The American actress, dancer, singer, and author, Janet Leigh’s career spanned over five decades, and she is famously known for her iconic role of Marion Crane in the thriller, Psycho. She is also got fame for her highly publicized marriage with the actor Tony Curtis.

She was born on 6^th July in 1927 in Merced, California. She was of Scots-Irish and German descent. In her childhood, she used to sing in the local church choir. She enrolled at the College of the Pacific in 1942, and she studied music and psychology there.

She was discovered by the actress, Sierra Nevada, at 18 at the Sugar Bowl. There, Nevada saw her photograph and showed it to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer talent agent Lew Wasserman. With the help of Nevada, Leigh got a chance for a screen test with M.G.M.
