What travelers are saying
- Aimee P12 contributionsSo many beautiful cactus gardens and fun butterfly house. Has the cutest gift shop too to buy plant-related items and plants.Written April 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CydLeeDuluth, MN11 contributionsMy husband and I excitedly visited the MIM on a weekday afternoon to learn about musical traditions around the world. Our enthusiasm was diminished a bit by MIM greeter who said it was obvious we were first timers that did not allow enough time for the museum. Perhaps the museum should not sell tickets beyond 2 p.m. then? We enjoyed three hours of MIM’s many galleries of impressive instrument collections and relevant/inspiring videos with corresponding summaries. We especially enjoyed the Artist and Experience galleries on the main level. The MIM experience deepens our appreciation for those who have and continue to make music possible.Written April 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paige FSaint Paul, MN3 contributionsBeautiful art work! The tour guides are really nice and know so much about the pieces. With admission you can be apart of a short tour of the main area at certain times. Please jump on those guided tours! Mine was so informative and I learned so much. Plus every tour guide does it a little different so you'll learn something new from different people. It's a great time. Don't forget to check out the contemporary art and the different floors. It's big place so it might be easy to miss something. The exhibit on the residential schools was extremely sad but super important history to know and understand.Written April 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - annikaBaltimore, MD5 contributionsStunning view but only for experienced hikers! We were very excited to climb camelback mountain but soon realized that the hike is extremely difficult. Not all sources online really say, that you do need some kind of experience and you should be in good shape in order to successfully climb the mountain. We saw many people on the side of the trail having heat strokes or just heat exhaustion, because many of them underestimated the hike. It is extremely steep and it’s more climbing than hiking.
The parking situation is very frustrating. Not enough parking opportunities for all the people visiting. We ended up parking at the Marriotts Resort parking lot and walked 15 min to the trailhead.Written April 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Interesting history but the hole in the rock was nothing spectacular.Written April 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laurie KWest Seneca, NY719 contributionsMy husband and I were in town for vacation so we decided to get tickets for the baseball game. I ordered them right from the box office and they were cheaper than stub hub, or vivid seats which was weird, not as many fees. We also went online to purchase a parking spot which was only $20 which was pretty cheap for a bigger city. We parked 2 blocks away which was fine as it was a day game.
I was so excited I was going to get to soak in the sun for 3+ hours and enjoy the day and the game…..NOT, the information guy told me they usually only have the roof open for night games and if it is going to be open it will be open before anyone arrives at the stadium for game time. He said most day games get too hot inside the stadium with the roof open, so I understood.
We had great seats on the first baseline, but people are ignorant…..our section was playing musical chairs and they were more interested in visiting with friends getting up moving around going to get food etc than in the game so we moved over 2 sections sat in the last row, had a way better view and the fans near us watched the game……
The stadium is very nice, super clean great choice of food and beverages and we liked the live DJ pre- game. We had a good time was a decent game even though the Dbacks lost.
Would recommend if in the area and you love the game of baseballWritten April 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anita WPhoenix, AZ3 contributionsMy kids love this area, great walking trails, beautiful scenery. Phoenix native speaking here. There is horse back riding for all ages, we especially enjoy the Perl Charles trail while riding. - Julie DVancouver885 contributionsThis museum is very impressive with 4 large rooms of fire department items starting with the oldest engines all the way up to the newest ones. They even have an engine which was involved in 9/11. There is also a large kids area. Great for parents who would like to look around on their own. It is quite a ways out from downtown Phoenix so plan for it. We took 1 1/2 hours to go through it, but you could take a lot longer.Written February 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MelvinPusfingerTemecula, CA615 contributionsThis is not one of the top ranked zoos in the United States. Not quite in the same league as the San Diego zoo.
Nevertheless, if you are looking for a very enjoyable day for the family, this is a great place to go for a family. Children younger than 15 will particularly enjoy it.
An adult ticket cost $38 and a child is $28. So a family of five could run to approximately $170. Nevertheless, this is an all day activity and significantly cheaper than Disneyland. And you will get a great deal of exercise walking around the zoo. This is a very spacious zoo and you get to cover a great deal of territory.
They was a pretty good assortment of animals here. Three lions, a leopard, at least one elephant, and plenty of monkeys. There was also a rhino and camels.
Speaking of camels, the camel ride is very popular. Eight dollars per person but the kids will really enjoy it.
There is a shut to take you around the zoo, but that will cost you extra. At least eight dollars.
Free parking are not too far from the entrance. The gift shop is OK but nothing to write home about.
All in all a very enjoyable experience. A very good family activity if you live in or are visiting Phoenix or nearby, Scottsdale.Written April 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of information about the history of Barbie and many displays. There was even a life sized Barbie car for photo ops!Written April 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - amoraceMinneapolis, MN952 contributionsGreat climb, all types of people climbing it. It’s not a trail walk, but a climb at times. It progressively gets harder, but very worth doing. Know your limits and go as far as you can. Awesome views on every cornerWritten December 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
