Honestly as far as John Cusack’s direct to video films go that I’ve given a 2/5 star rating too or lower, this one came close to being entertaining and at least moved by pretty fast. The main issue is just how poorly made and dumb this movie is. It’s just a generic and forgettable action film. The performances actually aren’t that bad but the movie just goes through the motions and feels extremely cheap.

So einfach und erwartbar, ist aber trotz Schema F kurzweilig (dank John Cusack) und unterhaltsam auf niedrigem Niveau.
Why I watched this one? Mr. John Cusack....although these straight to DVD Cusack movies are starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth.
What is this one about? A couple pays to adopt a child. Turns out the adoption agency they were working with was just a scam. And now the couple is in harm's way.
My thoughts on this one? Starts off silly and moves to beyond ridiculous by the end of the movie. Cusack is simply going through the motions in this one. The action scenes are very weak. You won't buy the story at all. Final thought: Avoid this one.
I used to love John Cusack. He brought me pleasure with the likes of High Fidelity, Grosse Point Blank, and Identity, as well as Con Air which is so entertaining Malkovich, Nic Cage, and Cusack himself should have been Knighted, had their haircuts patented, and been inducted into the action hall of fame. Since 1997 however, Cusack's made little of note, and this generic, formulaic thriller is more of the same lethargic and lazy paycheck collecting Cusack.
The plot of this is simple. Ryan Phillippe and his wife Rachelle Lefevre buy/adopt a Haitian orphan who is then kidnapped and held for more cash from a nasty John Cusack. Cue some awful dialogue, Phillippe trying desperately to act, Lefevre running around…
Pretty run of the mill thriller that wastes the talented cast with a predictable script. Ryan Phillippe and Rachelle Lefevre play a married couple who cannot have children so the decide to adopt a Haitian orphan via a shady adoption agency in Puerto Rico. While they are bonding with the girl and waiting for her passport to come through the girl is abducted and they find themselves in the middle of a kidnapping scam. John Cusack adds some star power in the role of the bad guy and while its good to see him play against type he should be above straight to video thrillers like this. The first half of the movie isn't too bad as we are introduced to the various characters and the picturesque Puerto Rican scenery is a beautiful backdrop but the second half lets the movie down as it piles up one cliche after another on its way to a predictable climax.
Not that bad. Actually quite thrilling at times, especially that cliffhanger car scene!!
Decent watch.
What a boring movie... at some point I thought it was ended... and then I watched 25 more minutes of a predictable second finale!
John Cusack is slowly transforming himself in another Nicholas Cage... sad, really sad...
Cool takes of Puerto Rico though...
Reclaim tries really hard to be something more - it actually wants to build suspense, with an hour of building before delivering any thrills. In addition, Cusack is making the most of his bill money by giving a cool hammy but creepy villain. The back end action features all the regular beats - a car chase, a punch-up, some shooting and a foot chase - but it never gets the blood pumping enough to be called exciting. It ends up being a serviceable thriller with a few good elements that is ultimately betrayed by the copybook plotting it has adopted.
