PS5 Restock Update for Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Target, Newegg, Costco and More

PS5 Restock Update for Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Target, Newegg, Costco and More

There has been a bit of an influx in PS5 restocks this week, with the console being temporarily available at multiple outlets.

Not only that but there is at least one merchant that is confirmed to be releasing more units on Thursday.

Here is a breakdown of the PS5 restock situation at every major U.S retailer.

Amazon PS5 Restock

Amazon was selling both the disc and digital edition of the PlayStation 5 in two separate waves on Tuesday, September 21.

The disc units were briefly available from 11 a.m. ET, while the second batch went up around half an hour later. In both instances, sales were reserved exclusively for Amazon Prime customers, which eliminated some of the competition and crucially discouraged scalpers.

Despite it being theoretically easier to add a console to your basket this time, many would-be shoppers still reported that they were unable to place an order. In fact, the consoles appeared to sell out in just under a minute.

Now that the PS5 stock has once again been fully depleted, your only option for getting a next-gen console from Amazon is to track down a second-hand unit from the website. As always, it is worth noting that these are being traded by third-party resellers and will therefore be overpriced.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

According to TechRadar's reputable console tracker, Matt Swider, Best Buy will be selling PS5s on Thursday, September 23.

This will be a rare in-store drop, meaning that you will not be able to place an order for delivery to your house. Instead, you will have to physically line up outside of one of the participating locations.

Swider has indicated that the PlayStation 5 units will only be available at "flagship stores" and will be publishing a comprehensive list of these soon.

To keep abreast of his exclusive reporting, it is probably worth following Swider on Twitter.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

Sony's official storefront also coordinated a PS5 restock on September 21.

Customers had a choice between the disc edition ($499) and the digital edition ($399) of the console. The virtual queue was open to the entire public on this particular occasion - rather than just a handful of randomly selected customers – meaning that the supplies did not last very long.

For timely updates on when the PS Direct virtual queue will next reopen, follow dedicated console trackers like @mattswider and @GYXdeals on Twitter and turn on notifications.

Antonline PS5 Restock

Antonline was last selling a PS5 bundle on Monday, September 20.

Alongside the next-gen system, this package included a compatible media remote, a 3D wireless headset and copies of both MLB The Show 21 and Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut. The entire bundle was listed for the price $769.96.

While this is now out of stock, there are still a few options for getting your hands on the Xbox Series S from Antonline. More information about these deals can be found in our latest restock update for Microsoft's rival hardware.

Newegg PS5 Restock

Today's Newegg shuffle does not feature any PS5 bundles, but there is an assortment of PC components up for grabs.

These lotteries are often your best bet for procuring next-gen consoles, as they are harder for scalpers to exploit. As such, we would recommend that you keep checking the Newegg shuffle page every day to see if a PlayStation 5 is ever available.

While you wait for the contents of the next draw to be unveiled, you can always browse Newegg's website to see if any second-hand PS5s are being offered. As with Amazon, it is worth bearing in mind that any units you find here will be traded by third-party resellers, for a grossly inflated rate.

For example, you can currently find a standalone digital edition PS5 listed for $914.95, which is over double the recommended manufacturer's price.

Walmart PS5 Restock

Seeing as Walmart already restocked last Thursday, trackers are not expecting there to be another drop any time this week.

Generally speaking, Walmart schedules its restocks on a fortnightly basis (usually on Thursdays at 3 p.m. ET) and so we would recommend that you monitor their website around September 30, specifically in the afternoon.

If more concrete information is revealed over the coming days, Newsweek will disseminate it in future updates.

GameStop PS5 Restock

GameStop only just replenished its PS5 inventory on Tuesday, September 14, but the console's availability was incredibly short-lived.

Given how recent that drop was, it is unlikely that GameStop will be releasing Sony's hardware again this week.

Most U.S. outlets restock PS5s on a fortnightly basis, so we would advise that you keep an eye on the merchant's website around Tuesday, September 28.

Target PS5 Restock

The last time that Target restocked on PS5s was Friday, September 10.

There is no word yet on when the next drop might occur (there is no consistent day of the week for Target), but the merchant usually releases its supplies between 7 a.m. ET and 8 a.m. ET.

To help you keep ahead of the crowds, Newsweek will continue to monitor the situation.
