Hi,

my partner and I will be visiting Podyjí , Hruboskalské skalní město, Mumlava Falls & Prague. We will be staying in Prague for 6 days and the rest hiking/exploring at the 3 places mentioned above. We are traveling by car, with our 2 large dogs.

We have already paid our stay there and all road tolls, so our costs would be souvenirs, attractions, public transport and food. How much should we plan for costs per day (in CZK) to be comfortable (meaning that we don't need to be careful where to eat and what to order)?

Also, are there any special rules/laws regarding dogs that we should be aware of? Are they generally well accepted at restaurants/cafes?

Thank you all for your responses. Looking forward to seeing this beautiful country.

Hi well it depends. In Prague you should take for 2 ppl you can calculate one lunch and dinnet 1200-1500 czk + attractions 400 czk + transport 400 czk + safe money 500 czk. So in my point of view you can calculate 2500 czk per day (this is the highest rate, you can take probably less). Just be careful for money exchange in prague, they can be fraud.

With the dogs people are OK. just some of them will need the muzzle. In cafes and restaurants its ok to have a dog. Just be carefull: some cafes are cats cafes :)

Hope this will help you

Thank you so much!

We know about the ATM scams, we lost a lot of money that way last time we visited. :( That's why we plan to only pay with card or in cash and not withdraw any money while we are there.

For dogs I believe I read that they only need a muzzle on trains and metro. We will have them with us so no worries. Thank you again for your answer :)

welcome,

im not sure where you come from, but in general and where i come from and have been to, the rule of thumb is to use your credit card for as much as you can and then supplement with cash.

things like souvenirs and food can be relative due to who is buying and how big their eyes are compared tot their bank account.

Attractions and transportation can be looked up online if you care to. DO you know at the top of each destination board is a "things to do and see"?

https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g274707-Activities-Prague_Bohemia.html

But you can look at the link if you want and see if there are any attractions you wish to visit and any associated entrance fees. YOu may want to also look at any open/close days/times too.

good luck

Ema..if you haven't seen the videos.. there are a lot of great tips on Prague/Czech on Youtube called Honest Guide.. affordable meals, money exchange, sightseeing etc.

If you do need to change money, there are good places.. for example, the first class window at the train station can exchange money or here https://www.exchange.cz/

You can eat pretty cheaply, I think 2500kc is a bit high for a daily allowance.

FYI, a lot of the corner shops are Russian souvenirs and nothing to do with Czech.

find Czech specific shops like Manufaktura,
