Fight to own Britain's biggest mega-mansion: An oligarch whose daughter-in-law is 'too pretty to work' is trying to see off an ex-colleague who says a verbal agreement entitles him to £300m pad in London. DOMINIC MIDGLEY explains the very ugly court battle
When Britain's biggest private house, a mega-mansion called Witanhurst on Highgate Hill in north London , went on the market in 2008, it was close to a ruin. The roof was riddled with leaks, the floorboards were warped and cornices embellished with gold leaf were blighted by mould. Given that this 90,000 sq ft property had a total of 65 rooms - including 25 bedrooms - and a ballroom 70ft long and 20ft high, with an elaborate ceiling that takes six months to paint, it amounted to the country's ultimate doer-upper.
EXCLUSIVEREBECCA ENGLISH: One year on, a low-key Coronation anniversary for King Charles... but will he meet Harry this week?
Pomp and pageantry reigned at his Coronation one year ago. But, after a whirlwind 12 months, it's understandable King Charles would prefer much less fanfare this time around. The King will celebrate the first anniversary of his Coronation today in low-key style with close friends at Windsor. Even his wife, Queen Camilla, is unlikely to be present as she is with her own family at her private Wiltshire home, Ray Mill House. It is understood that His Majesty wishes to mark the day 'in his mother's mould' with very little fuss, as his accession is so intrinsically bound with the sad loss of Queen Elizabeth. But it is still unknown whether he will meet with his youngest son, Prince Harry , when he flies into London this week.

We will raise the voice of Palestine. Allahu Akbar!' But the newly-elected politician has become shrouded in further controversy after comments from his TikTok account were unearthed from October 8 - the day after Hamas' terrorist attack which killed 1,600 and took 250 hostage. Instead of condemning the attacks, Mr Ali instead labelled Israel 'white supremacists'. The campaigner, who also runs a gardening YouTube channel with his wife and three children, said: 'The latest round of hostilities started when Hamas fighters started fighting back against Israeli occupation.
EXCLUSIVEMigrant who killed his ex with a skewer in front of her children should have been kicked out of the UK TWENTY years ago
A murder victim's family have told of their fury after discovering her killer was an illegal immigrant who should have been deported 20 years ago. Zimbabwe-born Obert Moyo, 46, had been able to stay in this country despite three previous attacks on women. He was jailed for life last week with a minimum term of 27 years for stabbing his former partner Perseverance Ncube, 35, through the heart with a foot-long meat skewer in front of her children aged ten and 12. As he was sentenced, it emerged that jealous Moyo had overstayed on his visa in the early 2000s and went on to commit crimes against women prior to the murder in Salford. Ms Ncube was an Avon lady known as Percy. Her sister Christine Chiriseri, 28, said the family only discovered the killer was an illegal immigrant after his arrest.

It comes months after he refused to leave property, which has 30 rooms and is though to be worth £30million, and promised King Charles he would take care of its expensive repairs - despite having no apparent source of income.

EXCLUSIVEDoes my bottom look big in this? Good! M&S launches its £15 padded pants tomorrow. JULIA LAWRENCE put them to the test... and found they made her 50-something bum look decades younger
Along with a good proportion of honest women beyond a certain age, I'm always on the lookout for a cheeky new way to turn back time. Miracle, ion-charged, peptide boosting, correction serum with Vitamin K-infused goji berries and bee venom? Oh yes, slap it on. I'll give anything a go. Apparently, we still-vain and solvent 50-somethings spend thousands every year propping up the Anti-Ageing Industry (worth nearly £50 billion globally), in the pursuit of something that will hoick that, smooth this and disguise both this and that, thereby fooling the world into thinking we've completed considerably fewer circuits of the sun than we actually have.

Meghan who? The 'dear friends' of the Duchess who claim they 'don't really know' her - despite her gushing about their bond
A-lister pals the Duchess of Sussex (left) has gushed about aren't always so vocal in their affections back. In fact, some have at times visibly downplayed their bond with the former Suits star. Most recently, Justin Trudeau 's ex wife Sophie (inset with Meghan in 2016) - who Meghan had dubbed a 'dear friend' - appeared to pour cold water over the relationship. Speaking to The Times , the former First Lady of Canada said: 'I know her... but we haven't spent much time together.' It's not the first time there appeared to be a disconnect between the royal and her connections. George and Amal Clooney (left) reportedly quipped that they 'don't know' the Sussexes while attending their royal wedding, whereas Fergie (centre) - mother of Prince Harry's cousins Beatrice and Eugenie - claimed she 'hasn't really met' her.

Out of the 12 studio albums The Beatles recorded, there was one their fans greeted without the usual joy and wonder but with a mixture of disappointment and dread. That was Let It Be, released in 1970. The title was a phrase used by parents in Liverpool to calm quarrelsome or fractious children. It seemed tacit confirmation of the widespread rumour that the world's most beloved pop band was imploding. The album had initially been named after Paul McCartney's song Get Back, reflecting The Beatles' wish to return to a simpler, more 'honest' style after electronically embroidered tracks like Paul's Penny Lane or John's Tomorrow Never Knows.
