Has anyone heard a PF song that is like a collage of riffs from different songs?

I heard while I was out. Sounded like a later stage Floyd song, very polished, maybe only played live? Definitely had that Gilmour sound as it began like Run Like Hell but quickly spiraled into its own rhythm with a Wall sounding beat and different parts of earlier songs spontaneously emerging.

Hell, it could’ve been a tribute band for all I know but I’ve been scouring the inter web and I can’t find it. Is there anybody out there who knows this song? It’s driving me mad.

Wow that was cool... It's like getting a quick The Wall fix during a short smoke break.

That is it, thank you. Is that part of a live album?

They played this on The Wall tour to give the crew a few extra minutes to build the wall on stage. If you listen to different bootlegs from the tour, the song varied in length depending on how much time they needed to fill. It’s one of the last improvisational moments from the classic lineup. Roger played it on his Wall tour as well in a more scripted version

nice! Sure is. It was an official release titled "Is There Anybody Out There".

This was my first thought as well.

This is good. I would also recommend finding a video of Roger’s band doing it with the amazing visuals. So awesome to see it live.

Woah that was cool idk if I’ve heard that before!

Check out the album "The Floydian Propulsion Project" 2003 by Pink Floyd Floydhead. It's my Floyd reset when I want some P.F. but not all the way. There are MANY subtle samplings of Floyd songs shoved into every song. Any Floyd fan will find themselves naming the songs/album the snippets came from, also I like the EDM kick in there.

It’s not on Spotify. Are they on any streaming service?

Apple Music I’ve found

If memory serves me correctly it was on Qobuz. It is a hard one to find though. It wasn't super popular but I like it. I have it on CD.

The only song I can think of off the bat is Speak to Me since it’s like an overture for Dark Side of the Moon

I know what you mean, but the song I’m thinking of has like 15 different riffs and beats from other songs. And I can’t find it on any album

I've been mad for fucking years, absolutely years

Dweezle Zappa did a cover of Run Like Hell and during the solo he threw in riffs from other songs on the Wall.

I feel like some Roger solo stuff steps pretty darn close to PF original songs

As a tangent, the Run Like Hell riff which spawned the Last Few Bricks was the stepchild of the closing riff from Sheep, from Short and Sweet from his 1st solo album and I'm sure elsewhere. It popped up in bars of live versions of Murder as well. It was a Gilmour musical trope from the mid 70's thru early 80's.

Nice

Was it something from The Endless River? That’s essentially what that album is, a bunch of sections of songs that got developed into other songs or left on the editing room floor.

It might be; I haven’t gone through that album all the way yet. I keep falling asleep

This isn’t the question but the guitar and vibe of the verses in money is a slight ripoff of green onions. David even admitted it.
