Psych Engine is a modified HaxeFlixel engine developed by Shadow Mario and Riveren, intended to fix issues of the original engine while keeping it's casual play aspect, and facilitate easier Friday Night Funkin' modding.

- Daddy Dearest's left animation is fixed, and is no longer a single frame
- Adds stage lights that were unused in the base game to the background
- "Dad Battle" uses a spotlight during a certain section, using an event aptly titled "Dadbattle Spotlight"

- Boyfriend and Skid & Pump use their "Hey!" animations, Skid & Pump using animations from the FLA that were unused in the base game

Easter Eggs[]

- Typing "shubs" on the title screen will replace Girlfriend with Yoshubs, sitting on a animal capsule from Sonic Mania. This easter egg is removed as of 0.7.2 and later versions as a result of controversy surrounding them.[1]
- Typing "river" on the title screen will replace Girlfriend with Riveren, sitting on a small television set. In 0.6.3 and older, she sat on a sideways Pepsi soda machine.
