Star Wars Rebels season 2 - Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein)

Ever since Disney acquired Lucasfilm and the Star Wars brand, they have done a fine job of rebuilding this world through films, comics, books, and animated shows. Early on in their effort to establish a singular line of canon, they did away with almost everything that was not a live-action theatrically released film. However, Star Wars: The Clone Wars was an exception to that and found its stories become a part of canon, and with that brought Ahsoka Tano firmly into the established galaxy.

The padawan to Anakin Skywalker has become a fan favorite character through her animated appearances in Clone Wars, but even more so in her return on Star Wars Rebels. She has since even received her own book that is also canon, which has led some to wonder what the chances are of her making a live-action appearance. Recently, Rosario Dawson expressed her interest in playing the part, and now some fan art imagines what she could look like in the role.

Renowned artist BossLogic revealed his latest work on Twitter of a Rosario Dawson-inspired take on Ahsoka. With her being aged up even more from her time on Rebels, the artist took some liberties with the design as she has recently been seen, and made a fusion design of Dawson as Ahsoka, with hints of fellow member of The Togruta, Shaak Ti.

For the purposes of this design, BossLogic matures Ahsoka up a few more years than she was in her last appearance on Rebels. Her outfit is much more revealing than anything Ahsoka has worn to date, but the tattered state of her clothing could make sense if in a hypothetical live-action appearance she not only survived her bout with Darth Vader, but also has been on the run and in hiding ever since.

To this point there have been no indications that Ahsoka will get the chance to make the jump from animation to live-action in the future. However, with Forest Whitaker helping Saw Gerrera make a similar jump in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Lucasfilm is clearly not against making similar moves.

With Lucasfilm and Disney hoping to make Star Wars films every year until fans lose interest (meaning never), as they look for more characters to bring onto the big screen, Ahsoka should be near the top of their list. Even if a theatrical appearance is too difficult to manage, giving Ahsoka a live-action Netflix series would be something many would be onboard for - and Dawson already has a great working relationship with the streaming service thanks to her role as Claire Temple in the Marvel shows. Regardless of whether or not Ahsoka sees a live-action take or Dawson portrays her, at least right now it is clear she could pull off the look.

UPDATE: Boss Logic has created a second iteration of Ahsoka which is more faithful to her original design:
