We may not have been able to celebrate this Halloween as we usually would, but that definitely didn't stop celebs from showing off their costumes — and among them was "Old Town Road" rapper Lil Nas X.
I think it's safe to say Lil Nas nailed his recreation of Nicki Minaj's look from the "Super Bass" music video.
Genuinely, iconic.
However, not everyone was impressed by Lil Nas's costume, including rapper Dave East, who reposted a photo to his Instagram story, using an anti-gay slur.
Your obsession you have with the lgbtq community is getting weird. Do you have anything to share with the class? @DaveEast
"Your obsession you have with the LGBTQ community is getting weird," one person wrote on Twitter, alongside screenshots of Dave East's Instagram story.
The tweet didn't escape the attention of Lil Nas X himself, who corrected Dave's spelling of the slur in a now-deleted quote tweet.
"Can't even be homophobic in the proper way smh," he wrote, according to Complex. "Butchering the hell out of the patois."
"Bro I don't bother a soul in this industry," he added in a separate tweet. "All I do is tweet and make bangers. Leave me alone damn."
"It's november 2nd and grown men are waking up to have group discussions about a costume i wore on halloween," he tweeted later in the day.
