I’ve ordered from Plenty of Fish several times, being a Vegetarian I trusted their “vegetarian/vegan” section on their menu to be cooking the ingredients separately from the fish. My partner went to collect our food we ordered online and once there was told that the...Vegan fryer was broken (no contact what so ever from POF, so we drove a 30min round trip for nothing not even an sufficient apology). My partner then told them we couldn’t accept the order as I am unable to eat cross contaminated food. The staff working there then informed my partner that they normally cook the halloumi in the fish fryer anyway. Therefor NOT vegetarian. Labelling something Vegetarian is NOT ok if it is being cross contaminated, I have eaten your halloumi fritters several times and I’m absolutely angered at the fact your staff were so dismissive that the vegetarian food is being cooked in the fish fryer. Completely unacceptable. If you’re a Vegetarian/Vegan I DO NOT recommend this place. I also tried to call them to discuss the matter but the phone constantly rang through, extremely poor customer service.More

Called 1.50pm today for lightly battered fish chips and peas.. chips not very hot and mine were mostly scraps and left overs from the bottom of the warming tray. New mushy pea portions half what they used to be. The fish photo attached was disgusting...refried dried up chewy in edible. Had I lived nearer I would have taken them back. This used to be our favourite chippy but now going to Mother Hubbards until this take away chippy van sorts itself out from the recent flood. Mobile ban managed to get flooded? Why! 1 star or less.More

Used to be really good unfortunately not anymore. Prices have increased fair enough they have done everywhere but why has the quality gone down. Got Large Fish (Hadock) and Chips & Big beef and chips for lunch time treat. Fish was equivalent of Small or...even mini fish, very thin inside the batter.Chips with burger were tiny portion for £1.75. Although we ordered when opening @ 11.30 chips were hard and cold considering just opened up. Very dissapointed.More

The fish was thin and weedy compared to others we’ve had. The peas were not mushy but a solid tasteless lump. Fish and chips looked a similar colour which looked artificial. They didn’t even have any tartare sauce to help it down!Won’t go again .

Little van parked in the community centre car park. Ordered fish n chips curry sauce , all I can say is that they were amazing. The best fish n chips I’ve had in ages.

We went to get fish and chips, the fish was delicious. light crispy batter, but the chips were a huge disapointment, we had to throw half of them away as they were black. We also had to wait a lot longer than the 5 mins...we wer told for our order. Not sure will go back gain, if we do it will only be for the fish.More

Nice and convenient and good for parking but we have had better fish and chips. To say it was cooked fresh to order the batter was soggy and the fish quite mushy. Didnt get the drink and toy with the kids meal either.More

After several nice batches of chips from here, tonight’s were absolutely disgusting. They tasted like they had had something else in the fryer with them, goodness knows what - sausage maybe? Tasted slightly meat like but my partner described the chips as being like “they...had been fried in a bin”. . We had to brow them all away. To make it worse, woman serving us was half eating herself- grabbing bites from a burrito/wrap/kebab type thing as she served. This was about 4.45pm. Maybe cause it was a wet Tuesday they couldn’t be bothered putting some effort in but I won’t be back for a long time as I bought for 3 people and it’s a lot of money to throw away.More

I was really looking forward to my chippy tea on Sunday. Plenty of Fish and Chips made me lose my appetite. The fish was freshly cooked but less than average quality, lots of batter, but thin, wet fish. The chips were definitely not fresh, they...had been reheated (or kept warm for a long time) and were stale and hard. Most of my tea ended up in the bin. Not impressed, not returning.More

Been here many times always lovely until tonight 20th July… 1. Uncooked chips literally raw all the way through ! 2. Fish was off , smelt off and inedible 3. and was not the normal fresh battered type it was some sort of pre-battered cheap...nonsense To be fair i rang in the feedback and was offered a full refund but why serve this in the first place ?More

I've been getting delivery's for approx a year, the 1st few were good on time and nice.Then they started.being late and the food not so good. My last order was for cheese an onion pasty chips an peas, 30 mns late no explanation or apology..., the pasty was very small and mostly potato not cheese, but the chips were worse rock hard inedible, they cannot have been fresh.More

Cooked fresh while you wait. Great quality fish Friendly staff. Social distancing measures. Recovered quickly from recent floods and now feeding people through lockdown.
