Henry Fasenmyer

Henry J. “Bud” Fasenmyer, 91, of 34 Warren Blvd, Warren, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014, surrounded by his family at home. Bud was born January 29, 1923, in Oil City, PA. He is the son of the late James and Martina Schill Fasenmyer.

Bud was a 1941 graduate of Cranberry High School, and had served in the US Army in the European Theatre as an infantry rifleman and later as a Telegraph Line Repair Man. He was a skilled contractor, entrepreneur, and inventor with two patents. Bud was also the cofounder of Warren Concrete, Superior Tire, Warren Chemical and S&F Heating and Air. Previously, he had been a Cub Scout Leader, a former member of the Ridgway Sportsman’s Club. He also enjoyed Canadian fishing trips and home improvement projects. He was a Charter Member of NASCAR in 1953, and qualified cars at Daytona. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and also helped build his children’s homes. He loved family and spending time with his grandchildren; he also loved to travel and especially enjoyed family trips to Atlantic City, Disney World and amusement park thrill rides.

He is survived by his wife: Josephine Steis Fasenmyer, whom he married on June 23, 1948; three daughters, Sharon Fasenmyer, of Warren, PA, Cathy Kuzminski, and husband, Ed, also of Warren, PA and Darlene Needs, and husband, John, of Schuylkill Haven, PA; and one son, Rod Fasenmyer, and wife, Ronna, of Warren, PA; two sisters, Jeannie Black, of Seneca, PA, Judy Buckholtz, and husband, Fred, also of Seneca, PA; and one brother, Bernard Fasenmyer, and wife, Shirley, of Warren, PA. He also has six grandchildren, Jason Kuzminski, and wife, Kristy, of Sugar Grove, PA, Michelle Kuzminski, of Warren, PA, Michael Kuzminski, of Warren, PA, Christopher Needs, of Philadelphia, PA, Kelli Fasenmyer, of Pittsburgh, PA and Todd Fasenmyer, of Warren, PA; four greatgrandchildren, Shelby, Halle and Kahle Kuzminski, and Emma Zaffino; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Fry and Rita Caldwell; one brother, Roy Fasenmyer; and a greatgranddaughter, Katerin Kuzminski.

Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Monday, September 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., where a vigil service will be held at 7:45 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell St., Warren, PA, with Fr. James Gutting, pastor, officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, PA.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Warren Cancer Care Center, Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, Hospice of Warren County or according to individual preference.
