I've had multiple accounts on Plenty of Fish, and with each new boyfriend or fling I would delete my account, then remake when they invariably failed. From doing so so often, I have been banned from making accounts on PoF, so anytime I try it just gets automatically deleted. I was hoping that someone else has had this problem and has gotten around it, or just knows how to fix it?
I have tried a proxy server -- well, many -- but they all ended up making it so my IP was outside of my country, so I couldn't sign up because the site doesn't allow you to sign up in a different country (I am in Canada). I did try contacting PoF and explaining the situation to them, but they just sent me back a generic "your account is banned and all future ones will be deleted" e-mail".
I don't think I can change my IP in the right way to bypass this, so I was just hoping someone could give me some tips on being able to sign up to PoF again. (I just want to flirt with cute boys! Is it so much to ask?!)

You have a couple of choices. You could use a proxy with an IP address in Canada. Or you can change your IP address using the methods outlined on this site. Here's the link to the instructions on this site: http://whatismyipaddress.com/change-ip

I've tried proxies, none of them work, I still can't sign up. even with Canadian proxies, the registering page comes up with some bullshit thing like "there's illegal characters in your username" or something. And someone told me that changing my IP like going into the router and doing it won't change anything for signing up on sites.

I think you're SOL, I have the same problem with another forum and i've tried everything. I think we either need to buy a new computer/router/modem...i'm not exactly sure... they have some pretty sophisticated technology to keep you out and i've spent hours researching how to get around it and fail every time. You need to try creating an account on another computer/network but i'm not sure if you would get banned as soon as you access it from your current one?

I tried making one on a different computer but they've "banned my location", so basically as long as I'm on this router...

Re: Banned from Plenty of Fish
There's your answer...you need a new router/modem as they probably know the mac address. Maybe try cellular if you have a data plan and iphone or whatever. Otherwise you're limited to another wifi signal somewhere. Maybe contact the POF admin and plead you case that you used the site successfully, and that your circumstances changed, and you are back on it which is the purpose of the site to begin with. Not sure why they would ban you for that? I've done that many times as well without issue, but that was back in the day on the old version of the site. Furthermore, there is MUCH better out there than POF! lol That site is crrrrrap!

POF-lovers
if POF uses Javascripts AND cookies for a) registering, b) accessing its site and it's smart you are totally lost -regardless of VPN or Proxy you use. If I'm the "guarder" of POF you have only one choice to fool me when you throw your computer away, buy a brandnew one and change your ISP
So, don't dream of a way to cheat a site when you're in love with it

Re: Banned from Plenty of Fish
Here's a little FYI if they banned you by location then they banned your ISP even if you change modems it's pointless since most modems are rented out to the customer from either your cable or phone company. And they can only change your modem ip your router ip is only good for use with iPhones or laptops . Has the admin of a forum my self I do check ip addys and email addys if I ban your ip its for life . PoF must have global moderators who do the account checking they also could have your email addy listed has a wildcard in the ban dept same can be done with ip addys. Also if PoF use cookies your screwed because even if you try a different puter the cookies they use can still tell them your the same person .
