Rollover crash in Phoenix sends 5 to hospital, including pregnant woman

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Five people, including a pregnant woman, went to the hospital after a 2-vehicle collision in Phoenix Tuesday afternoon. According to the Phoenix Police Department, crews responded to a crash involving a red sedan and a red SUV at 43rd Avenue and Baseline Road around 1:30 p.m. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, and one of the vehicles rolled after the collision.

1 dead, 1 airlifted to hospital after plane crash at Gila Bend Airport

GILA BEND, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- One person is dead and another is seriously hurt following a plane crash near Gila Bend Airport Tuesday morning. According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the crash near the runway of the airport. MCSO said two people were on the plane. One person died at the scene, and the other person was thrown from the plane during the crash. That person was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Deputies have not identified the people on the plane.

Body of man who may have drowned in Salt River is recovered

PHOENIX (AP) — Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say the body of a man who may have drowned in the Salt River last weekend has been recovered. They say the man was swimming with friends near Water Users Recreation Site in Tonto Basin around 2 p.m. Sunday and went under the water and never resurfaced.

Friends fondly recall animal rescue volunteer killed in freeway crash

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS5) -- Friends are remembering a local animal rescue volunteer, they say, was killed in a freeway crash over the weekend. Traci Cook, a team leader with Humane Animal Rescue and Trapping Team (HARTT) says she learned Saturday night her friend, Adrienne Ayala, was killed in a car accident. Cook says she last saw Ayala when she came over Saturday afternoon to exchange some equipment.
