Ram Navami in Ayodhya 2024: Ram Navami, an auspicious Hindu festival celebrated across India and the world, commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

The festival symbolises the victory of good over evil and righteousness over injustice, inspiring individuals to uphold dharma (righteousness) in their lives. Lord Ram, revered as Maryada Purushottam, embodies the virtues of an ideal human being, making Ram Navami a symbol of virtue, righteousness, and spiritual enlightenment.

In 2024, Ram Navami will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17th, marking the ninth day (Navami Tithi) of the Chaitra month in the Hindu lunisolar calendar during the Shukla Paksha phase.

This year’s celebration holds special significance as it is the first Ram Navami after the inauguration of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir on January 23, 2024. To mark the festival, the Uttar Pradesh government has made extensive arrangements for the festivities in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram.

Festive offer

Preparations are underway to ensure that sunlight directly falls on Lord Ram’s idol in the sanctum sanctorum during his ‘Surya Abhishek’ at around noon on April 17. Many police personnel have also been deployed with the security in Ayodhya Dham being tightened since the commencement of the Ram Navami Mela on April 9 and will continue to do so, until Ram Navami is held on April 17, attracting about 25 lakh devotees.

Additionally, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has adorned the Ram Lalla idol with special hand-woven khadi cotton clothes and real silver and gold khadi hand block prints, inspired by Vaishnav Chinha, with 1,11,111 kg of laddoos will also be sent to the Ram temple in Ayodhya as prasad by the Devraha Hans Baba Trust.

Furthermore, Champat Rai, the Trust Secretary, announced that the trust is contemplating extending the darshan timings from 14 hours to 20 hours on Ram Navami to accommodate more visitors, with the arrangements being made to ensure that every visitor gets ‘prasad’.

Prasar Bharati will ensure a live telecast of Ram Navami celebrations at Ram Temple through LED screens in Ayodhya Nagar Nigam boundaries and, if possible, in the neighbouring markets as well. Prasad Bharati will ensure that such screens are put up in at least 100 places, making the celebration accessible to a wider audience.

Hence, this year’s celebration of Ram Navami at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, where Ram Lalla resides, will hold special significance, as it also coincides with the conclusion of the Chaitra Navratri dedicated to Goddess Durga.

May this Ram Navami bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to all. Wishing all our readers a very Happy Ram Navami 2024!
