PS5 Restock Update for Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Newegg, Target, GameStop and More

PS5 Restock Update for Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Newegg, Target, GameStop and More

PS5 restocks have become increasingly rare over the past couple of weeks, but you can track down Sony's elusive hardware if you are clued up on the latest information.

With that said, here is a breakdown of the current restock situation for every major U.S retailer.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy was last selling PlayStation 5 units over a month ago and so is long overdue for another restock.

While details on when this might occur are sketchy (as there is no confirmed date or time), we can at least narrow it down a little.

Best Buy does not have consistent restock dates, but it has never listed new PS5 units on a weekend. In addition to this, they do not tend to coordinate drops in the evening or anytime before 9:30 a.m. ET.

This might not be much to go by, but it does give you a rough idea of when you should be anticipating the next restock (between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays).

As always, Newsweek will continue to monitor the situation to see if any more concrete information is revealed in the near future.

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart has not restocked on PS5s since August 26.

This is unusual, given that the retailer normally coordinates its drops on a fortnightly basis. As such, it is certainly overdue for its next one.

Walmart usually releases its next-gen consoles on Thursdays at 3 p.m. ET, so make sure that you are keeping an eye on their website tomorrow afternoon (September 16).

Target PS5 Restock

Target only just restocked this past Friday (September 10), so it is unlikely that they will be gearing up for another drop anytime soon.

As noted by reliable console tracker Matt Swider, while Target does not always restock on the same day of the week, the timing is usually consistent. Specifically, the retailer's drops will often fall somewhere between 7 a.m. ET and 8 a.m. ET.

As such, we advise that you keep a lookout for any surprise Target announcements in the early hours of the morning.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

Sony's official storefront was recently selling PS5s to select customers only.

To be eligible for this particular drop, you had to receive an email from PS Direct ahead of time. This served as an invitation to join the virtual queue and without it, you would simply be unable to make a purchase.

To find out when the PS Direct queue will open for everybody else, keep checking Newsweek's regular updates.

GameStop PS5 Restock

As we predicted in our last update, GameStop did restock on PS5 units this week.

The drop occurred at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday 14 September and the supplies have now been depleted. As such, it will be at least another couple of weeks before the merchant has any next-gen consoles in stock again.

Newegg PS5 Restock

There are no PS5 bundles featured in today's Newegg shuffle but, as per usual, there are a few gaming PC components on offer. It is always worth checking these daily lottery draws, as they can be one of the best sources for getting next-gen consoles.

You can also browse Newegg's website to see if there are any second-hand units up for grabs. However, seeing as they are traded by third-party scalpers, these are guaranteed to be extremely overpriced. In fact, it is not unheard of for used PS5s to reach costs of over $1,000 at Newegg.

Amazon PS5 Restock

Throughout 2021, Amazon has been restocking its PS5 inventory on a near-monthly basis.

Given that the marketplace has already released a batch of units in September, it is unlikely that there will be another drop now until the beginning of October.

While you wait for the next official restock, you can still browse the website for second-hand units. However, much like at Newegg, these will be traded at an inflated cost. For instance, there is currently a used PS5 listed on Amazon for $989.99.

Antonline PS5 Restock

While the PS5 is not in stock at Antonline, there are a number of bundles featuring the Xbox Series S up for grabs.

If you are in the market for Microsoft's less-powerful console, then make sure to read Newsweek's latest Xbox restock update for more details.

Sam's Club Restock

Neither the disc nor digital edition of the PS5 is available form Sam's Club right now. When the merchant eventually restocks, console trackers like @mattswider and @GYXdeals will inform their followers on Twitter.

Costco PS5 Restock

At the time of writing, Costco is not selling PS5 units either. The outlet's inventory has not been replenished for a long time and console trackers are unable to predict when this might change.

In the unlikely event that Costco does restock over the coming days, make sure that you are already following @mattswider and @GYXdeals so that you can be updated right away.
