Early Life

Richard Hilton was born on August 17, 1955, in Los Angeles, California. He was born to parents, Barron Hilton and Marilyn June. His grandfather, Conrad Hilton was the founder of the Hilton Hotel. He grew up with seven siblings.

Regarding his education, he attended the University of Denver and received a graduate degree in hotel and restaurant management in 1978.

Richard started working at a real estate investment banking firm called Eastdil Secured based in New York. In the investment banking firm, he specialized mainly in securing pension funds and participating of institutional investors in various transactions. He founded the commercial real estate company, Hilton Realty Investment in 1984. On November 29, 1985, he got his broker license. 

On July 26, 1993, Richard along with Jeffrey Hyland received a corporate license to operate their real estate firm, Hilton & Hyland. The two business tycoons have developed Brentwood Country Estates. The real estate firm reportedly generated $3.5 million in sales in the year 2012. Likewise, the real estate firm became affiliated with Williams & Williams in 2006. The two companies joined forces for the distribution and development of the projects built in the highly competitive real estate luxury market.

Richard recorded a whopping commission of $3 million dollars in June 2011 after selling Aaron Spelling’s estate to a British heiress and model, Petra Ecclestone. Following that, he represented Candy Spelling and Petra Ecclestone, and the company reportedly generated around $2 billion in sales in 2013. Besides his involvement in the real estate business, he has worked as a producer in several TV series. He is the producer of the 1989 crime drama series “Curfew”.

Likewise, he is the executive producer of the TV series “The World According to Paris”, “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF” and “I Want to Be a Hilton”. The three TV series feature his daughters. 

Richard and his other siblings received just 3% of the fortune from his father, Barron Hilton after he passed away in September 2019. The rest of Barron’s fortune went to the charity foundation, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation as his father had the wish to take family charity in the foundation from $2.9 billion to $6.3 billion.
