While the main cast of Southern Charm has stayed mostly intact over the course of five seasons, there have been a few friends that have come and gone over that time as well. Jenna King only stuck around for one season, and Landon Clements called it quits after three (seasons two through 4). But what about another old school pal, Cooper?

Who is Cooper on Southern Charm?

If you got addicted to Southern Charm right away, you’ll remember Cooper from the earlier seasons. K. Cooper Ray was a friend of Patricia’s that seemed to have a similar lifestyle, although clearly not as fabulous as hers — no one can compare to that opulence. Cooper was a bit of a Charleston socialite who always enjoyed a good party, whether he was planning, attending, or dancing the night away. You’ll remember he threw the infamous Founders’ Ball event. He was also a snazzy dresser who could be a bit dramatic and gossipy at times, but hey, this show’s always gotta have one!

Why is Cooper no longer on Southern Charm?

As a friend of the show who never quite made it to full time cast member status, he may have gotten a bit ahead of himself. While his friendship with Patricia was solid in season two, by season three he was hanging around more with Kathryn, and it would be an understatement to remind you that those two gals weren’t exactly pals.

In 2016, he told Bravo that Patricia said to him, “We are not gonna associate with Kathryn Dennis, and if you do, we won’t associate with you.”

“And I said, ‘Respectfully, Patricia, I have no reason to not speak to Kathryn.'” He went on to say, “Her estrangement toward me is due to Kathryn. My estrangement toward her is because she insulted me this summer.”

But that wasn’t the only reason she severed her friendship with him either. He would take to Snapchat after season 3 episodes would air on Bravo and give his side of things, revealing events that happened at the time but didn’t make it to the show, and that’s a big old no no. It would be safe to say Patricia had no interest in his unofficial aftershow business, and he has not been included in the Bravo series ever since.
