Ronald Reagan Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse

When I got the summons to be juror in a federal court, I was pretty mad because I have been summoned to be juror on a state court one week earlier...
I had to call and postponed the federal jury duty, so I end up going months later.

My first impression getting to this building was WOW!

After going through security (airport style) I had to go to the jurors assembly room. Second WOW! way better than the state one! comfortable with wireless connection, water, snacks, tv etc.

Then we had to proceed to the 9th floor to a courtroom, the view is unbelievable!

At the end they didn't pick me to be part of the jury, and visiting the building was a nice experience.

On the bad side makes me wonder how much of our taxes cost to build this beautiful building? :(

This courthouse is so beautiful! The security is professional and helpful. Be prepared to remove shoes when you enter this federal building. The mural in the front is really lovely. There is the image of President Regan and the artist's own wife and child in his art.

Prepare yourself to take off your shoes! Otherwise it is the state of the art architecture work at it s finest. Extremely sterile environment except with an infestation of lawyers. This is where all the Federal cases are archived so naturally it is a great place todo research. Just be aware it is not per say, inviting and warm. That being said prepare yourself to be greeted with no sense human warmth. As in not cozy but I do love the display of the court rooms.

Definitely a piece of art all in itself this building makes me feel proud to have it in Orange county compare to the OC court building they don't compare OC building is a piece of S#$t! It needs to be demolished!

...u would think you can't miss this building...but I did!
I literally parked my car almost in front of this building, & I walked the opposite direction away from the building not knowing that was the place i needed to get to...:/..--so i practically ran 6 blocks back to the building because i didnt want to be late for my hearing!---i was five minutes late but thank goodness they havent called up my name...SAVED!---

anyways, this building is very well kept clean..i say the only thing probably dirty about it is the security check/guards. they are pervs!
its ok to greet, but not to give compliments like, "those are some nice legs", i just ignored it because i was already running late.---but i knew as i was going up that elevator..i was thinking...unbelievable!---pervs everywhere!, but then again i was in SANTA ANA!...just saying!

One of my favorite courthouses to practice law. I really appreciate the thoroughness and clarity of the justices that sit on the bench here. This really is a stunning courthouse and the views from the top floor of the city are breathtaking. Highly recommend taking a tour of the courthouse even if you don't have business here.

As far as courthouses go, this one is gorgeous. The piano shape of the courtrooms and the giant lobby minimize angles and maximize open window space.

There is a beautiful mural in the lobby done by a local artist using old photographs of Santa Ana. He, his wife, and Ronald Reagan, are hidden in the painting - see if you can spot them!

You do need to bring government issued ID, and take time to visit the lounge upstairs or the views from the outdoor patios on most doors.

I had to come to the Ronald Reagan Court House and Federal Building for a mandatory CJA training (don't ask!) Couple of observations- first google maps got this place wrong- it sent to the older federal building which is about two-three blocks away.

The Court House itself is enormous- like 10 stories tall- and sparkling new- hmmm... Orange County has an enormous, new federal court house. And why, might I ask? It's not really a high volume federal court. Anyway... Three stars!

This is a good place to walk your dog at night. There's security guards at night that are really cool and friendly.

This has got to be the most beautiful federal courthouse in Southern California. To get in, be sure you have an ID, and get ready to take off your shoes and belt if you have one that would trigger an alarm.

When guards ask me, I normally say my belt's plastic.
