On April 15, 2021, Rene took it to her IG to share the unfortunate news in a long heartbreaking caption. A part of which read, “I didn’t just lose you Blakey, I lost all the dreams and hopes that a mom has for a son. I lost my motherhood, and I’m mourning it all.”

Rene Marsh Son Blake

Rene Marsh welcomed her son Blake on March 14, 2019. According to her, his special skills were “hugging and kissing on-demand,” and moreover, “top-notch” dance moves.

Unfortunately, Blake was diagnosed with brain cancer 8 months later in December 2019. Since then he had to go under chemotherapy, and as the COVID-19 pandemic just hit the world, Rene even urged her fans to wear a mask. In her words, 

“Wearing a mask isn’t political. It could protect my son’s life. Living through a pandemic, as a mom of a child with a cancer diagnosis, is terrifying.”

From the start, Blake was always under the care of Johns Hopkins Hospital. In mid-2020, they assured Rene that her son’s cancer was in remission. However, following November, they were “blindsided” by the news of cancer’s return.

Blake took his last breath on April 14, 2021. After his passing, Rene thanked all the personnel at JohnsHopkins “who cared for and loved Blake over the past year and a half.”
