Porter Airlines World Porter rejected promised refund for additional flight costs. 948537442 Porter flight PD670 from SFO to YYZ, departing the evening of March 3 was delayed by Porter and rerouted to Ottawa, landing March 4 at 2:00 am. The delay was caused by Porter (delayed inbound aircraft, baggage loading delays, undefined further wait time, inability to push back from the gate, late arrival in YYZ, refusal to land after hours, etc.) Porter would only book me on a flight from Ottawa to Toronto to complete my trip on March 4 if I paid the additional full fare of $717.69 for PD2206 to Toronto Island. I was told I would receive a refund of this full amount. I booked and paid the $717.69 on my VISA directly with Porter in Ottawa. However, 6 weeks after filing Porter's online request for compensation on March 4, I was offered total compensation of $125.00. I had requested reimbursement of my out of pocket $717.69 (as promised by the Porter Ottawa agent who sold me the ticket for flight PD2206) plus additional compensation for Porter's 11 hour delay. Unfortunately, Porter Customer Service is NOT accessible except by email, which triggers a new 30 business day response timeframe. The Porter WhatsApp contact is not a legitimate Porter link. The WhatsApp agent tries to get you to fill out an App (Remitly) to send them your personal contact info. Money was going to be remitted to me through Kenya! DO NOT USE WhatsApp to try to communicate with Porter Customer Service! A big part of the problem is Porter’s lower status with YYZ and SFO airports.
