Could Use Some Direction on New Artists

discussion

Hey Everyone,

I could really use some recommendations for some current (post 2000) artists that I may like. I pretty much exclusively listen to 60s “pop” I guess. Specifically, I’ve been hooked to listening to Ronnie Spector (Ronettes) and Sam Cooke in the last few years.

Is there anything like this recently? I’ve been struggling to find anything. I am already aware of Amy Winehouse and Duffy, and I really enjoyed their work.

I guess what I like specifically about these two are their vocal talent, their distinct voices, and the natural sounding music. I’m just not into a lot of the extremely high production stuff today.

I’ve been in a bit of a crisis lately with modern music and would appreciate if anyone knows of anything.

Thanks!
