Reece James spotted back in Chelsea training

-

Chelsea captain Reece James has been spotted back in training ahead of the Blues’ Premier League trip to Aston Villa on Saturday.

The England international has been out for four months with another hamstring problem but is nearing a return to action with four games remaining in the season.

His timely comeback will also be a boost for the Three Lions and Gareth Southgate ahead of Euro 2024 in Germany this summer.

Alongside James, Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill and Christopher Nkunku were all pictured doing work on the grass just days after Chelsea were thrashed 5-0 by Arsenal.

Premier League top scorer Palmer was a huge miss for the West London club at the Emirates, so his return from illness will put a smile on every fan’s face.

The official Chelsea X account posted that James and Colwill are only in “partial team training” but it does mean the 24-year-old may play at Stamford Bridge again before the final game on 19 May.

The academy graduate and much-missed right-back has only made nine appearances in all competitions this season and is yet to turn out in 2024.

If he can get back to his best, he could still play a huge part for club and country in the coming months.
