EXCLUSIVE: From Penthouse to Prison: How Broadway star Pia Zadora's racy pictures are a far cry from her arrest for 'choking' her teenage son

It is a far cry from the bedraggled mugshot taken by cops following her recent arrest for allegedly choking her teenage son.

Aged 28, singer and actress Pia Zadora stripped off for Penthouse magazine in a patriotic shoot photographed by magazine publisher Bob Guccione.

Mom-of-three Pia stepped in front of the camera in October 1983 and nearly all of the photos up for auction were never published. And the pictures, which see Pia - now 59 – posing nude except for a well-placed Stars and Stripes scarf – are going up for auction as part of https://filthy.media/

Oh say you can see! Pia Zadora gives a cheeky salute to the camera while posing for Penthouse.

It is all a million miles away from the image of the tired-looking blonde who was hauled in by cops last month after being arrested on suspicion of domestic battery after allegedly choking her young son at her Las Vegas home.

The ordeal ended with a SWAT team swarming the house when the family refused to give details of the domestic disturbance.

Pia is is said to have been arguing with her 16-year-old son Jordan when he refused to go to bed early, according to TMZ.

She is then believed to have hosed Jordan and his stepbrother down when they refused to come inside, he told police.

The actress then allegedly attacked him by punching and scratching his face.

When Jordan tried to call 911, his mother then tried to choke him and take the phone away, he claimed.

But when police arrived at the home, the whole family refused to tell the authorities what had happened.

Pia was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and released after posting $4,000 bail.

Jordan suffers from the social development disorder autism, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

While his step-brother Michael Jeffries has already been charged with murder after shooting his best friend Eric Allen Gore in October 2011.

Jeffries' murder trial is set for November.

After working as a child actress on Broadway, Pia appeared in various movies in the early 1980s, winning the Golden Globe for new star of the year in 1981 after her performance in Butterfly

However, her career never lived up to its early promise, as she later claimed: ‘They [Hollywood industry] may resent somebody infringing on their territory which is a natural thing. You don't come out of nowhere and win a Golden Globe!’

‘If I were a struggling little actress who won, they'd say, “Oh come on, sweetheart. You won! Great!” and I'd be part of their clique. But no. They don't have that power over me; I'm not at their mercy. That may be what they resent.’

Other films were bigger commercial successes, including Hairspray, Troop Beverly Hills and Naked Gun.

From there, Pia's film career dwindled and she has spent much of her time since singing popular theatre standards.

Mommy, dearest: Pia Zadora with daughter Kady and sons Kristofer and Jordan.

Her early days on Broadway - she was Bielke in the original 1964 Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof - and her self-titled album, however, won plaudits and she toured as the opening act for Frank Sinatra in 1990.

Pia is as well known for her for her personal life as her career.

She first married multi-millionaire businessman Meshulam Riklis in 1977 - when she was just 23 and he was 54.

The couple divorced in 1993 after having two children together, Kady and Kristofer.

Pia's second husband was writer-director Jonathan Kaufer.

They were married from August 1995 to November 2001, and had one child, Jordan Maxwell Kaufer.

She has been married to Michael Jeffries, a detective with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, since 2005.

The couple met after Pia contacted the Las Vegas Police to report a stalking incident.

Businessman Jeremy Frommer, who bought the bulk of the Guccione estate, told MailOnline: 'The pictures are hot , but I wouldnt be surprised if Meshulam Riklis bought her way into penthouse.

'Usually we find documents that relate to the transaction for posing nude in penthouse, in this case there was no "payment made" notation.'

The auction begins tomorrow at 5pm on eBay  https://filthy.media/
