Whether you're conducting a training session or looking for a fun way to gather feedback from your employees or customers, Quizizz makes it easy to host interactive quizzes that are sure to keep your audience engaged.

The first step to hosting a quiz is to create a Quizizz account, so you can make or find the quiz you'd like to play. We have a number of question types available to make the quiz more entertaining for your participants. Every quiz you create is available under 'My Library' in the left navigation pane.

Quizizz for Work offers you two ways in which you can host a quiz: live and asynchronous. Let's take a closer look at both these options.

Hosting a Live Quiz

Hosting a quiz live enables you to conduct an activity in real-time. There are four different kinds of live quizzes you can conduct:

  1. Participant paced: Here, participants progress through the quiz at their own pace
  2. Instructor paced: In this live mode, you (as the instructor) get to regulate the pace of the quiz so all your participants progress through it together
  3. Test: This live mode is ideal for formal assessments and has advanced proctoring capabilities
  4. Team vs. team: Here, each participant is assigned to a team and plays the quiz individually. Their scores are added together to get the team's score

Here are the steps you can follow to host a live quiz:

  1. Select the quiz you would like to host
  2. Click on the 'Start Live Session' option

  3. Select a live quiz mode. You can choose between Participant paced, Instructor paced, Test, and Team vs. team

  4. Review and modify the Primary, Gamification, and Assessment settings as per your requirements. To learn more about game settings for quizzes, click here

  5. Once you've made the necessary customizations, click on 'Continue'
  6. If you would like to assign the quiz to any of your Groups, select the Group(s) from the list displayed
    1. You can also click on 'New Group' to create a new Group of participants, or click on 'Manage Groups' to modify your existing Groups
    2. To learn more about Groups and their benefits, click here

  7. Click on 'Start Now'

You will now be led to your Live Dashboard. If you assigned the quiz to your participants via Groups, they will automatically receive a link through which they can join the quiz.

If you did not assign the quiz via Groups, you can share the join code displayed on your Live Dashboard with your participants. They can then visit https://quizizz.com/pro/join and enter the join code there.

Alternatively, you can also share the link displayed above the join code on your Live Dashboard. Lastly, you also have the option to generate a QR code by clicking on the 'Join via QR code' option. Your participants can scan the QR code with their devices to join the quiz.

Once all your participants have joined the quiz, click on 'Start' to begin the activity. Participants will be able to join the quiz for as long as the join code is active.

When the quiz is in progress, your Live Dashboard will display a Leaderboard that gets regularly updated according to your participants' responses.

Click on 'End' once all your participants have completed the quiz. Your Live Dashboard will now display accuracy data along with options to replay the quiz, assign it as an asynchronous activity, or review the questions.

Once the quiz has ended, participants will no longer be able to join the quiz. You can view the detailed report for your quiz in the 'Reports' section on the left navigation pane.

Hosting an Asynchronous Quiz

Hosting a quiz asynchronously allows participants to attempt the quiz at their own convenience. There are two types of asynchronous activities you can assign:

  1. Self-study assignment: This is a regular asynchronous quiz where participants can complete the activity on their own schedule and without needing to meet any accuracy goals
  2. Compliance training: In this mode, you (as an instructor) can define a 'Compliance Goal' or a minimum level of accuracy to be achieved by your participants.
    1. This will allow participants to reattempt incorrectly answered questions until they meet this Compliance Goal.
    2. Here, you will also be able to set the number of times participants can reattempt incorrectly answered questions.

In both these asynchronous modes, you can set a start time and a deadline for your quiz.

Here are the steps you can follow to host an asynchronous quiz:

  1. Select the quiz you would like to host
  2. Click on the 'Assign Activity' option

  3. Select an asynchronous quiz mode. You can choose between Self-study assignment and Compliance training

You will now be led to the Report for your assigned activity. If you assigned the quiz to your participants via Groups, they will automatically receive a link through which they can join the quiz.

If you did not assign the quiz via Groups, you can share the join code displayed on your Report with your participants. They can then visit https://quizizz.com/pro/join and enter the join code there. Alternatively, you can also share the link displayed below the join code on your Report.

Participants will be able to join the quiz for as long as the join code is active. The Report for your activity will be regularly updated with insights into your participants' responses.

Click on 'End' once all your participants have completed the quiz. Or, allow the quiz to end automatically when the deadline arrives. Once the quiz is complete, your Report will provide you with detailed information on your participants' performance.
