Super overpriced, I’m talking $10 for a hair clip when the exact same one is $8 for a pack of 10 on AMAZON!! They claim to be a small business and carry local items but most of their stuff can be found on Amazon for a fifth of the price. They’re trying way to hard to be edgy with the bongs and vibrators, gross - there’s a child area 10 feet from them! Really bad customer service, extremely hard to get anything fixed or replaced. Snobby employees who only hawk down people and make them feel uncomfortable. I’d much rather overspend at sage sisters that’s down the street.

I’ve been shopping at Pigment for years and their merchandising is great. However, I’m just tired of their customer service. From the moment I walked in to the moment I went to check out, just a matter of moments ago, I was being followed and watched. This has happened to me on several occasions and I thought perhaps things will get better, but it just doesn’t change with this store. Being a brown woman always makes me feel like I have a target on my back when I come here. Not a welcoming store, if you are indeed, actually pigmented.

Love this place. We bought two of the premade plant globes and they are absolutely gorgeous. Now we just keep going in and finding more awesome stuff. Super cool shop for plants and the like! On top of all that their customer service is absolutely top notch and they stand by what they sell. We had an issue with one of our globes and they’ve been nothing but absolutely perfect with their customer service making sure we were satisfied with our purchase.

I loved shopping here for cute little gifts or cards for friends, plus the occasional new succulent for my collection. Everyone here is nice and helpful and the gifts range from unique and quirky to trendy and chic. I could easily spend a whole paycheck here, so I have to be on my best behavior when I visit!

DO NOT BUY JEWELRY. It’s cheaper quality than most regularly cheap jewelry. The gold tarnishes incredibly fast (like a few weeks) and you’re left with trashy-looking copper. It’s priced $60+ but is truly worth $15 maximum. Should be better quality for what they’re charging. Cute and fun to walk and look through, but absolutely not worth the prices. Window shopping only.

How to best describe this place. Women, girls and hipsters all love this place in North Park. Ok guys love it too. It makes shopping for the women and girls easier. The energy is always positive because of all the plants such an amazing selection of air plants and potted plants. The stuff that they sell is curated well from things you would not see at department store chains. This is definitely a boutique, 3000 ft.² shaped like a square is the area where they have transformed the space into a shopping destination for those who are looking for things that are not easily found. A great place to go gift shopping it’s dog friendly and they rarely have sales because their prices are reasonable. Highly recommend visiting the spot if you’re in North Park San Diego and want to see something cool you haven’t seen before.

Such an awesome way to spend the day. The restored buildings, repurposed as store fronts, museums or restored to their original glory. So much information stepping back in time. Wide variety of shopping and all of the employees are so friendly. Plenty of shaded areas and wide open spaces to sit and enjoy munching on the endless amount of goodies you can purchase. Love to see the history preserved in such a way.

Old Town is the perfect place to visit. So many amazing shops, everyone there is always so happy! The restaurants are wonderful and really cool history behind it all! It's a must see!

Beautiful old town of San Diego. It offers you so many chances to look back in history and what its past was. I can say it's one of the most beautiful destinations for anyone who's into history, souvenir, coziness and scenery. You can walk with your loved ones and enjoy the moments together!

Had a great time walking around and checking out the cute shops! We were there when they had a history talk about bloomers. It was so interesting! Stores were over priced, but it's a tourist place. If you like root beer, or even just different kinds of soda, you need to check out the store with the sign "buy 1 get 1 root beer floats". There are so many different kinds of sodas and root beers. A lot of the stores have so much interesting stuff in them too! I didn't think the cigar store would have anything but cigars in it, but it had displays of pipes going back to the B.C. and other old collectables. So glad I went in, and I don't even smoke! My friend bargained for a great price on jewelry with gems in it.

A really interesting depiction of the life in the Old West, with many different options for crafts and dining. Parking was easily available and it was just a short detour from the highway. Plan on spending about 45 minutes just walking around and checking the different shops. Add about one hour to have a meal in one of the many restaurants (some of them a bit more expensive than what we could find elsewhere for the same type of food but not prohibitively so). A good place to stop by in a visit to San Diego.

Cool area to check out if you're in San Diego, even though a bit touristy side. Lots of little shops and museums to walk into. It's a mix of Santa Fe and wild west saloon vibes. Parking is a bit difficult. I'd suggest coming in before high noon to avoid the crowd. 🤠

Very nice place to visit. Lots of shops to pick out your favorite souvenirs. Also lots of nice restaurants to visit and eat at. Have a stil by the Whaley house and take a tour, which is very interesting and entertaining.

Love coming to San Diego state park and seeing all the history and beauty!!! Can’t forget about the shopping!!!! All so fun!!! We were there in October so it was all themed out!! A lot of fun! Definitely check it out

Only visit briefly but had a wonderful time. It was just before the end of Oct so before their 'Day of the Dead' celebrations. While the skeletons were a bit confronting I could see their beauty. Food was fantastic. I would love to come back and spend more time here.

Old Town San Diego is a must see place when you visit San Diego, California. It is a mix of many shops, eatery places, new and old. You will enjoy the old style of the area while enjoying a mix and many different varieties of food/places to fit everyone's taste. If you can stay at one of the local hotels, this will be a plus so you can wake up in the morning and roam around this awesome place.

Love, love, love this park. I felt like I was in another country. Highly recommend to anyone traveling through San Diego. We were only there for a day and spent the morning walking around the park. Hopefully will return one day and visit more of the museums.

Great place to spend the evening! Friday evenings are very happening with live music and lots of tourists crowd! Parking is very limited though! Tacos are great from street tacos place! There are tons of souvenirs you can pick up from the many stores here! Must place to visit!

Love visiting and showing my friends when they are visiting me in SD, its one of the go to place to show around and also to eat Mexican food and do little shopping if interested in Mexican style of clothing, pottery, skeletons, toys and so on. I've been in SD for 40 years and never visited Fred's. Best food I've ever had in Old Town. They have a 2 taco special with rice and pinto or black beans for like 16 bucks. The rice and black beans were very tasty, unlike the other restaurants. I'm definitely going back. Love the decor.

Nice park close to our hotel. Only a 5 min walk. Although a lot of tourists of course, but worth a visit. We've also been there for a Mexican dinner in a very nice Mexican restaurant. All thumbs up.

Kitschy and cute shoos and stores, Mexican, Sicilian,and seafood restaurants with casual atmospheres, outdoor booths and stalls, historic museums with people dressed up in historic costumes, beautiful plants and the old town theatre... Top it off with the Whaley ghost house and museum and you’ve got an amazing Saturday in old town. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – it’s incredible how much San Diego values its history. I hope the city continues to share these treasures and experiences with visitors and residence… for free. ❤️👍🏼👏🏽

We absolutely love working with We Olive! They have the best customer service and are extremely knowledgeable about the products they have in stock. The Wine Bar is a very cute spot with beautiful views and the food is delicious! Be sure to try their cheese board. Highly recommend you check them out soon!

Perfect quaint spot with ocean view close to beach. Delicious olives and cheeseboard. They have a nice wine list. Perfect place for a mid-day appetizer. The service was great and friendly. On the way out, we met Jessica, and she was lovely! We love this place.. fabulous!

Very nice place absolutely you have to see The food is also delicious. You're not going to get dinner here but it's a great spot for a drink or appetizers while watching the sunset over the ocean.This spot had the best atmosphere, service and food/wine selection. We are so excited to return one day!! Strongly recommended.

This place could have been so much better if it wasn’t for the elusive waiting list to get an outdoor seat. We asked to sit outside, but as people walked in they were guided to sit outside, leaving us sitting inside… feeling a bit cast aside… go figure… there was nothing on the website about this elite platinum wait list. The food seemed nice, there was no wine tasting despite the details on the website. Don’t ask a server about the complimentary olive oil or vintages tasting, they don’t care….

We Olive is an interesting mix of wine and olive oil. Expect lots of solid wine choices and creative olive oil blends. My biggest gripe is that it's not very possible to buy tasters of the oils so you'll have to commit to a full bottle. That's probably okay, because the oil is good and not very overpriced.

A perfect place to stop for wine while in La Jolla! We were shopping and stepped inside to see this shop, noticed the wine bar in the back, and decided to stop and enjoy some wine and bread. Lovely, quiet patio with helpful staff. We didn’t order any food other than the bread and dipping oil so I can’t speak to the rest of the menu, but the bread and olive oil were excellent, as was the wine.

Went here on a Friday night for a small plate of food and a bottle of wine. Closing time is advertised as 9pm. Sat at 8pm and were told we couldn’t have food. Had one glass of wine while we searched for an alternative still serving food. Now it’s 8:30pm and we’re next door. Don’t be in the service industry if you don’t want to serve!

We spent the afternoon here enjoying the wine and views! The wine was excellent and the staff does a great job with recommendations! We got the bread and oil to snack on and it was also delicious! Very peaceful. The store was cool as well, so many different olive oils. If we wouldn't have been flying we would have bought some. Definitely worth checking out!

We were looking for a dessert place that wasn't ice cream. We found The Elegant Truffle on Yelp and they were closing in 20 minutes. It was a short walk. Their desserts looked wonderful. I got a piece of The Evil One, which is basically a coconut cream cake. It was incredible. My wife got a piece of carrot cake that is made with pineapple instead of raisins. She enjoyed it over two days. In the short time we were there, this seems like a take it to go place as we saw no seating, which was not a problem. They boxed up each dessert, provided us with forks, and a carry out bag. They have lots of chocolate based desserts as well, both cakes and truffles.

One of our fave places to stop by on Shelter Island. We love the OMG cake, and the truffles are really good too. There are some benches outside if you want to eat your treat there, otherwise take it down to the waterfront/marina which is a shirt walk away.

The cakes and truffles are all great and they don't skimp out on flavor or size. Jennifer is friendly and helped me out with my order. Can't go wrong asking her for some advice. She makes you feel welcome, like you've been coming to her shop forever. The shop offers unique flavors as well as tried and true. Some of the flavors offered (at the time of this review) ginger, raspberry, espresso, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, Jameson, rum, champagne, and more.

This place is amazing. The owner is so friendly and cares about service. I haven't been able the past couple of years to get back to SD, so called and placed an order to ship. She was so prompt and we got the order exactly when stated and in excellent shape. And the flavors were what we remembered! Thank you!!

Not only did I think about the caramel for over a year before I was able to return to purchase more, but they were even better than I remembered them being. These are by far the best chocolate of any kind I’ve even had in my life. The owner was nice enough to ask us our wedding colors so she could decorate the bags the chocolates came in with colored ribbon for our wedding gift bags and it made it very special for us. Every time we are in San Diego I will be back. See you soon I hope!

This shop is DREAMY!!! I love it!!! But, every item contains DAIRY...there may be one "non-diary bar" but it's not consistency available. This shop produces beautiful work and people are eating it...without realizing they are eating animal cruelty while clogging their arteries and contributing to climate change. Non-dairy chocolates that taste like dairy-based chocolates are very possible today...it would be so nice!!! What a great business opportunity it would be!!

Jennifer and her team are wonderful. My girlfriend and I stopped by a couple months ago when we were in the area since you never seen any local chocolatiers anymore. I am dairy free which limits me almost everywhere but Jennifer was so kind and offered me a beautiful blueberry lemon angel food cake and some Belgian dark chocolate. Both were very delicious. My girlfriend really enjoyed the chocolates she got and said the brownie was to die for. Highly recommend stopping in to talk with Jennifer. She is very passionate about providing the highest quality desserts and coffee drinks.

Love this place every time I go and I always try to bring my friends here who haven't been before. No one is sorry they've come haha! Yummy chocolate truffles and cakes, as well as assorted scones and cookies. All made fresh on the premises by the owner.

Jennifer does an amazing job! From her key lime tart, to the evil one (cake), to her chocolate strawberries, everything tastes delightful. My husband isn't a big sweets person, but he will eat anything that Jennifer makes. Please order a cake, or a tart from her! Very packed on weekends with a tricky parking situation. First and foremost, bring time, chances are you'll need time to find something. Other than that, a rich environment of vendors with historical buildings and a unique experience. Prices are reasonable, but slightly higher than usual because the whole area is focused on tourists buying souvenirs. Live music, great restaurants, and history all in one place.

Old town market was so fun and neat to experience! Plenty of options for shopping and seeing cool things! Everyone was friendly and a very neat restaurant in the center of it all! You have to stop and try the free tortilla! They were the best I’ve ever had! Picked up a lot of nicknacks and what not! I will definitely come back here once in the area again!

Overall really nice and huge! Lots of local vendors and huge discounts as well! Food can be a little pricey but it’s a nice place to come and walk. The only downside is that most of the museums are still closed for some reason.

A nice historical market with a lot of different things, toys, souvenirs, clothes and much more. It is quite big, so have more time if you know you want to buy something there. They also have cats there, alive, guarding the store. 🐈😄

All kinds of stores too. Many restaurants and snack bars to choose from. Restrooms located throughout the entire place. Free parking in different lots. You can do a city tour in a trolley. Free museums. Worth another visit.

It was my first time in town and while taking the trolley tour I stopped by this market. It’s a nice and small local market but stuff is quite expensive. You can definitely go for window shopping :)

The friendliest store around! Lots of great products with none expired. They somehow beautifully fit just about anything you could need. Very clean too. But the best part is the lovely staff. They are so kind and helpful.

Amazing we went on the hop-on hop off trolley it was the best if you like sightseeing this is the ride for you would definitely recommend 10 out of 10 Love it. This was the first stop and it was beautiful very family-oriented or if your just a single person wanting to go. Would just definitely recommend.

There's a lot of history to explore here, but I was not able to see everything. I recommend two days if you want to explore everything. Parking is free here. The Hop-On-Hop-Off Trolley Tours starts and ends here, which I also recommend doing their two-day tour. There are multiple places to shop for different items. I will definitely come back to explore the rest of Old Town and try some of the food places in the area.

This place is fantastic! The items & employees are one of a kind & worth the trip. On top of all that... the proceeds go to support the local animal shelter. Quality items, great people, & profits that support a worthy cause... all the right ingredients for a great shopping experience.

Good grocery store carrying all of the essentials. The aisles are clean and the staff was friendly. Prices are as comparable to any other grocery chain do it is a convenient choice if you live nearby. It will get busy on the weekends.

In La Jolla from the UK for a week. We rented a house so we could self cater for some meals and used Pavilions for our groceries. Spacious and clean store with a lovely fruit and veg section. Check out staff very pleasant, especially the nice lady from Dublin. And special mention for Marty who helped us out in the wine section one day and the spotted us a couple of days later and came to say hello. Nearly a 5 star rating but fresh bread was a little disappointing if, as we did, you wanted just a couple of rolls.

Tonight to walk into the store I had to pass a group of 3 homeless gentlemen drinking beers, urinating on the wall, playing guitar, belching extremely loudly. This directly on the corner of the building on the main road of torrey pines. a security guard was stumbling around the parking lot but didn’t seem to concerned at the group hassling customers as they walked past. Very disappointed at what pavilions allows on their property at 6pm on the busiest intersection in La Jolla. I was so disgusted from the urine and belching and smell that I forgot even what I was going to buy in the store.

Fabulous and friendly!! Very organized, tidy store with amazing selection and great prices. We loved the fresh produce and deli selection. Staff were lovely and knowledgeable and have a sense of humor making our shopping experience even more enjoyable:) Thanks guys we'll be back!

Gotta love Vons. You have to know what to get there. I really like the sushi! The freezer section is good and they have all the basics for cheaper than other places. I still get my produce from whole foods but Vons is a great place to get all of your other goods from.

Pavilions is a Vons but a little fancier 😊 Good selection of goods. They added 3 more self-checkout stalls for a total of 9. Store is always clean. Parking can be rough during mid-day on weekdays.

Most of the time very friendly staff but today there was something off. The cashier was ignoring me while talking to a coworker then walked off while I was trying to pay for my groceries. Then screamed at another customer for doing nothing but saying hello. Still a good place to shop tomorrow hopefully but be careful if you are looking to be treated well.

The deli here at Vons made me an excellent sandwich(French roll- with turkey, Swiss, veggies mayo and mustard). How ever customer service could use some work. Didn't get greeted. No estimated wait... and took forever to help another customer and myself separately

Wonderful book store with wonderful staff. They have a great selection of many genres and even a great selection of popular children's books. It doesn't end there. Also, there are painting accessories, high-end pens, and other interesting hobby items for artists or crafting enthusiasts. Overall, it's a great store with many ways to entertain a slow, relaxing summer day.

We love the fun selections here. We have counted on coming here for over ten years for books, office accessories, cards, small gifts. We especially love the organized and super fun kids section for books and character stuffed animals.

This is one of the oldest bookshops in San Diego. It has over 100 years of history. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I had a very interesting conversation about pens at the pen counter. The staff goes out of their way to help you find a hard to find book and will walk you over to where it's located. This kind of personalized service makes establishments like this a rare gem. And keeps people coming back. I love seeing what books the staff recommend; they are always on display. They always feature author signings and they don't just have books, there's a fair selection of gifts, toys, stationery, and art supplies at reasonable prices.

Warwick's is a bookstore lover's paradise, and more. The book selection is not large, but you can find a little of everything, and the selection of coffee table books is impressive. But there's so much more! If you're looking for fountain pens and iroshizuku or jacques herbin inks in a dizzying array of colors, or perhaps rollerball or ballpoint pens (from the very inexpensive to the fancy gift kind), you've come to the right place. The staff is friendly, the store beautifully arranged, the selection creative and extensive; in short, Warwick's is worth a visit (or two or three) next time you're in La Jolla!

Great collection of books, great and friendly staff, the cutest bookstore in the neighborhood!

Lots of stock, some knowledgeable and helpful staff, as long as you come at the right time and counter. Definitely not what I was expecting from all the research online. Was hoping to find older and rarer books, but seems they've mostly evolved to slot into the Barns and Noble or Borders sort of niche with a wider array of stationary. Not bad by all means, just not what we were expecting and planning on.

This place is a local gem and was already busy the moment they opened. It's a great resource for the gaming community with a robust selection of cards and table top gaming supplies as well as RPG books. The owners were fun and knowledgeable.

Wife and I were stoked to find this place. Games are in alphabetical order which is super helpful. Prices aren't too bad. My only complaint is the hours were way wrong and when we got there instead of having hours to browse and buy we had minutes.

Multiple employees absolutely refuse to sell Pokémon product because, as one employee on staff said, he "doesn't understand it", despite prices listed and product on the shelves and in display cases. 🙃 Absolutely baffling and has happened multiple times. HOWEVER. If you can get the lady who really knows the Pokémon counter (and she can be hard to run into!) then you'll have a great time. Shame she's the only one.

My teenage son and his friends had a blast at the Magic tournament they have Friday nights. My brother used to do the same thing (and D&D) when they were located in Mission Valley in the 90s. Great selection of items and friendly staff.

Good table space, good set of terrain for wargaming. The markup on some of the items makes it hard to buy anything on the spot, but in this economy what are you going to do? Pretty limited selection of singles for TCGs, but they seem to have some of the staples. Great selection overall. Never had an issue with staff, very nice bathroom. Lots of food nearby.

Great store run by great people. I never miss a visit here when I'm in San Diego. They always have different things going on. They have tables where you can just go in and play games. You can meet up with friends and hang out and play games. They have some games available for people to play but most of these are older/less popular games...mostly people bring their own games. There are also a lot of people working on painting their warhammer figures. They have tons of games for sale (which you can buy and go right over to the tables and start playing). I have read reviews of people complaining about their prices...i dont feel it is fair to compare a brick and mortar stores prices to prices you can find on Amazon. Yes, you can generally find cheaper prices online...and then you have to wait for it to be shipped. The people that own this store and the people that work here are GAMERS. They LOVE games. They can help you find games that you will enjoy if you talk to them. Sometimes, being human and all, they might be distracted or doing work related things you dont realize has their attention...but if you just say "hey, can you help me" they will be happy to. You cant do that on Amazon...and shopping on Amazon you also wont have any chance encounters with famous gamers like Wil Wheaten...and you definitely wont meet new gamer friends shopping on Amazon. This is a store to hang out in and have fun. Food isnt allowed, but they do sell some badic snackage and theres an Arbys nearby. They also have a bathroom available for when you are there playing games.

Pangaea Outpost was an interesting find during our visit to Pacific Beach San Diego area. It’s basically a ginormous group of Boutiques under one roof. I loved the idea of shopping in so many boutiques all at the same time. However, the only problem was there were way too many items I wanted to see prices for on items inside locked cabinets in tons of different fixtures set throughout the establishment among the different boutiques. I had a really hard time finding someone to help me track down the keys to all the many cases I wanted to look inside. I had to just decide not to look at some pieces. It wasn’t the easiest shopping experience. Aside from that I felt the staff was friendly & helpful, they even wrapped my gifts 🎁 But had I not opened them when I returned home prior giving them to my friends they would have received the presents I bought w/the price tags still on them. They’d blacked out the $ amount on 1 side but forgot to check the opposite side. At any rate I caught the problem on the most important present so it was fine. My favorite part of shopping Pangaea was the jewelry selection in natural stones, the $’s were fantastic. It was also a short walk from our hotel so that was convenient as well. I have respect for the artisans who sell their work here I felt it is a great showcase for all types of retail. Thank You Pangaea for a unique shopping experience!🤩

Super cool shop! This was the ultimate consignment / retail store I've been to! From old records to custom clothing, this place had it all. Definitely worth wasting a few minutes in just to pass the time, but be warned you will end up buying something, there's just so much good stuff. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Typically I don’t do these kind of negative reviews because I work in retail, and understand everyone has their bad days. My family and I have been visiting san diego for the last week and have came in twice because we loved the merchandise at this store. However, the staff was rude both days, and all of us noticed how unfriendly the young woman were… Wish I knew names because this store has so much charm and they ruined it. I saw in some of the reviews that other people have agreed. Maybe its time to work on being helpful, and making customers feel comfortable.

I was on vacation in San Diego and stopped into this cute shop. I purchased a necklace in a locked up case. I was told that the sale was final, which is fine as I loved my purchase so why would I return it. I got home and a week later the tail broke right off. I was devastated. I understand that it's final sale but I didn't even have this 1 week. You would think that the store would stand behind what they sell. Unfortunately, I'm told that without a receipt and being final sale they can't do anything for me. I do have a credit card statement proving the purchase. Alas, I will not be returning there and would warn against buying anything final sale from there as their products may not hold up. The necklace tarnished after 2 weeks

This store was so cool and filled with treasures. They are also reasonably priced and sell a huge assortment of clothes, jewelry, household items, shoes, etc. I loved walking through here! I ended up buying my new favorite headband here. The only thing I would say the employees give off the “do you have enough money to shop here” kind of vibe, I wasn’t approached or asked if I was finding everything okay. Definitely not a warm welcome but the merchandise was very cool.

Great place in P.B. with 70 diverse shops including many local artisans. My wife and I hadn't planned on buying anything when we went in but we both came out with purchases and I went back the following day to get a couple of items I had looked at on my first visit.

Overwhelming. So much stuff crowded in there, but it's mostly really cool stuff and I love that it's local people selling their products they make, however some are way too high priced and some are affordable still pricey but good gifts. Today may have been an unusual day, but the lines to check out were insane and the cashiers took forever.

This store is a haven for enjoyable gifts and stylish clothing. It's like having multiple stores in one, with an abundance of options for both men and women. I highly recommend taking the time to explore and discover everything this store has to offer. They have an impressive selection of clothing, unique gifts, books, plants, and much more. The inventory is constantly updated with new items. Although parking can be challenging on Garnet Ave, it's usually not an issue during the week. While you might end up spending a bit more money, the quality and experience make it well worth it.

This store is awesome for fun gifts and clothing. It’s multiple stores in one and they have plenty to choose from for both men and women. I’d highly suggest swinging through and checking out all this store has to offer. Great clothing, random gifts, books, plants, you name it. They always have new stuff too. Parking can be tough because it’s on garnet Ave but during the week no problem. You might spend a little more money but it’s worth it.

Drove 30minutes here on Labor Day because their google and yelp said they were open. Turns out they are closed would have been nice to save some time and gas driving over here if they would simply manage their online hours better. Amp Draw hobbies in Encinitas said they were open online and they were in fact open! Hopefully this place can do better in the future to help prevent customers from wasting their time and money driving over here.

Probably San Diego's best stocked hobby shop. A good selection of bottled paints, spray paint cans, modelling supplies, model kits in various scales as well RC vehicle and planes are on hand for perusing and purchase. The staff is also helpful and willing to answer questions.

Lots of options for your hobby needs, prices are normal to mid high range and half the staff is friendly and helpful and two of the guys I encountered there not so much. Only couldn’t even bother to look up at me to direct me toward the parts I was looking for and the other was too cocky with his knowledge telling me the part I’m seeking doesn’t exit even though I had one in my hand. But the other guys were nice and specially the tall black gentleman. He was super helpful, I didn’t catch his name but he was a big help. Not sure if he was an employee or just a hobbyist since he was on the other side of the counter haha. But if you see him there definitely seek him for any questions or advice, he seems very knowledgeable. Also when I say tall I mean like 6’3+ tall haha

What a cool lil operation they're running here. Most the staff were attentive and trying to be helpful. 1 of the staff though.... Behind the counter in the RC section... He seemed inconvenienced when i asked a question about drifting capable Rc's, it was morning time and he probably hasn't had his coffee yet...i actually came for the plastic models though, they had a decent collection of models, although they did have some kind of system for organizing their plastic model kits I felt like I was in a ROSS. The ships were with the ships, the tanks were all together, and the aircraft were all in their respective shelves... BUT! they were just kind of stacked on the shelf... Like... Eh lettem dig for what they want. It is decently priced here and deffo geared more towards the RC cars and airplanes hobby than the plastic model kits aspect of our hobby. No Biggie overall not a bad store. Not bad at all

Very quaint little gift shop. Very nice merchandise available, although pricey. There are stairs to more merchandise, so if you are handicapped or have any difficulty with steep steps, the second floor will be unavailable to you, unless you know what's up there, and they said they would go get it for you. (Not really sure how you would know what's up there, if you can't get up there in the first place)

The music the history the artist and all the color is absolutely beautiful I spend time with friends from Oaxaca. And talked about Coco all day they had dancers and food.

Should have walked out when I sat at the bar and my hand was covered with some type of sticky white whatever. I ordered a beer and dinner. An hour later still no food. Not the bartender fault. I've been to many Mexican restaurant across the country. Never been to one that didn't serve chips and salsa. Well wait the people next to me got chips and salsa. I paid for my beers and walked out. Very disappointing.

My favorite shop of its kind outside Mexico. In fact, this wonderful store sells housewares, art, books, jewelry and clothing from many countries but everything exudes a Mexican vibe. What makes the place really special is how beautifully all the items are curated. You'll find very high quality things and incredibly beautiful as well. The emphasis is on authenticity and craftsmanship. Nothing is dirt cheap but many things are very affordable. They also have sales, like Christmas ornaments right after the holidays. I've always found the sales people to be super nice and helpful. The place is laid out like a mini-mall with separate "shops" specializing in different things. The largest shop is for housewares: linens, bedding, fabrics, ceramics, kitchenwares, etc. Free parking right outside is ample and you're right at Old Town so there's lots of nearby attractions and eateries. Really, Bazaar del Mundo is so lovely and colorful I get a lift just by coming in.

Super cute shopping center with lots of little tienditas. The shop that had the pastelitos, also had Mexican hot chocolate, Abuelita brand, mmmm. The churros were fresh, hot and delish!!!😃 The place is mostly a tourist trap with super expensive, but gorgeous Mexican made dolls, clothes, blankets etc and lots of food ! Even a restaurant in the center

We used to live off Morena Blvd and loved to stop at the fruit stand! They have such a great selection of produce at such a reasonable price but also have these gems of things like green hatch chili peanuts, spicy mangos, or chocolate covered bananas. We don't always get them but it's always fun to stop in and see if they'll be there, even my sister asks to go when she's in town from Santa Barbara! Staff are always friendly and courteous, we love coming in even now that we've moved.

Great big fruit stand with staying power! They know their fruit... Visit for a very wide variety of locally grown product that will not break the bank. Also available a wide variety of fruit leather, banana chips, peanut butter and coffee beans! Talk to the store keeper I was informed the location has been steady since 1986.. that's 35 years ago! This place is a Jurassic level fruit stand, must visit and 10/10 would recommend to friends and family

First time coming by here and fantastic selection of local fruit and veg :) spotted on the way to Costco and offers a nice alternative to buying in bulk. The staff was very friendly and even threw in some free clementines- will definitely be coming back!!

Great produce at a great price! Some the nicest workers ever as well. Probably my favorite is they'll round down your total so don't have to walk out with 5 or 6 coins that everybody has no desire to carry around. So other times I round up, have them keep the 75 cents, things even out in the end.

Meh, some items seem organic and taste great, others seem like the bottom of the barrel as far as being right off the farm. No taste at all in the strawberries and some tomatoes, not worth going out of your way and expensive to boot.

Found this lil spot cause I needed Costco gas lol. Anyways I’m so happy we found this little jewel. Love the fresh produce and delicious salsas they sell here. Also the wood is such a good deal, a whole Wheelbarrow of good wood (pine & eucalyptus) for $25 ! Say less , I’m all about it. The gentleman even offered to put it my car for me which was super helpful considering I injured my back the other week. Customer service was awesome and my husband and I will definitely be returning customers!

Wow! This place is so cool! As others have said, it's very well curated. Even their gifts are nice and not typical bookstore cheesy. I went there to buy a puzzle as a gift and they have an incredible selection of beautiful puzzles. I can't wait to go back and peruse! The books they have on display all look intriguing. Many wonderful coffee table books available too.

Rarely do places live up to reviews but this bookshop did just that. We are not from San Diego and we usually visit bookshops when we are out of town. We visited the bookshop today and found it to be wonderful.They definitely have a curated collection of books and their children’s section had a fantastic selection. Definitely recommend this bookstore as a place to visit when in San Diego for any book lover.

I ADORE this bookstore! The very first time I ever went in, the shop owner made my entire night and I laughed so much. They’re always so welcoming and friendly! Their curated book selection is fantastic. I’m always following releases on GoodReads and B&N, yet they always have other new ones that are off the mainstream radar. Iron Flame recently released and it was sold out everywhere at the major outlets - but I knew I could count on Book Catapult to have it in stock and not thrashed! I loved seeing their pre-order stack ready for pick up too, it makes my heart real happy. 🥹❤️

Today was the first time I shopped here. It's super cute and was very busy. I went in to buy a few bookmarks for a friend who is an avid reader but they had tons of great books and a great section for children's books

One of my favorite independent bookstores is the Book Catapult. They have a wide variety of books (current releases, fantasy, history, food, biographies, and more) and such an interesting curation of books (art, social reform, etc). I always find something new and interesting to read. I also like all of the smaller gift items, cards, and bookish things in the back of the store. I’ll be back soon!

Do not shop at this store! They’re totally overpriced, they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and they have an absolutely caveman return policy where you can’t do a simple even exchange for a gift unless you know the exact date it was purchased so they can track down the transaction as if it’s the dark ages. If the gift is in one of their gift bags that you only receive if you make a purchase, and if it still has the tag attached, why am I treated like a criminal for requesting an even exchange of the item? When I asked for the employees name who was rude to me to, she said she couldn’t give out that information. I have honestly never been so mind blown!! Spend your money at another store where you’re not being robbed of your money and your dignity!

One of my favorite coffee shops in San Diego. I’ve been coming here for a few months and I’m never disappointed. The vibe and design of the place is outstanding. Coffee is delicious and staff are really friendly. Great place to hang out, work or study. If you want to stay late, you can order drinks and enjoy the great atmosphere of Liberty Station.

I saw the most unique vase in the store on Sunday but since I’m traveling, I decided not to purchase it. Turns out I couldn’t stop thinking about the vase and had some serious regret. I hopped online, and naturally, couldn’t find it on their website. In a last ditch effort, I called the store and asked if they could ship it to my home. Austin answered the phone, was super helpful and patient as I tried to describe where I thought I saw it 😅 After a few tries, we finally found it. I really appreciate that he went above and much beyond to find this vase for me, with 10 minutes ‘til closing. Thanks Austin and team! 🙏❤️

Visited the place during the christmas time. Perhaps the best original cocktail place in whole of san diego. Very chilled out atmosphere, open ambience, live edge tables and absolutely fantastic drinks. The barman is an artist and takes real care to prepare the drink to satisfy the eyes, nose, taste buds and the spirit! 10/10 would recommend.

Was the worst ever. We were here about five minutes ago and ordered a Peppermint Mocha & a Caramel Apple Cider and they both tasted awful. The cider tasted like hot apple flavored pee, the peppermint mocha tasted nothing like peppermint just oat milk and foam. I have a huge issue with watching people spit on the ground and I never do it because i feel gross i had to SPIT the cider out because it tasted THAT bad. Edit: Had to repost because they removed my review, lol. Removed a lot of the bad reviews that were on here. Edit #2: They keep removing my reviews, I think it’s hilarious but I’m genuinely upset, I paid darn near twenty dollars in a GOOD area for bad coffee.

Mark and Matt are genuine vinyl merchants elevating their craft through superb customer experience. Mark pulled out vinyls he thought I might like and spun them up. Very heart felt musical visit.

I was on vacation in SD and looked up a record store to visit, and I’m so glad I found Feelit! It was well organized, clean, and had a great selection. To the people saying it was over priced….you know that vinyl records are a novelty these days, right? I would rather pay more money if it means keeping the record industry alive, and supporting a local business. I also got to chat with the owner, I didn’t catch his name, but he was so kind, knowledgeable and you can tell he was passionate about what he does, and I enjoyed talking music with him!

great shop for music lovers! the shop had a great range of genres- metal, hip hop, rock, and a lot of really great artists! my sister and i stopped in and the guy working was really helpful without being pushy. he gave us a tote bag for spending over $100 and a handful of stickers :) we were just visiting in San Diego, but i'd definitely recommend to anyone in the area!!

I was able to stop in and check this place out, while visiting San Diego. The Vinyl selection is vast, and Mark the owner is a great guy. As soon as you enter, he greets you and asks you if you need help finding anything. If you are particularly interested in Hip Hop, this place has a great variety of Hip Hop records available. Mark, also took the time to chop it up with me about hip hop and some of the cool vinyl he had in store. At the end of my visit and purchase, Mark also hooked me up with a free bag and some stickers! Great selection and great service. Definitely made my visit memorable and enjoyable!

My son is a regular customer. When we get there we feel at home. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. They update their selection weekly and keep us updated when something we want arrives at the shop. While it is a commute for us, it is worth the drive!

I have gone to this place a lot for hoodies and I have always enjoyed the designs. However, they do not ensure the quality of their clothing - I recently bought a shirt and and the print started immediately peeling. I went back to the store to see if there was anything they could do for me and all I got was blank stares and a dismissive attitude. Their 1-hour return policy shows that they truly do not value their customers or back the quality of their merchandise. Customer service is definitely not a priority for this store. Cheap clothing and I will no longer recommend this store to others.

I recently did the 1.5hr snorkeling tour through La Jolla Outpost and Cassidy was my guide. She was sweet and a great tour guide! Very knowledgeable about the marine ecosystems at La Jolla Cove and she taught me everything I needed to know about snorkeling since it was my first time. Equipment rental was easy and affordable and it's a cool experience overall. Would highly recommend! Be sure to arrive early enough though because parking in the area can be quite hard.

Wonderful crystal shop in North Park! A huge selection of crystals of all different types. Not just small stones, but also medium to large size geodes. They also have a good collection of tarot decks, even Thoth. They also feature local art, which is a great way to connect with the San Diego community. And the prices are reasonable! Definitely my favorite crystal shop in San Diego! And Jackie was delightful, personable, and super helpful in finding aquamarine for us!

A fantastic shop! If you’re looking for stones of any type, they’ve got them. Some really beautiful large polished Labradorite recently restocked. The staff is super knowledgeable and fully able to help. I personally talked their ear off for probably a half hour and they were great! Will be going back! Absolutely 10/10. 😄

I trusted the store but had a surprise when I got home. I bought these two cars for $10 each. When I put batteries in one tonight it was missing parts. You can see in the picture some of the metal receivers for the batteries are missing. Then I googled the car for reviews and it’s sold for $5 at Five Below. I guess I should’ve done my due diligence at the store but I expected that it was a curated collection and that they would text electronic items or at least price them fairly. It’s a cute store, I picked out several other cute things for a fair price and I love the idea of reusing things so I will probably be back. But I will shop more carefully in the future.

A great store with a huge variety of toys, new and old, for all ages. Friendly service, as well. They also have an enormous selection of stickers for sale. Although the store is a little small, one can easily spend an hour looking through all the goodies. Highly recommend this toy shop!

Better off going to find & buy new toys yourself. A lot of this stuff is at target or other stores around San Diego but just marked up to reseller price. Not a lot of vintage options or anything but if there is way too expensive for stuff not in best condition. Asked about selling squishmallow here & owner wasn’t even willing to offer me more than $10 for brand new items. Meanwhile it’s not even 20% of what she would be selling them for. All I got back was “well I mean this is a business.” Rude and unprofessional..

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. My review is based on my experience as a seller. I called ahead to make sure this store purchases watches since I was looking to sell 2 Rolex watches from my father’s collection. I told the rep on the phone about the types of watches and was honest about not having boxes nor papers. They still said that was fine and they would make an appointment that same day so I can have it viewed by their buyer in store that day. I kept my appointment and this was the first store I visited for these watches due to the great reviews they had online. Unfortunately it seems those reviews were only for buyers, and not those selling to them. At first I was met with friendliness. No other customer was at the store so almost all of them came up to greet me and ask what I was there for. I met with the buyer in a few minutes and he checked the watches and asked some questions about the watch. Everything seemed to go fine until he asked what price I had in mind. Knowing how these transactions go, I did my research ahead of time and also asked my father what his price point was. I did not want to throw out a number first though and instead put the question back on them as to how much they would offer. It started getting tense then because they would just refuse to say something and then instead now critiqued the watches to try to justify why they are not giving a price. After a while, the second buyer came by and inspected it. He then told me point blank that I should not have gone to them first and that they don’t even “need to buy these pieces.” He also tried to point out that I was not educated with these pieces and told me to “do my research.” Lastly ended with “when you get your best offer, then you can come back to us with a number but we are not going to give you a buy price.” Useless waste of my time and trip to La Jolla for a supposed reputable business. I felt so degraded after that meeting since I just packed up and left and they just ignored me after that point. Gone was the friendliness initially received since they basically embarrassed me while every one of their sales people on the floor saw/heard what happened. Maybe they are good for when you need to buy pieces (but aren’t all sales people that way?) but steer clear of this place when you want to sell good pieces. They will not be honest with you and just waste your time.

Had a great experience with CJ Charles Jewelers, specifically Belinda. Belinda is extremely knowledgeable, quick-witted, and pays attention to detail. I had been referred to this Jeweler because of my Cartier watch. When I initially met Belinda I was impressed by how much she knew about the overall piece, the mechanisms, and operations. Likewise, she actually took the time and patience to address all my questions in detail. She definitely knows her craft and would truly recommend her and staff to anyone looking for quality pieces of watches and jewelry. Thanks again for everything, much appreciated!

In my quest for a new Cartier watch I had the good fortune of contacting CJ Charles Jewelers and speaking with Esteban Garcia. He informed me the watch I was interested in was not available but should be in 2-4 weeks. As the watch was still not available after a month I made an appointment with Esteban to look at the Cartier watches currently in stock. At no point was there any pressure to make a purchase and so I had the luxury of taking my time to consider all models. I ended up falling in love with the Panthere De Cartier which I had not initially considered. Most importantly the watch was fitted perfectly and I was given thorough instruction on working with the clasp as my existing Cartier watch is the Tank model with a strap. This was such a lovely experience I wanted to take the time to thank Esteban and CJ Charles Jewelers. And thank you for the beautiful gift you included of a Cartier candle!

Esteban is personable has been great at follow-up. To me, follow-up and keeping promises is a huge component of good customer service. I was interested in a particular watch and he answered my questions and set up a time for me to come into the store. I did end up purchasing a watch and he also has continued to take care of ordering another Watch strap for me, as well as making sure I am informed comfortable with my transactions. I would shop at CJ Charles again.

I purchased a very difficult to find Cartier timepiece with CJ Charles Jewelers just about a week ago. I had some expert help from Jonathan Halberg who magically located the watch and shipped it to me here in Chicago just in time for the Holidays. The watch was a fun gift for my wife, and she was thrilled! So thanks, Jon and thanks CJ Charles! Highly recommend!

It is a great place to shop for gifts, and you can feel great about your purchase, knowing it supports our amazing Central library. The employees at this store are incredibly kind. I honestly love visiting this store if I’m feeling down, it always cheers me up. There is always a table our front with items on sale.

The Central Library is beautifully designed with state of the art amenities. I've spent my time in the IDEA LAB, which has Mac computers with new software. They even have a 3D printer.

This place is book nerd heaven! I could have purchased half the store. It is very well-curated. They had books, postcards, ornaments, enamel pins, stickers, etc. It wasn’t large but they packed a lot in! There is also a used book shop in the library as well.

The library shop at the San Diego Central Library is a marvel of stuff that you haven't thought of buying. The library apparently needs money, though, so possibly you should get something here. The place is just off the ground-floor lobby. Although Google contends I was in the library store today, I wasn't, and since it was before the pandemic that I was last there, I can't tell you what they have now on the shelves.

Really neat gifts and goodies. It's not just books. At the time I went, they had a discount rack, 50% off. Items vary in price. Every time I've gone, the people working there have been very nice. Park down below and scan your parking ticket inside for 2 free hours.

Geppetto’s is a fantastic toy store, they have many locations throughout San Diego, but this is our favorite. This store has a wonderful selection of quality toys, from LEGO to Barbie and so much more. Our kids obviously love the shopping experience when we take them in. The staff keeps the store in great condition and are always willing to help find the perfect gift.

This place took me back to 1988. I loved it. They have current toys also.

Employees should verbally tell customers that there is a no return or exchange policy. When I tried to exchange shoes after an hour of purchasing them, I was informed of the policy and told that I should have read the sign. Consumers encounter hundreds of signs a day and, like me, could miss it. It would only take a few seconds for an employee to say the policy before running a customer's card.

Great selection of shoes. Sizes fit true. Staff is very helpful and was willing to take the time to answer any questions. We bought a pair for each boy and they are both thrilled.

Store is way too small, room for only two customers at counter. Not dog friendly nor people friendly for that matter. Would not have minded tying dog to the fence if the woman didn’t quickly say oh no no he can’t come in here we have too much food all around. I get it if you don’t want dogs, but all you had to do is ask nicely.

Walking into this store you can tell there is a lot of love and hard work put into everything they do from the Chocolates to the decorations and the packaging. I've tried several different pieces, including the famous champagne Truffles, and have never been disappointed! These make great gifts but you do need to understand that Teuscher is a luxury brand. If you understand what you're purchasing you'll be happy with the experience! As for size, the store is small and that's one of my favorite things about it! Small, hand made, and delicious!

This is absolutely the best Teuscher chocolate store in the U.S. I have visited and shipped from stores all across the country, New York, San Francisco, Portla d and even Switzerland. The San Diego location pays close attention to detail and truly cares about every customer. My Son is 10 and every year we purchase champagne truffles for his other Mom for Valentines Day. I was blown away by the store owner, Karin. This is a wonderful business owner and Mom who truly supports Love is Love. Please order from this location and trust your order will be on time and packaged beautifully. You might even get extra chocolates and a hand written note wrapped in rainbow like we did. I will never buy chocolates anywhere else again but this store and from Karin and her family!

What an amazing experience!!! Customer service above and beyond! I live in Switzerland and wanted to send my father who lives in Arizona some Swiss chocolate for his birthday. Karin the La Jolla Teuscher owner went out of her way to make sure the order would not only be completed, but delivered in 110 F Arizona weather without fail. She followed up with me to let me know when it was being shipped and even informed me when it was delivered. My father called to let me know it arrived and is delicious!!! I can only recommend this amazing shop and Karin!!! Not to mention the fantastic Swiss Chocolates!!

Wanted to charge me $3.00 for a paper bag even though I had bought a $13.14 chocolate Bunny. If $3.00 is worth more than a customer it says a lot about the business.

These chocolates are truly exquisite! I didn’t know truffles until tasting Teuscher in La Jolla, it truly puts anything else to shame! I recommend the dark chocolate champagne truffle :) It’s a wonderful place to bring a friend, and they have the most beautiful gifts/gift boxes to choose from (just be sure to get a little for yourself, too!). Karin, the owner, is the warmest and most beautiful person inside and out. I couldn’t recommend this store highly enough.

Unfortunately for the price, you can find much much better chocolate. Was pretty disappointed tbh. The experience was fine. I have had chocolate all over the world, Including other Swiss Chocolates. Unfortunately these were just a miss.

Recently, I had the pleasure of discovering Teuscher and decided to buy a box of chocolates for my wife on Valentine's Day. Let me say, the chocolate is unparalleled, and my wife absolutely adored them. I also want to extend my appreciation to Karin, the owner, for her exceptional customer service. She truly knows how to make her customers feel valued and taken care of. Without a doubt, I'll be returning for more in the future.

I attended Catholic school in Germany my entire childhood. I've had access to the highest quality European chocolate. Teuscher Swiss is the best chocolate in the world!! I'm originally from Beverly Hills, CA. Grateful to see San Diego has opened this location. Total dream come true!! No other store or brand compares to Teuscher. My favorite item is the Champagne truffles.

A cozy little shop in the heart of La Jolla with a wide variety of delicious Swiss chocolates that make for a wonderful gift. Likewise, the owner was very friendly and happy to provide recommendations and accommodations. I’d recommend a visit!

I can not say enough about how delicious, smooth, creamy and decadant these chocolates are. Made in Zurich Switzerland, but the owner ships to his satellite shop in La Jolla San Diego. Yes, it is pretty expensive. It’s twice the price of Chuao Chocolatier but for those of us who want the best of the best, these luxury sweets won’t disappoint.

The gift shop wasn’t anything spectacular but the International Cottages are a must-see while you’re in SD! Open on Saturdays and Sundays, definitely put this on your ‘to do’ list!

It’s a great idea to have a United Nation gift store, but the items they sell are just okay..

Very interesting and educational space. The layout is nice. However the name itself is a misnomer. There are NO, not a single one, African countries represented. This was a huge let as the name suggests that this is am international space. I understand that there are a limited number of houses /huts/buildings but to not even have one country from an entire continent was sad.

On our checklist of San Diego destinations when we are in Little Italy. My year old plants are thriving. The owner is so knowledgeable and will gear you towards the right type of plant for your household - we have cats so the plants can't be toxic. Everything in that store is worth a look.

A gem! Beautiful store, lovely plants, bonsai, many unique Japanese items. Not cheap, of course, but it's downtown San Diego and high quality.

By far the coolest little shop I’ve visited. Asian themed with relaxing music and incense when you walk in as well as many unique and cute beautiful gifts and souvenirs to buy from shiba tote bags, Art pieces, jellyfish ornaments to assemble and hang outside, absolutely beautiful Japanese hairsticks, and plants. I bought myself this cute little moss ball called a marimo! They live 200 years when cared for properly and grow 5mm a year! I would recommend anyone visiting San Diego to make this one of their must-stop places to visit while in the area.

Perfection. Absolutely beautiful and incredibly hand selected imported Japanese crafts, plates, cooking items, and so much more! I wanted to buy the whole store!

We stumbled upon this store while waiting in line for Harumama. This store is a hidden gem that sells not your usual Japanese stuff. Lots of small plants, tea paraphernalia, international and local Japanese artworks and cutesy products. 😍

We spoke to the owner while here (I think) and he was crafting small origami earrings. He was very friendly and we had a really great time visiting here. There is a great selection of really nice Japanese goods—stuff that is hard to find in the states. I was super happy to find Hasami Porcelain! Lastly, he has has a ton of various bonsai for sale as well. If you’re in Little Italy I would definitely make the quick walk around the corner to visit!

My 8 year old used her own money to buy a ring from here. Within minutes the dolphin had broken off. You can tell it was all rusted where the dolphin was connected to the ring. We went right back and asked if we could get a new one. We were told “no that that owner does not return things broken once it leaves the store.” So apparently they knew they sell junk items. The ring was only $5 but that isn’t even the point of it. They sold a rusty dud and refuse to stand behind it. Thankfully another store in Seaport Village made it up to my daughter when they didn’t even have to!

DO NOT SHOP HERE. Terrible service and the woman working there was incredibly rude. I went in to buy a shirt, and I tried one on but the neck was stretched out. I tried to take another one in the same size but the woman wouldn’t let me “because of the pandemic.” Afterwards I went to try and exchange and she asked me “if I could read” in reference to my receipt. She did end up letting me switch the shirt after me arguing for awhile. She was so incredibly rude and unprofessional. Please do not shop here, there are so many other, better places to get t-shirts/sweatshirts/souvenirs at Seaport Village.

Based on the staff only. Came in at about 7:45 on 10/24. The girl working was very unfriendly, and acted disgusted my son and I were in the store. Upon completion of our taffy purchase, she said absolutely nothing, and my son said “thank you.” Thank you for what son, she’s really very rude and makes your store uninviting. Can’t she at least speak when guests enter, I did?! If a friend didn’t request specifically that I buy them taffy, I would have walked out. Maybe she needs further training on the basics of being a friendly person?

We tried ten or so toffee candies. They all had a strong salt taste that overshadows any flavor that they may have had. Not only that, the candy sticks to the wrapper and feels more like a spread rather than something structured. Service was nice and polite but really the candies are bad.

It's a sugar bank with all the goods!! Kids loved it, and they even convinced me to eat some candy, too. They have some obscure selections unique to its store as well as vintage flavors that remind you of memories past. Fun little spot.

Wide variety of taffy is what attracted us into the store, made in Utah we were told, so not local but still very good and great taste. We were trying to find and sample local made treats, they did make their own fudge though!

Fun little candy shop experience in the middle of town, they had fair prices for candy I thought, we bought half a pound and it was four dollars only! They let us try some fudge too! (Not personally a huge fudge fan BUT it was good!) the service was polite and friendly.

What a fantastic candy store. As one of four stores located in Southern California and the only store in San Diego county, the Balboa Candy shop has everything. From Taffy to in-store made fudge, they have it all. Balboa Candy has two locations in New Port and one location in Palm Springs. The staff was very accommodating and gladly answered all our questions.

Absolutely fantastic little home goods and gift store owned and operated by Sean Barnes! Love this place. It had the most eclectic, humorous, envelope pushing, rare and obscure selection of gifts you’ll ever find! Great conversation starter pieces, collectors gifts and a selection of birthday cards that you will not find anywhere else but will make the recipient and everyone who reads it die laughing!! If you’re in Little Italy, you have to stop in and take a look. Bring a spare clean sock if you do for the store mascot, Bowie, the cutest little dachshund ever. You’ll have a friend for life!

Cute little shop. They have a lot of unique stationary and small gifts. Keep in mind the prices are high because it's not stationary you will find at Target, it's high quality. I would not be able to afford shoping here often. If you see what I have pictured it was $33. The store was clean and had a restroom available in the complex. The staff was very sweet. Unfortunately the lay out of this store would be a challenge for anyone with disabilities to shop using a wheelchair or crutches.

Unique, quality greeting cards and all the journals, writing utensils, and correspondence knick-knacks a girl could ask for! They also do custom printing for personalized invitations/announcements, which I'm definitely keeping in mind for the next time I I need to announce something :)

Sweet paper is one of my favorite gift shops in La Jolla! I worked with the owner Karly, who helped me create my dream wedding invitations and thank you notes! She was so helpful and creative, making the experience fun and stress free. I would highly recommend for any gifts or one of a kind stationery needs!

I recently had the privilege to work with Karly at Sweet Paper. We chatted via email and worked on our designs together. She was so quick to respond and was really great to work with, communicating all the details about the design. She sent over the proofs same day and they looked amazing. After just a few tweaks we were ready to print. The order was packaged so nice and wrapped up just like a gift. It felt super special to get my order and see the presentation. If you are needing invites, Karly is your girl!!

My fiance and I knew we needed invitations and fast - we only had about four months left for the wedding. We didn't have an appointment, but Kayla was extremely helpful and helped us out anyway! Another couple had the table space for their appointment, so we stood off to the side of the register and browsed. Kayla helped us merge two designs together for an absolutely SPLENDID final product. She even helped us make sure our addresses were correct (and corrected some for us!). Her customer service is above and beyond anything we anticipated and ensured we had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend perusing the shop (even if you just love stationary) and utilizing their service. So thankful that we decided to drop in that day - we also have gotten tons of compliments on our invitations, and for that I can only be grateful for Kayla's exceptional help and advice!

Love this store in downtown La Jolla, Not only is it the cutest gift shop, but they do stationary as well! I was married in June of this year, and Karly helped me with my wedding invitations. We wanted something simple yet classic and we loved that you could jazz up our simple white invitation with an envelope liner. The process was easy and the designer were so helpful in walking us through the process. We were so happy we chose Sweet Paper and have recommended them to other friends and family who are planning weddings!

Sweet Paper is an absolute hidden gem in La Jolla. By far the best stationary and best gift shop along the coast. Their knowledge and expertise is second to none in creating beautiful wedding stationary and wedding invitations. Also perfect for that sweet little gift to take a piece of La Jolla home with you. Sweet Paper is the best ever! They helped me with my entire wedding suite - invitations, rehearsal dinner invitation, table numbers, escort cards, etc. They made this part of wedding planning soo seamless! It even was my husband’s favorite part of wedding planning. Also, the way they “wrap” all the items was incredible. I highly recommend using them!

Just stopped in here after noticing it while I was walking around in the area. I noticed that they had an entire wall with albums of wedding invites and pulled one out to see some of their stationary design and was just looking around. I was scolded and told that I “am not able to even look at the albums or invites without an appointment”. Was hoping to get an idea of invite and save the date styles they do as I’m getting married in 2025. This was a huge turn off for me and disappointing to not even be able to look around. What’s the point of not even being able to look at the design albums? Won’t be back, overall disappointing experience. Edited to add- the comment from the owner to my review was rude and patronizing, and quite frankly very inappropriate. It reaffirms the point that I made above. Telling me to “get a wedding planner so I can actually understand the process”- how do you know that I don’t already have one? Stating that I’m acting like it is a “Joann’s fabrics.” It’s clear they didn’t read the review to notice that I mentioned I was walking around in the area and happened across their shop and decided to stop inside. No where in the store is it listed that it is by appointment only and that you cannot view albums. It really is not necessary to demean and scold customers.

I’ve been here a few times and have noticed that the “hellos” and welcome greetings are given very “selectively”. No matter your gender, skin color or anything else, everyone deserves a warm welcome. This is La Jolla, this is Southern California and this is a friendly, warm and accepting community. I will not spend my money at businesses where there is a lack of inclusiveness, and you’re a “greeting” card shop, no less. The irony.

They had the best selection of beautiful books of all kinds, especially sticker books, that my grandkids love..lots of other toys and games all good prices. I will defenitely buy more in future from their website.

What a surprise that the toys were NOT severely overpriced like most stores in these types of touristy areas. I'll definitely be coming back to pick up a few toys and books every now and then.

This my local go to for gifts, they have a little something for everyone, even babies & dogs! They have a great card selection, beautiful plants & pots, fun and unique home goods that are carefully curated and the selection is ever changing. They have a rewards program as well.

This tiny gem of a shop on Adams is a goldmine for always finding the perfect gift. I have a terrible habit of leaving gift-buying to the very last minute, and Brenna always comes through with an amazing stock of wares as well as great helpful suggestions. Her taste level is on point, so her shelves are always full of fabulous pieces, often by local artists, and her own jewelry work is darling. I have a hard time not buying myself something whenever I'm there for someone else!

I absolutely LOVE this place. You know when you walk into an overpriced little shop that's sort of barren and you don't really like anything they sell but are sort of tricked by the aesthetics so you find yourself in there? Niche is NOT that. When you step in you're hit by the smell of luscious candles and a fun, trendy, and somewhat whimsical atmosphere. There are so many beautiful things to look at it's hard to know where to set your gaze first. This is a great place to purchase unique gifts with plenty of charm and for a boutique, I think the pricing is totally reasonable. The owner is incredibly friendly and you can tell she really takes pride it what she selects for merchandise, each item is thoughtfully displayed and she knows the history behind it/who specifically makes it. I would highly suggest Niche if you're into more contemporary style items, buying memorable gifts, or just want a mood "pick me up"(the atmosphere is that wonderful).

I’m so sad because I love this place. But their new hours have been so hard to go in and get gifts. Their voicemail says until 6pm, but when I showed up at 5:05 they had a note on their window saying closed. :/ miss being able to go in, as I work 8-5. :/

I LOVE this boutique! I've shopped here twice and both times left with more than I intended to buy (not a bad thing for me, since I rarely shop), and with pieces that I wouldn't normally try on, but are now my go to pieces. The owner has great taste and is very helpful with putting an outfit together. It'a like having your own personal shopper!

Fantastic customer service. I was surprised at the prices. They were better than I expected. They're the same in California as they are in Louisiana and I really expected more. The sales ladies were really friendly and chatty. It's too bad I live in a different state because I would definitely come back sooner if I could!

Well-organzied and clean store. The associate was nice too. I couldn't believe the sale they were having. Everything $20 if you buy two or more items. Any item except a specific kind of candle brand. Also, if you're on vacation and need something in between casual and formal or forgot to pack some toiletries or sunny weather wear, they had it all. Plus little knick knack gifts that are fun.

LOVE THIS STORE! I was looking for maternity clothes and no store at this mall had any but I stopped in this store just to look at the cute dresses, not expecting to buy anything (I am 7 months pregnant and didn't think they had anything that would fit me) but almost every sales associate there started looking for loose and empire waist-style dresses for me and waited to see if what they picked fit/looked good on me. They picked out so many things for me and were so extremely helpful. I was feeling very upset that I could not find any stores with maternity clothes and these girls were just so awesome and so sweet and made my trip to the mall worth it. :)

Normally love this store and shop different locations...I came in to shop the La Jolla Cove location. I started by asking a very simple question about a display...a question that was only partially answered in a super short and rude way...and then fully answered by the person standing next to her. Not sure if I was being judged...but the heavier, dark haired girl was unnecessarily rude. I will not be back and will never recommend. No one has to shop anywhere, they choose because of the products and the service. Service was terrible.

I was visiting from out of town in May 2018, and I was telling a couple of the girls working behind the counter (one girl’s name was Summer) that my wife and I had just eaten over at Jose’s Court Room. I mentioned that I had the La Jamaica margarita and they looked at each other, laughed, and looked back at me and laughed. I asked what was so funny and they said it was how I mispronounced “Jamaica.” They continued to laugh and make fun of my pronunciation in front of all the other customers in line. In hindsight, I wish I would have asked them to pronounce some words from where I’m from (Washington) like... Issaquah, Puyallup, Snoqualmie, Sequim, Enumclaw. Then I could laugh in their faces and embarrass them in front of everyone. Thanks for perpetuating a stereotype, pretentious SoCal girls!

Good customer service and well organized

I’m really disappointed in these shoes. The salesperson told me she’d owned hers for years and had washed them multiple times. She really sold me on the quality and durability. I would have never spent that much money if I’d known that mine would fall apart after 3 washes. They only have a 30 day return policy, so buyer beware!

Great experience each time I've shopped there. Staff focus on what shoes will best work for your feet and steer you away from those that won't. I brought a friend who felt equally well served and is delighted with her new shoes.

Before driving an hour to the La Jolla location I looked up their hours online. It was open. And when I arrived at 1:20pm there was a hand written note on the door: “Be back at 3.” Absolutely unprofessional and rude. These people do not know how to run a proper business. Wasted time and money.

Went there Sunday just before they closed Danae was so awesome she was so nice and kind she helped out with everything we had. We needed to buy alot of gifts for all are kids and grandkids and even though they were getting ready to close she never rushed us she even went so far as to apologize for not staying open later There should be alot more Danae in business that know how to treat customers. She was awesome because of her will definitely recommend this place.

This place is a gem! I was in La Jolla over the weekend and I certainly enjoyed shopping hereI Not to sound like I am a shopaholic —-but I went back 3 different times and made multiple purchases each time. I have to say when I walked into Everett Stunz I was in awe after looking at all the beautiful bedding, sheets and pillows.The bedding sale was on so perfect timing for a new bed and sheets.This is the best bedding store and best quality sheets I have found in La Jolla. I layed on quite a few beds in their new Girard avenue showroom from adjust a beds to beds that let you let you adjust the firmness, comfort and support with a remote control. A bit nicer then the sleep number beds I looked at. So my goal was to find the right firmness for the bed mattress and simple bed frame that was comfortably priced. With the help of Nicki who was so helpful and pleasant I was able to find the right bed. The King size bed was a bit to big for my living space but the Queen size bed was perfect. I ended up purchasing the Queen size Duxiana bed with a firm but soft, breathable knit fabric mattress top. The mattress is about 4 inches thick instead of the bulky old school style. The bed frame and springs is where all the magic is put together. Very cool looking. This bed has helped me get the best sleep of my life. ❤❤❤ Luxury bedding does cost a bit more but these beds are for a lifetime. Great beds, great service. Thank you Everett Stunz

I have been to this store many times now and can attest to their excellent quality in products and knowledgeable staff. My best buy: White Italian woven Egyptian cotton bed sheets! Plus, I had the chance to come by during one of their sale events where they were supporting a local animal shelter and had adoptable dogs outside. It was great to see a business such as this working with the community.

I drove just over an hour to see a maple platform bed by Savvy Rest they had on display. Bed was just what I'd been searching for - simple graceful design, lovely grain and shading in the maple - and the women working there were beyond helpful. They ordered it for me and followed up with phone calls to be sure I was happy. I definitely am happy. Thanks.

This store feels luxurious as soon as you enter the front door. The products both linen and beds are of the best quality, the staff ate both friendly and professional. They too are all very knowledgeable on their products. Everett Stunz is a real gem in La Jolla!

The store is really beautiful, the product is excellent the owner the couple that owns it they're a very nice couple, Catherine the office manager is one of the worst people I've met in my life, she hates her life, she hates her job, most of all she hates people she hates the owners of the shop she treats them terribly, I was a customer and I also used to work there..... Every chance Catherine gets she would let us know how much she disliked her job, she disliked people, she never wanted to talk to people, she couldn't stand going to the register and helping with complicated computer issues and finishing sales, the owners did themselves a terrible disservice by employing her and not being computer savvy..... They should have gone back to the old fashioned way and done everything by paper to keep it streamlined easy for the customers, there's no need to have an advanced computer system when you have no idea how to use it..... Now I've been told the shop is closing down forever.

No communication except for the initial order acknowledgment. Attempted to contact this business via email which was returned from not existing and the telephone was disconnected. This contact information was from their website. Since both email and phone are not in service, it looks like this business stole $284.62 from me. Shop at this location at your own risk.
