10 Craft Ideas To Do With Christmas Stocking Coloring Pages
Here are 10 affordable, fun, and creative craft ideas you can do with your completed coloring page!
10. Christmas Tree Ornaments
To turn my Christmas stocking coloring pages into tree ornaments, you will have to shrink down the illustrations a bit before you print them off.
However, that does mean that you can print multiples of each on one page!
Have your kids color in the stockings in any way that they choose, and then laminate the stockings.
Once they’re laminated, you’re going to punch a hole in the top and string ribbon through, making a loop and tying it off.
The loop can then be used to hang the stockings on your Christmas tree!
9. Classroom Stockings
If you’re a teacher and you’d like to get the students crafting, have them make Christmas (or holiday) stockings with my coloring pages.
Print off the stocking you’d like them to use and have them color it in as they want, then cut it out.
Then they’re going to put that cut-out down on a piece of construction paper and trace around it, then cut that out.
To affix the back to the front, you can use staples, or if you’re feeling extra crafty, have them sew the pieces together using big needles and yarn.
What they’re left with is a cute paper stocking that they can then hang from their desks – and be surprised with candy the next day!
8. Wall Decorations
If your walls are looking a little bare this Christmas, you can liven them up with my stockings pages.
This would be a great craft for your kids to flex their creativity, or you can create sophisticated, patterned stockings.
What about buffalo plaid or a candy theme or grey on white? The only limit is your imagination.
7. Christmas Party Decorations
My Christmas stocking pages are perfect for creating décor for a Christmas party, and you can even get the little ones in on the coloring action.
You can stick with solid colors in the traditional green or red, or do plaid, checks, flowers, or even draw Santa or a snowman onto the stockings.
Create bunting by looping three or four stockings together with string.
Or follow my instructions for the classroom Christmas stockings and make goody bags that people can fill with candy and take home with them.
6. What I Want For Christmas Lists
To practice their writing, whether print or cursive, kids can color the stockings in and then scrawl onto them with black marker what they would like Santa to bring them.
You might need to make the image a bit larger before printing in order to accommodate the kids’ writing.
5. Mosaics
For a fun and pretty take on “coloring in” my Christmas stockings, have your kids place small bits of construction paper strategically within the lines to create mosaics.
You’ll need lots of paper scraps and glue, but you can spend a fun afternoon creating colorful stockings that would look great on a fridge or on a wall.
4. Stocking Sun Catchers
For this craft, you will need clear contact paper and tissue paper.
You’re going to take two pieces of contact paper and place them over the stocking coloring page of your choice.
You’ll trace the stocking you want to use, first on one sheet and then on the other.
On the first contact sheet, you’ll paste small, irregular bits of different colored tissue paper (you can use red and green or go really colorful) within the lines.
There’s no need to be perfect, as you can trim it down after. You’ll then cut out the stocking shape.
Then you’ll cut out the other stocking and place it over the first to protect it.
Then you can just tape the stockings up on the window and let the beautiful wintery sunshine stream through.
3. Button And Pom Pom Stockings
You’ll need a variety of buttons and craft pom poms to make these stockings.
Have your kids color in the stockings using markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Then you’ll get the glue out and have them glue white craft pom poms to the top of the stocking.
Then they can glue on as many or as few buttons as they want.
The end result is a unique stocking design that’s as different as each kid’s.
