Alvin H. Hoffmann, Stevens Point, 88, passed away with his children by his side on Monday, February 1, 2021.

Alvin was born on June 29, 1932 to Edwin and Ruth (Sigmund) Hoffmann in Rib Falls.  He married Rosemarie Seehafer on November 9, 1957 and together they raised seven children.  She preceded him in death on April 11, 1988.  He then married Ramona Gavin on December 2, 1989.  She preceded him in death on June 10, 2007.

Alvin was drafted into the Army in December, 1952 and was initially stationed in Germany.  He was then deployed to Korea but while enroute there via ship, the war ended.  He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal/Army of Occupation Medal prior to leaving the Army in November, 1954.

Survivors include dear friend Emilee Studinski, Stevens Point; and his seven children:  Greg (Mary) Hoffmann, Weston; Grace (John Molling) Klopotek, Weston; Lori (Roy) Kukuczka, Stratford; Mary (Bob) Fochs, Mosinee; Della Zoromski, Weston; Allen Hoffmann, Marathon; and Jon (Cindy Lee) Hoffmann, Mosinee.  He is further survived by fifteen grandchildren: Adam Hoffmann, Amy (Jim) Dobbe, Krissy Hoffmann, CeCe Klopotek, Blaine Klopotek, Megan (Devin) Dregne, Robert (Nicole) Kukuczka, Katie Kukuczka, Zach Fochs, Casey (Marissa) Narlock, Shannon (John) Newman, Amanda Schell, Cody Hoffmann, Whitney Hoffmann, and Mason Hoffmann; and twelve great grandchildren.  His three surviving siblings include: Lawrence (Joann) Hoffmann, Earl Hoffmann, and Edna Scheel.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Mroczenski.

Alvin worked for a short time at Marathon Electric before purchasing a dairy farm in the town of Hewitt, which he operated for over 30 years.  He loved farming even with the long hours and hard work.  He could often be found out in the fields harvesting hay, in the barn milking cows, or in the shed fixing equipment.  He believed in the merits of hard work and those traits were passed onto his children.

His favorite past times included watching the Green Bay Packers, snowmobiling, motorcycling, hunting, and polka dancing, which he did into his seventies. He remained an avid fisherman into his eighties. Additionally, he fulfilled a desire to learn how to fly, and soloed his first flight of a single engine aircraft at age 75.  He and Emilee often attended church picnics, Sunday polka events, and family gatherings.

The family would like to thank the staff at Willow Brook Point Senior Living in Stevens Point and Riverview Hospital ICU in Wisconsin Rapids for the wonderful care given to our father.
