- LnS2004Cypress, California6,228 contributionsBeautiful ParkA visit to this famous urban landmark park was top on our itinerary during our brief trip to Vancouver. Lots of tourists and families visiting on the long holiday weekend when we came. We parked at the big lot next to the Bloedel Conservatory and walked towards the adjacent gardens. The well placed sculptures were quite impressive. The small Quarry Garden was colorful and lush. While the park’s high elevation meant nice panoramic view of the city, it also meant somewhat steep ascent and descent which could be difficult for mobility challenged visitors to navigate. I wish the park could become more disability friend. Better directional signage would help as well.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 23, 2023

It's got lovely gardens and it offers a great view of the city. There were many people having their picnic when we got there. The place also seems to be a favorite spot for wedding pictorials. There's an ample parking space for a pay. We had lots of photos taken both outside and inside the Bloedel Conservatory, located in the park itself.Visited August 2023Traveled with friendsWritten August 12, 2023

- Susan DBexley, Ohio90 contributionsBeautiful GardensThe Queen Elizabeth Gardens are a short Uber ride from downtown and well worth the trip. The gardens were colorful, well-maintained, and unique. It’s very hilly to walk around, but definitely manageable. Views of Vancouver on a clear day are spectacular. The gardens are free and the little conservatory was only $5.20 for seniors. It’s not much…but the rescue birds are cute.Visited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 20, 2023
- Stewarts Vacation1,037 contributionsTake a break in natureA beautiful area to experience nature in the middle of urban Vancouver. Its elevated location on the top of Little Mountain affords panoramic views over the suburbs and across to the mountains. Lawns and benches provide plenty of seating for a rest or a picnic. There are numerous points of interest within the park - Bloedel Conservatory, quarry garden, rose garden, Photo Session (a bronze figurative sculpture of a man photographing three people), clock, Love in the Rain love locks, duck pond, various sculptures and the Dancing Waters Fountain. Unfortunately there was no cafe, only Seasons in the Park - an upmarket restaurant who told us rather aloofly that they do not serve coffees. I'd suggest bringing your own refreshments. Washrooms were available in two locations. The gardens were easy to reach via the Canada Line train to King Edward Station. From there it was about a 10 minute walk (700m) to the Park.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 1, 2024

We come from another city and make a trip to see this park each year. Disappointed with the care or neglect of the rose garden as over grown with grass and weeds in areas. The park lacks color with flower borders as the catus just does not add to the beauty once this park had. The stream is so small, and areas should be cleaned. For a Vancouver city park you have to pay for parking the grounds could and should look better. Yes heat wave, but expected more artistic borders, flowers, plants as it was years before. (Longbeach).

Haven’t been to QE park in some time and was somewhat disappointed. Apparently Covid-19 has impacted the number of staff hired to tend to the gardens this summer. Many areas of the park had not been kept up. Weeds were growing in some gardens, trash in a few other areas, the waterfall/stream wasn’t running and grass wasn’t mowed in some areas. Still though, it’s a gem in the heart of the city with a great view of downtown Vancouver and the north shore mountains. Big upside was you don’t have to pay for walking around the park. Lots of parking available as the parking lot was nearly empty.

Though Stanley Park is (correctly) on the list of must see sites in Vancouver, Queen Elizabeth Park also should not be missed. With beautiful views of the city, gorgeous garden and arboretum, fountain, and such activities as tennis, lawn bowling, and pitch and putt, QE Park has something for everyone.
Indeed, I enjoyed my stroll here more than my visit in nearby VanDusen Botanical Garden. The only downside of my walk in QE Park was that August was a very dry month, and the limited rain was noticeable during my early-September visit. If the Park is this beautiful in dry conditions, however, I can only imagine what it's like after it has rained.

Much less well-known than Stanley Park but definitely worth a visit for an hour or two. I went on a beautiful Spring day. There were some wonderful displays of flowers and nice walks as well as great views of the mountains in the distance. The park is on the site of an old quarry and has been transformed since 1939 when Queen Elizabeth (The Queen Mother) visited. I didn't go in but there is a biodome there I have heard good reports of. A wonderful fountain has jets of water which rise and fall - very soothing and great for kids who can be seen dodging the sprays of water!
It's at the top of a steep incline so I would recommend taking the SkyTrain to King Edward stop and the park is a short distance from there. There's plenty of shade (as well as the cooling fountain) if you're worried about the heat.

Beautiful gardens in Vancouver. Terraced hillsides along with a sunken garden make the scenery spectacular. The gardens are free and there are many free areas to park. Lawn bowling and a putting green also can be found in the park. Wonderful park for exercise and to get some fresh air. Stop by seasons for a memorable meal.

We visited this park for the second time this year, the first time went to Bodel Conservatory and also saw the park. The falls, river (stream), also people were having so much fun at the parking fountains, pictures, weddings ect. This time the Conservatory closed, no water any where, other than small ponds filled with broken branches and leaves. Just appeared so different, no one around gardening, no water fall noise, just so nice but lacking the water falls this park is not the same environment for pictures. Why might I ask? Other tourist also stated this where is the streams of water?. The cactus's and bordering flowers are very nice and great for pictures. I agree with other reviews, grass needed mowing, and trimming, broken brances on a path. Yes pay for parking or get a ticket as attendant was checking plates at the meter. We did the round circle in 1hr. 20 minutes and next year we will see if improved. Longbeach.

We haven't visited QE Park for 10 years. Two weeks ago we met our out of town friends there. First thing we found out, it cost us $ 3.65 per hour for parking. That shows the city desperately needs financial support. Second thing, I wanted to show them the famous Rose Garden. All we found was a dead silent garden that lost all the glamour, beauty and colour, what a disappointment. One thing is the magnificent harbour view, no matter the weather, sunny, rain or cloudy, it's still there for visitors to enjoy!

Wouldn't rate as a top Vancouver attraction but nice if you have an hour or two free. Beautiful rose garden if you're visiting early summer and two sunken gardens which are attractively planted and landscaped. A few interesting statutes and a limited view over the city area.
The park also contains the Bloedel conservatory, which is around 8 CAD to enter and contains exotic plants and lots of different birds, which we enjoyed.

The Canopy Walk is not in Queen Elizabeth Park. It is part of the University of British Columbia's Botanical Garden. While you are at the university, enjoy the Museum of Anthropology!

Hi...how long should I spare time to explore QE park ? And how is QE park on early june ? Thx

Early June is a great time to visit QE Park. It can take as long as you want. Free activities include enjoying the City views, hanging around the water fountains, walking around around the old quarry which is now a beautiful garden, visit the Rose garden (not sure the roses will be there early June though), admire the trees and play tennis (if you have a raquet and balls). There is an admission fee for the Bloedel Conservatory and the mini golf (clubs and balls can be borrowed here). It is close to the Van Dusen garden where you can walk around the gardens too.

Can we see hummingbirds at QE park?
Yes. Anna's Hummingbirds are year-round residents of the entire city, regardless of snow or cold in winter. Rufous Hummingbirds arrive in Vancouver at the end of March, and stay into August. If the hummingbird you see has "apricot" colour on it—orange-ish—then it is a Rufous; not an Anna's. (A couple of other species are very rare here.)
You need not go to QE Park to see hummingbirds, but in May especially it is an ideal place to visit early in the mornings to discover the "fall-out" of migrating warblers from the night before. Highly recommended. Good luck.

Nessa época do ano varia de negativo à 10 ºC, com previsão ainda de neve. Em Vancouver, chove muito, tanto que no Candaná Place tem até um monumento à Chuva. Uma gota azul gigante . Leve capa.
