Diane Disney Miller, Walt's daughter, dies at age 79

Diane Disney Miller, Walt's oldest daughter, has died today, Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the age of 79. Miller fell in September and her death, at home in Napa, CA, was from complications from this injury. She is survived by her seven children and husband of 59 years, Ron W. Miller, former CEO of the Walt Disney Company.

Miller was born on December 18, 1933, in Los Angeles, the daughter of Walt and Lillian Disney. She grew up in the Los Feliz area and Holmby Hills. She married Ron Miller in Santa Barbara on May 9, 1954 and they had seven children, Christopher, Joanna, Tamara, Jennifer, Walter, Ronald and Patrick. She also had 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Miller is well-known as a philanthropist and has spent her life raising money for various charities and organizations. Two of her most widely recognized projects are the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.
