK plans still uncertain

Aides said his movements are dependent on how he is feeling on any day. Harry’s contact with his dad has “remained positive”, a source revealed. The Duke has sent messages of support during his cancer battle. In a recent US TV interview Harry said he hoped the King’s diagnosis can have a “reunifying effect” on the family.

The Prince will meet up with Meghan on Thursday in Nigeria, where the couple were invited to take part in cultural activities. They are expected to meet military staff during the trip, which is linked to the Invictus Games. It is their first trip to the African nation, which holds a special place in Meghan’s heart having revealed last year she is “43% Nigerian”.

Late Queen's witty response to being mistaken for 'lost old dear'

Each year, the Royal Windsor Horse Show attracts tens of thousands of visitors, and during her lifetime, the late Queen Elizabeth was pretty much always one of them.

The Queen was well known to be an accomplished horsewoman who reportedly began riding at just three years old, and she didn't miss the chance to nip down to the horse show that takes place so close to Windsor Castle.

However, one year, a bit of a mix-up meant that her entry to the show was denied by a security guard who clearly took his role very seriously. The incident took place back in 1991 when the late Queen was 65 years old, and was denied entry to the show by the enthusiastic staff member for one simple reason: he didn't recognise her at all.

Prince Harry urged 'Archie and Lilibet' are key to heal family rift

Prince Harry has been urged to build royal bridges with his family and that Archie and Lilibet could be key in healing the rift.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the UK on rocky terms in 2020 when they stepped away from their royal duties and decided to swap Windsor for Montecito, California. The couple made damning allegations about the royal family, causing a rift to grow between the two camps.

But Royal commentator Helena Chard said in a discussion with Tom Harwood of GBNews: "I don't think he [Prince Harry] will meet Princess Charlotte, but he will meet King Charles. It's a fairly flying visit. Prince Harry is obviously coming over for the Invictus Games service of Thanksgiving. That's one of the things we can applaud him for, the sporting event. And he'll be doing a reading as well."

Prince Harry's 'globe-trotting freedom' sparks jealousy in William

Prince Harry's "globe-trotting freedom" has sparked "jealousy" in his brother William, according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex is due to arrive in London next week for the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Invictus Games. While he may be unable to reunite with his brother, it has been suggested Prince William "envies" Harry's freedom.

Royal Expert and author Tom Quinn told The Mirror: "There has certainly been a shift in the relationship between Harry and his brother William and surprisingly there is even a bit of William that envies his brother’s globe-trotting freedom. William has always been more confident because he has always been a monarch in waiting, and for a long time that was enough to ensure he felt confident about his role and his future. But Harry has become such a thorn in the Royal Family side that he is getting a great deal of the attention that really should go to William and his father King Charles."

Meghan Markle is 'selfishly taking Royal Family' row to extreme with UK snub

Royal Expert and author Tom Quinn told The Mirror: "Meghan will be accused of being selfish by not coming to see King Charles and Kate. Everyone in the UK knows what it's like to have a family row, but few of us take family rows to the extreme as Meghan has done. People are beginning to ask why can't Meghan just grow up and accept that families fall out but that holding grudges is just selfish and immature."

Charles braves rain as he makes surprise visit to late Queen's favourite event

King Charles has made a surprise visit to one of his late mother's favourite events - just days after returning to public duties.

The monarch was spotted at the Royal Windsor Horse Show today, which is taking place close to his Windsor Castle residence. The annual event was one of the late Queen's favourites, with her attending almost every year since she was a young girl until her death in 2022. Today Charles beamed as he braved the wet weather to tour some of the showgrounds.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show has remained close to the hearts of the Royal Family, with the late Prince Philip regularly competing in the carriage driving categories until his retirement in 2003. Gavin and Stacey star's blunt reaction to Harry's explosive memoir

Fans of Gavin and Stacey have been left thrilled after the news the hit series will be returning for a Christmas special.

James Corden confirmed it will return for its last-ever episode on Christmas Day after months of rumours a comeback was on the cards. Corden, who plays Smithy in the series, has recently returned to the UK following a stint hosting the Late Late Show in the US.

His chatshow attracted a string of A-listers who appeared on segments including Carpool Karaoke - and he even once got Prince Harry to make an appearance on the show. The two men are said to be pals, with their children reportedly having play dates together.

However, it seems there is one star of Gavin and Stacey who seems less than impressed with the Duke of Sussex - and once revealed her blunt reaction to the prince's explosive memoir Spare, where he criticised his family members including King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Major Invictus Games update as Prince Harry is urged to step down from role

Prince Harry will be in the UK to mark 10 years of the Invictus Games next week before the event heads to Canada next year.

However, as the Duke's involvement the Games comes under scrutiny, event organisers have announced there are only two cities in the running to host the 2027 event - Washington DC in the US and Birmingham in the UK. The final decision of where it will be held is expected to land in the coming weeks, but it's now certain to return to a previous host city.

Lord Allen, Chair of the Invictus Games Foundation, said in a statement: "We were delighted to receive such a strong field of applications to host the Invictus Games in 2027, which gives us tremendous confidence for this next iteration of the Games following Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 presented by ATCO and Boeing.

"Both cities now shortlisted for 2027 have kept the experiences of the competitors and supporters at their core, building different but hugely exciting bids. We look forward to the next stage of the process and selecting another inspirational iteration of the games over the summer."

Royal expert claims that Meghan Markle is like 'Marmite' as she avoids a UK visit

A week ahead of Prince Harry's visit to London, a royal expert believes that there's a reason that his wife won't be joining them.

The Duke of Sussex is heading to the UK for a special service to commemorate the Invictus Games, an international Olympics-type competition for veterans and active military personnel around the world. Meghan Markle won't be joining him, which is no surprise after royal author Omid Scobie said she "never wants to set foot again in England."

Harry is also attending the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral next Wednesday, which might be part of the reason Meghan isn't joining her husband. When the couple were there last, in 2022, Meghan "got booed" by the public after they exited a car.

Kate's poignant reason for delay in release of Charlotte and Louis birthday snaps

Royal fans have been treated to a heartwarming new picture of Princess Charlotte as she turns nine today.

The snap, taken by the Princess of Wales, shows the youngster casually posing outside next to a clematis plant with pink petals. It was taken in the last few days at Windsor by Kate and posted for fans to enjoy on the Prince and Princess of Wales's official social media accounts.

The snap comes just a week after a new photograph of Prince Louis - also taken by Kate - was released to mark his sixth birthday and follows the furore surrounding the family's Mother's Day portrait which picture agencies issued a 'kill notice' for after spotting that it had been edited.

William and Kate - who is undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer - have always issued images for their children's birthdays but the latest pictures of Louis and Charlotte follow a new pattern. Both were posted straight to social media on their actual birthdays, rather than under embargo to the press the day before as was the established tradition they have followed each year for all three of their children since they were born.

Meghan announcement left King Charles 'crushed' with just 20 minutes notice

King Charles was left feeling 'crushed' following an announcement from his son Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a royal book claims.

Harry and Meghan first met in July 2016 before going public with their relationship in November. At the time, the monarch, who was then the Prince of Wales, was preparing to meet the King of Bahrain during a delicate tour in the Persian Gulf sovereign state.

According to Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, who are thought to be close with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, his team had spent months organising the tour, hoping it would be "covered significantly" by the media.

Harry is 'tainted figurehead' of Invictus Games after breaking 'unwritten rules' of army

Prince Harry has been urged to step down from the Invictus Games, with one royal expert suggesting he has become a "tainted figurehead".

The Duke of Sussex founded the games in 2014 as a way of helping wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans. However, around 2,000 ex-military have now left the games claiming the event has "lost its original meaning".

Others are worried the Invictus Games have become "too royal" with the involvement of Meghan Markle. Royal author Tom Quinn has also suggested Harry "broke all the unwritten rules" of the army and questioned whether he will step down.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Quinn said: "Having founded the Invictus Games in 2014 in partnership with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) Harry hates the idea of cutting his ties to an event in which he has a genuine personal interest, but many people in the military would dearly like him to just go away."

Indeed, GB News host Mark Dolan claimed: "About 2,000 ex-military have left the games, as they say it's lost its original meaning. There are some former veterans who would like Harry to step down."

Quinn continued: "He broke all the unwritten rules of his old regiment by publicly discussing the fact that he had killed 25 enemy combatants while serving as an attack helicopter pilot in Afghanistan in 2012-2013. If you've served in the military, you just don't do this – apart from anything else it endangers the lives of serving soldiers."

Harry and Meghan Markle ignore Nigeria safety warning from US government for trip

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been urged to "reconsider" travelling to Nigeria, but the couple seem intent on pushing ahead with their plans.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit the African country later this month to take part in talks about the Invictus Games. However, they're ignoring safety warnings set out by the US State Department which has given Nigeria a Level 3 advisory.

A Level 3 advisory is the second highest risk level and is given out over concerns about crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping and armed gangs. The US State Department has advised Americans to "reconsider travel" to Nigeria.

Former royal protection officer Dai Davies has said it seems hypocritical for Meghan and Harry to insist on visiting Nigeria after Harry has raised issues with the risk of coming to the UK. "It's strange that he personifies the risk factors here and is willing to go to one of the world's most dangerous countries," he told The Express.

Dai added: "I would want to know the rationale for this visit to what is a very dangerous place." Harry has been fighting for police protection in the UK, but his legal battle has faced a setbeck.

A judge rejected Harry's request to appeal an earlier ruling upholding a government decision to limit his access to publicly funded security. The decision was made after Harry and Meghan stepped down from the Royal Family.

Does Meghan Markle feel unwelcome? Duchess 'fears waves of abuse' as she skips UK visit

Meghan Markle has decided not to join Prince Harry when he returns to the UK next week, with one expert suggesting she feared getting a bad reception from the public.

The Duke of Sussex will visit London on May 8 for a special service to commemorate the Invictus Games. It's been confirmed Harry will make the trip alone, with Meghan once again turning down the chance to come to the UK.

It's not been revealed why Meghan has snubbed the trip, but royal author Omid Scobie previously said the former actress "never wants to set foot again in England". Here, we've taken a look at all of the reasons why Meghan might not feel welcome coming to the UK with Harry.

Meghan struggled during her time in the UK and was booed by crowds at some events. Royal expert Charlotte Griffiths believes the Duchess of Sussex was worried she would receive waves of abuse if she returned to London again.

Speaking to GB News, she said Meghan "knows she'll get booed and get a bad reception" if she were to step foot in the UK again. Charlotte added: "If she was to come to the UK, it would be really difficult. It would bring up terrible memories of the past for her and awkward moments when she was in various churches and things."

King Charles will endure 'awkward and difficult' Harry meeting with senior royal present

King Charles and Prince Harry could take the next step in mending their broken relationship when the Duke of Sussex visits London next week.

Harry will travel to the UK to give a reading at St Paul's Cathedral on May 8 for a special service to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. Royal expert Tom Quinn believes he will make the time to visit his father after the monarch was diagnosed with cancer.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Quinn said: "It's going to be very difficult for Harry to come to the UK and not visit his stricken father, King Charles." He also believes the pair will have a longer meeting than the last time Harry visited.

Harry rushed to London back in February after Charles' cancer diagnosis was made public. It was the first time Harry had seen is father in months, but their reunion is said to have lasted just 30 minutes.

Quinn said: "When the two meet it will almost certainly be a longer meeting than last time when father and son spent just 30 minutes together, but Camilla is likely to be there simply because she feels so protective of her husband and won’t want him to be upset at such a difficult time. Also, despite much that has been written, Camila is exceptionally diplomatic and good at dealing with difficult situations and difficult people. If anyone can steer comfortably through a meeting with Harry, Camilla can – which is why Charles will want her there."

Harry and William 'haven't had a real conversation in months' despite reunion hopes

Speculation has been mounting over whether Harry and William will reunite next week and one source has suggested "there is potential" for a reconciliation.

The two brothers have a very frosty relationship and have become estranged in recent years. Harry has issued a number of attacks against William and a source has revealed the pair "haven't had a real conversation in months."

However, the Duke of Sussex will travel to London on May 8 for a special service to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. The source believes Harry's visit will serve as an "olive branch" to William and could put an end to their bitter feud.

"The brothers haven’t spoken [but] there is potential for that. [Harry] would be more than happy [to]," a second source told Us Magazine. The first source also said Princess Kate is willing to meet with Harry, saying she is "done with all the bad blood".

The source continued to say the Prince and Princess of Wales want to mend their relationship with the Sussexes for the sake of their children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. They also said Harry and Meghan want their children - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet - to have a relationship with their cousins.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's sweet nickname for Princess Charlotte is so relatable

Princess Charlotte has been given some very sweet nicknames by her proud parents, William and Kate.

The nine-year-old royal was born Charlotte Elizabeth Diana on 2 May 2015 but it didn't take long for her mum and dad to come up with a pretty abbreviation.

During a visit to Windsor Park stadium in Northern Ireland in 2019, influencer Laura-Ann Barr, aka @all.thats.pretty, revealed the Princess of Wales referred to her daughter as 'Lottie' rather than Charlotte during their conversation. It's thought that Charlotte's school friends also call her Lottie Wales, as a nod to the titles given to her parents by King Charles when her great-grandmother the Queen passed away.
