Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wife and I have stopped here a few times but this week was our first time for dinner. As a nighttime spot for music and drinks, it has been a fun spot, directly across the street from a Marriott. Dinner was a different story. The...service was inattentive, our server made no attempt to wipe off our places at the bar; her pours were incredibly skimpy and the food was very 'standard'. We'll likely never dine there again; but if you find yourself in Richmond on a Sunday night, the restaurant choices are quite limited.More

We visited Richmond in August and stopped here for lunch. The service was pretty slow in all aspects. I'd say it took about 45 minutes from sitting down to having drinks and food delivered to everyone. The food was good, but when it is hot...and you have younger kids, waiting a long time to get served can be a drain on everyone. I probably wouldn't return again unless I had a very good reason to.More

Ashamed to say this potato soup is better than my moms and anything I had in Ireland. Go ahead and get a bowl because a cup is very small and you’ll want more. Pretzels and dip were also good. Only thing is: food is very...heavy on the booze, so if you order anything with brisket you need to love port, same with dessert. Very strong on rum etc. The places itself is beautiful, great vibes, good staff and fast service when were there.More

Overall the food was good. Service was good but someone needs to come around and be in charge of filling water glasses. Getting glasses refilled was a challenge. I was most disappointed in the pretzels...frozen from a box like you buy at the store. I've...had better Bavarian frozen pretzels...Irish Nachos were fantastic.More

Thank you Sine! We were able to make an advanced reservation for 20 people in a semi private area. I talked to Don, who was very nice and accommodating. Everyone loved their food and the service was great! We were on a tour this morning...with RVA trolleys and the tour guide pointed out the restaurant as a must go place! Since we were going there for dinner, and I had researched and made the reservation, I was quite pleased that the tour guide made special mention of the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed and had a great dinner!More

We were at a conference in Richmond, Va and staying at the Courtyard Marriott across the street. It was late and we didn't want to go out to look for food, decided to go try this Pub. The place was a little dark, but clean....The food was fresh and very hot. I ordered the Fish and Chips, while the crust was a little dark it was very good and cooked right. Our server was very good and kept the drinks flowing.More

Food was okay, serving sizes were modest for sure. Server was inattentive and aloof; not particularly helpful given the vast selections available. My wife's chicken sandwich was really disappointing, while my shepherd's pie was tasty but small.

This was for dinner on a Monday so I can’t review any of the late night bar activities. I do hear it can get a bit rowdy, but not even remotely my experience. This is a nice Irish bar. When I went in there were...just a handful of people within, most at the bar. I ordered a drink from their decent sized beverage list. It was good and average priced for this part of the city (expensive but not for here). I ordered the Irish nachos and a chicken club wrap. Both were very good. The server, Maxine was excellent. Extremely attentive and pleasant. If nothing else about the place was any good I would still go back if she were working. But the food, beverage and ambiance was all excellent for average bar fare. Parking is difficult and much better to plan on parking in a garage and walking around. I would, and plan to, return.More

Every Irish pub has something good to offer and I have never experienced a stale personality within any of them I have visited, this one was not exception. Being such a large establishment, I found the outdoor patio a very comfortable area to drink and...dine, its also not annoyingly loud either. Although no Irish pub menu is the same, there are always a few staples that remain the same, one of them being shepherds pie. Unfortunately I am not a fan of lamb, so this option was no longer on the table, but the burgers and fries were very good. Some will call me picky, I obviously disagree, but in this case everyone at the table shared my opinion of the ketchup they provided. The ketchup was definitely not Heinz, or at least the Heinz I am used to, this ketchup literally lost all taste once it hit your mouth and it didn't at all compliment the food. Go for the drinks, stay for the food, but bring your own ketchup. It is a great pub, enjoy! Cheers!More

Ambiance was good. Food was very good. Service was slow in the beginning but picked up eventually. Beef brisket with Mac and cheese is a good dish but what I recommend is the sausage chicken pasta. You cannot go wrong with it. Also in a...great location. They will go out of their way to help you any way they can.More

Food is great and most of the staff is awesome but when it turns into a night club. Several of the staff need to move somewhere else so peole can enjoy the incredible talent they have and the security guys are there some of the...staff think they are there to party with friends. The server at the next table was jumping around and spilled a full drink on a person in my party and the appology was half assed at best. And she continued how she was acting, it turned out to be the box "security girlfriends and he paid more attention to her than his job while we were there. Management was informed and just didn't seem to care how the staff acted and would stand behind the staff when they were wrong. I will never return because of management and a few staff.btw those who knew what services is were tipped well.( cook, original waiter and bartender and staff also said management didn't listen to them when good employees complained so I am sure anything on here will be met with the same effort. Avoid this place after about 9.More

2/22/2020, 2:47PM, Table 21, Server: Everett. Had just arrived at the Marriott Courtyard across the street and needed to waste an hour before checkin...saw this place and decided to give it a try. Nice old building with enough charm left both on outside and inside....Awesome bar. Seated to table right away as not too many in the place at first. Rather large menu but it's an Irish Pub....so I ordered a reuben with an iced tea and my Wife had chicken fingers with iced tea. Reuben was one of the best i've had and chicken fingers were huge. Iced tea very good, very fresh. Music constantly playing and just a very enjoyable hour. Wish we had been there for night time scene as it was loud and lots of happy voices but we were tired at that point. Pub was very clean as were the restrooms. 2 entrees, two iced teas and total came to $25.98 which I consider upper end of cheap eats.More

Your taste buds can't afford to miss out on their Irish cuisine! We had the potato soup and the traditional corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. The restaurant is clean. The prices were reasonable. The service was also amazing!

We decided to try out Sine’ one evening since it was a few blocks from our hotel. To be honest, we weren’t expecting it to measure up to our previous two evenings of fine dining experiences. We were pleasingly surprised. The hostess, Holly made us...feel welcome from the start. After realizing the table she had seated us at was cooler than tables farther back in the restaurant, without being asked. She checked on us a couple of times during our visit. Our server, Taylor, was perfectly delightful. We had delicious meals, fantastic service and a really fun time.More

Fairly typical Irish pub but I like the old building which adds authenticity. Typical assortment of pub foods that were average to better than average across the board. The high point was the nice draft and bottle beer selections that focused on craft and local...options. Portions were okay for average prices. Corned beef and cabbage was good but portion was smaller than expected. Friendly service. Kids might be okay away from the bar area. Good choice in downtown for dinner.More
