A dead body near the Independence Square in Colombo has been discovered by the Police this morning. In revision to early reports that hesitated to reveal his identity, the deceased has been identified as Rajiva Jayaweera aged 63, a resident in Rajagiriya.
Jayaweera had worked at SriLankan and Mihin Lanka companies and had navigated the social conversation into the the notorious Airbus scam by Mihin Lanka by exclusively disclosing information. He had written a number of articles on the scam for the Colombo Telegraph website, with many other contributions as a writer on sensitive information involving fraud and corruption.
Withstanding the controversial history borne by Jayaweera, speculations are on the rise that his death, which is referred to as suicide, could be a murder.
These speculations, however unconfirmed, suggest that the deceased had been abducted, murdered and brought back to the Independnece Square.
Reports also claimed that a letter has been recovered from the dead body suggesting that Jayaweera had written it prior to committing suicide.
