Woman who married a convict she met on dating site Plenty of Fish reveals he proposed to her in JAIL without a ring - leaving her to buy her own for just $2 - and they even tied the knot in prison

A woman who married her convict husband while he was in prison has revealed her plans to have a bigger second wedding after having to buy her own engagement ring, but her family is less than thrilled with the union.  

Jessica and Maurice from Las Vegas, Nevada, are just one of seven couples who will be documenting the ups and downs of their relationship post-prison on the upcoming third season of We TV's reality series Love After Lockup. 

'Maurice and I come from two different worlds,' Jessica says in the trailer for the new season, which premieres on Friday, July 17.

The blonde was immediately smitten with Maurice when she came across his profile on the dating site Plenty of Fish, but she didn't realize what she was getting herself into. 

'I actually met Maurice on a dating website, and I was like, "Oh, no. He's in prison,' she says of her husband, who was serving time for first-degree burglary.

They had only been dating for three months when he got down on one knee and proposed in prison — without a ring. After saying yes, she bought her own ring for just $2. 

While they already said 'I do' in a prison ceremony, Jessica wants to have a more elaborate wedding with their family and friends, though not everyone is on board.

Protective: Jessica's parents aren't supportive of the relationship, and her dad points out that she doesn't really 'know this guy' 

'You really don't know this guy,' her father tells her in the trailer. 

'I'm not going to let anybody hurt my daughter,' he explains in his testimonial.

The couple is also seen fighting at a restaurant following Maurice's release from prison, seemingly about their future plans. 

'F**k tomorrow,' Maurice tells Jessica. 'You're either going to be with me or against me.'  

Shawn and Destinie, who are also from Las Vegas, quickly fell for each other when they met online. They started talking twice a day while she was in prison — but they've never actually seen each other in person.

John, who is from Cresco, Iowa, was love-struck when he connected with his convict girlfriend Kristianna online, but he may be moving too fast.  

He is planning a surprise wedding ceremony on the day of her release — without her knowledge.

Meanwhile, Scott, 51, uprooted his life in New York to move to Mississippi to be with his much-younger love Lindsey, 27, who was serving time for possession of drugs and a firearm. 

'I've never met Lindsey in person,' he admits, but that hasn't stopped him from financially supporting the former cheerleader and honor student. 

'Before I started selling drugs, I had a few older boyfriends — because they were rich,' says Lindsey, who may be using her beau for his money.

Scott plans to move Lindsey and her daughter into the dream home he is renovating to her specifications, even though it's not entirely clear if she will even be able to stay out of trouble.

Scott and Lindsey aren't the only couple on the show with a massive age difference. Tyrice, who is nearly 50, was immediately smitten with his much-younger love Chandra. 

The Chicago-native was fed up with women playing games when he met the 28-year-old on a website for prison pen pals.

'The first time I saw Chanda's picture, I said, "Damn, I'm gonna tear that a** up,"' he recalls of his first encounter with the curvaceous blonde.

He is looking to settle down with Chandra when she is released in prison, but it's unclear if she is on the same page. 

And while Tyrice's three adult children are happy he has found love, they don't trust the convict he fell for online. 

'She's 28 years old. She's gonna use my daddy for his money,' his son tells him during an argument.  

'Do I look like I'd let a motherf****r use me?' Tyrice hits back.  

Meanwhile, Shavel, who is from Olathe, Kansas, was seeking companionship during his 12-year sentence for armed robbery when he met Quaylon.

However, he is unaware that Quaylon's family firmly disapproves of their relationship and expects him to return to Texas while he is on probation. 

Footage shows one of Quaylon's loved ones can be yelling at her for buying her convict beau a car.

The trailer also features Heather, who opens up about how difficult it has been to be away from her love Dylan. 

'Walking away from him every week for five years has been so hard,' she says, but Dylan's release from prison comes with its own set of problems.
