They’re back, Jack! The fourth season of A&E’s hit reality show Duck Dynasty premieres Wednesday, promising plenty of new hilarious backwoods adventures with the First Family of duck hunting.

Paraderecently caught up with the Robertsons at their home in West Monroe, La., and spent some quality time with Willie, Phil, Si, and the rest of the Duck Dynasty clan.

In this new exclusive outtake from Parade’s chat with Phil Robertson, the Duck Dynasty star talks about his rustic upbringing, his future on the show, and staying humble despite his fame.

On his humble beginnings.
“We were so poor as kids. I didn’t even see a bathtub, running water, hot water, commode--we didn’t have any of that. We started with a humble log house, milk cow, garden-raised our own food, killed a hog every year in the fall, and had the meat hanging up in the smokehouse—that was our childhood, me and ol' Si. If you had pulled in there in the 1950s, you would’ve said it was the 1850s. It looked like we were living 100 years before.”

On his close relationship with his younger brother Si.
“We’ve been running together since we were little kids, and we’re still running together!”

On not letting the fame go to his family’s heads.
“If you know who you are before you get into something like this, you’ll recognize yourself on the other end of it. But if you don’t, well--our greatest fear is me and Willie start acting like Charlie Sheen!”

On how long he’ll stay in front of the camera.
“Not long. No. My kids talked me into doing the show. They said ‘Dad, the opportunity doesn’t come along too often, so why don’t you try it for a few years?’ But I think the show will go on without me. They don’t have to have me.”

Season 4 of Duck Dynasty premieres Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 9/8c on A&E. Check out this exclusive behind-the-scenes video from Parade'Duck Dynasty cover shoot:
