This was one of the best all inclusives I have been to--great food, service and beautiful hotel. I liked the location and the beauty of the grounds and the ocean. The hotel is very new so it was really modern and clean. I also liked that there were 7-8 themed restaurants that took reservations. We actually went to another Riu down the street as we loved their pooland lunch buffet. I plan on returning in 2015!!

My wife and I just returned from a six night stay at RPP from April 01-07, what a awesome resort ! This was our 11th trip to Cancun, and this resort would rank in the top two which we have stayed so far. I would actually rate it as high as another resort there which is ranked in the top 10 that we really enjoyed too.
The resort has top notch service, the workers really try hard to make your stay enjoyable and always seem to ask if you are ok or need anything. Marlene was one of those who waited on us at breakfast and lunch, she is absolutely wonderful, always a smile and going the extra mile to serve you. I would also like to mention that Jesus and Javier waited on us on the beach and pool area and provided great service as well. There are many others who were wonderful, but we felt like these three were just awesome !
Tipping is included in the price, but we would always tip a little since everyone there gave us such great service.
The resort is very clean and well maintained. Grade A
Room service- they clean the room normally before lunch and would come back and touch it up before bed time. They would always refresh the room with clean towels and wash cloths, so don't panic if you only have two wash cloths. They would always leave four towels in the shower area. Grade A
Pool and beach service was always good, they actually start serving at 9:00 am and serve until they close the pool area down. Grade A
Food and restaurants are very good, I don't know how anyone could stay here and not find something to their liking, the buffet area has a very large selection of food, largest selection of any resort we have ever stayed at in Cancun by far. Grade A
The only negative about the restaurants is that you must book two days in advance, and they fill them up quickly because they are so small. If you like to eat at one of the specialty restaurants you need to go to customer service as soon as they open at 8:00 am in the lobby.
The beach area and pool have plenty of chairs, so there is no need to get up early and reserve a chair. The resort has five pools to enjoy, and one has a swim up bar, which is a great way to meet others and cool off for a few minutes. The beach has some rocks in a few areas, but there are plenty of sandy areas to sit if you prefer. Grade A
We were upgraded to a room on the 15th floor, what an awesome view ! The elevators were quick and we never had to wait for any amount of time going up or down to the lobby.
The resort has a good selection of mixed drinks, they will pretty much fix whatever you wanted. Grade A (try the Mango Tango or Caribbean Orange)
We really enjoyed our stay at RPP and definitely plan to come back again, and we would highly recommend this resort to others.

We absolutely LOVED this property. We arrived early - prior to check in and were immediately welcomed with a smile and superior customer service at the Front Desk - our rooms were beautiful and both clean and neat. We were upgraded to ocean view which I HIGHLY recommend. The view is simply amazing (THE BALCONY WILL BE YOUR FAVORITE SPOT!). The beaches and pools are excellent. We loved every minute of our time at this hotel - we actually walked to two other RIU properties but quickly noticed how superior ours was. ALL the staff were wonderful, from the lobby bar to the restaurants to the Front Desk - everyone was pleasant and accommodating. I do think they need to upgrade the food and service levels in the specialty restaurants but enjoyed them just the same. We also took the ferry to Isla Mujeres which is the island off the coast of Cancun. On this island you can rent a gold cart and ride up and down the island - SO worth doing. All in all we thoroughly enjoy our stay at the Riu Palace Peninsula and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I went to Cancun March 26-April 2. Our first three days where spent at RIU Cancun, all I have to say is thank God for upgrade capabilities. RIU was over crowded and they so nicely changed us to RIU Palace Penninsula.

Food/Drinks:
The food was delicious, there was always something great to eat at the buffet or the italian restaurant was even better. We also ordered room service and it was in our room about 15min after we ordered. Chocolate cake was scrumptious!! What even better about the buffets was the breathtaking view that you were able to see as you ate.
Drinks were delicious. They had upgraded tequila "Don Julio" and if they didnt have the bottle they would find it. Nothing we drank was watered down. It was all just right.

Service: Everyone's service was amazing. There was an incident where these older woman had just a little to much to drink and help from the resort came immediately. Teresa at the front desk was awesome. The bell guy had a great smile that was just so welcoming. The only problem I has was with Fernando at the villas infinity pool. I asked him about three times for a drink and he would not bring it. Our room was at the villias area so we are entitled to drink there. We are good tippers every 2 drink a $2 bill. He just would not come.

Rooms;
We stayed in the villas, rooms were great. 2 jacuzzies was heaven, very clean, loved the color scheme.

Overall experience was just amazing. The views, the people. I didnt have to fight for chairs. Food was delicious. I will return!!

Girls trip in February was perfect at the Riu. Clean, new, no $$ surprises. Wine, not to my friends taste, but would consider shipping a case down if we come again. Jesus by the pool was a fast favorite. No complaints! Love Riu properties.

We stayed from 25 March to 31 March, our over-all experience was great, the staff were friendly from the moment we arrived. The lobby was excellent, fully lit and spacious. A variety of choices on food even for "picky" eaters like my wife, options where to eat was a bonus especially Krystal Restaurant. Cleanliness on the hotel facilities were well taken cared of. We enjoyed the nightly shows and service of waiters were superb. The Beach and Pool area offered a great place to relax while enjoying the sun. The only minor gripes are the room finishes and furniture which were not that impressive , it is showing signs of early deterioration (i.e. paint & cracks on the wall, sink "trapper" not working, light busted by the shower area, door jamb wood chipping,etc.d). However, we would still recommend and come back for the experience.

We're just in to our 2nd week at the Riu Palace Peninsula and we're having an amazing time. The view from our 14th floor room is spectacular and we really have never eaten as well as this. Having visited many countries and hotels this really is all inclusive. There's a choice of 6 a la carte restaurants for dinner as well as the main buffet - our favourite so far has been the Japanese restaurant.

The staff are attentive and friendly and everything is really clean and well maintained.

Some areas around the pool are lively and noisy but you can always find a quiet area and no shortage do sun beds. The bar staff come around constantly to offer drinks and the cocktails and martinis are excellent.

A nice walk along the beach takes you to the sister hotel where you can also use all the facilities.

A wonderful place - thank you

This was the third time to Cancun, hands down the best resort I stayed at. Food was great, rooms were nice, and overall clean. There was people cleaning the resort all the time, very clean. Beach was rocky, but they had a great pool area. Plenty of activities to do, shows very night in the theater. One of the best vacations I ever been on! Highly recommend this resort.

Just come back from a 2 week holiday in Palace Peninsula and I must say this is the definition of 'Paradise' the best hotel I have ever stayed in,definitely 5 star. The staff are amazing and can't do enough for you. The food was outstanding and plenty of it, 5 A la carte restaurants within this hotel, tried everyone which was amazing!!! The best waiter for us was Dario (what a star) and Ulises (Bar Manager) couldn't do enough for us, went all out of his way to make our stay memorable and booked us into VIP restaurant for my daughters birthday. The entertainment team were the best ever (Luis was our favourite) and activities were ongoing all day. I would love to go back next year and would like to thank all the hard working staff at the hotel for making our holiday the most mmemorable one ever!!!! I will certainly reccommend this place.
Thankyou so much to you all, Denise, Martyn & Emma from England

What a great experience from the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. We arrived around 2:30pm which we thought would be prime time for check in but was quite the opposite. There was a young lady giving drinks while you waited (alcoholic and non alcoholic). The lady who attended us was very nice and attentive. I told her we were celebrating my wifes birthday and she upgraded us to a an ocean view at no charge. We had to wait for the room for about a half hr so we went to eat at the buffet. Quite a selection of food. American, Mexican , Italian and salads with a lot of extras. The food was good and the servers were attentive at all times. Everyone always said hello and My drink was always filled. As a waiter myself I felt uncomfortable when leaving and always left gratuity (which is optional). What I learned the first day is this : IF you are not there in the morning the bookings for the restaurants fill up very quick BUT! BUT! BUT! the days that we wanted to eat we went and people always cancel the restaurants were never filled. So I would check being thats what we did did when we could not get reservations.
The only bad experience we had was at the Steakhouse. We were sat and the waiter took our order forgot about us everyone got their food but us. The food was ok and just wanted to get out I guess it was the service that ruined the whole experience. Mexican restaurant was unbelievable. The server knew it was my wifes birthday and sang with the whole staff and gave her a shot of tequila after! It was priceless. We didn't do Japanese although I hear it was very good. The rest of the food everywhere else was above average. Don't forget to stop at the Capuchino place to get your favorite types of coffees and desserts. There is a bartender named Diego who was like a Rock Star there he was just on point with all drinks and quick everybody would chant his name we were just blown away how good this guy was.
Pool service was good and there was always activities all day. There was no need to leave if you chose not to. They had a beach party on Saturday night and magic shows and karaoke on other nights.
Room service was good we only needed pineapple juice to mix our drinks and we were told it would take about half hr. They arrived in 10 minutes. The rooms were clean and they came 2x a day to check to make sure we had enough towels. In the evening they would make our bed for us. It was really nice.
The only complaint I have is there was an elevator that was down so we had to wait a while sometimes to go down or up. I didn't mind we were on the fourth floor but we were in an elevator once with a couple that was on the 12 floor they said it felt like forever.
Overall the experience was unbelievable, from the moment we arrived the bellboy took our bags up and explained everything in detail to the front desk to the staff to the management to the overall service we ould definitely come back. Great memories that we will always cherish!

We never left the property. During the day I could see many people walking and jogging in front of the hotel so I assume it was safe. I am sure there are taxis in front of the resort. We were there many years ago and had no problem going in town in the evenings for dinner etc. In fact we didn't stay on the property much at all. I would use caution today.
