Favorite Quotes from Dr. Phil

“We all have a social mask, right? We put it on, we go out, put our best foot forward, our best image. But behind that social mask is a personal truth, what we really, really believe about who we are and what we’re capable of.” – Dr. Phil

“You have got to decide, look, this is who I am; this is my best way to present myself, and I’m going to ride that horse to the finish line. Not everybody will like it, but that’s OK.” – Dr. Phil

“If your neighbor has a completely different view on abortion, gay marriage, stem cell research, all of those things, you still are both Americans. Neither one of you is necessarily more patriotic than the other. Neither loves their country any more than the other one does.” – Dr. Phil

“Well, let me tell you if you’re 45, had three children and are post-menopausal, you’re not going to weigh what you did the day you graduated from high school. Get that out of your head. That’s a media-driven ideal that you’re never going to healthfully obtain.” – Dr. Phil

“I mean, look, teachers don’t do their job for the money, obviously, because we pay them ridiculously little amounts for what they put in. Most of them come out of their own pocket for materials and things to help the children and all that.” – Dr. Phil

3 Strong Lessons from Dr. Phil

Now that you know all about Dr. Phil’s net worth, and how he achieved success; let’s take a look at some of the best and important lessons we can learn from him:

1. You either get it, or you don’t.

Strategy: Become one of those who gets it. It’s easy to tell these people apart. Those who “get it” understand how things work and have a strategy to create the results they want. Those who don’t are stumbling along looking puzzled, and can be found complaining that they never seem to get a break.

2. You Create Your Own Experience

Strategy: Acknowledge and accept accountability for your life. Understand your role in creating results. You cannot dodge responsibility for how and why your life is the way it is.

If you don’t like your job, you are accountable and if you are overweight, you are accountable. If you are not happy, you are accountable. You are creating the situations you are in and the emotions that flow from those situations.

3. People Do What Works

Strategy: Identify the payoffs that drive your behavior and that of others. Even the most destructive behaviors have a payoff. If you did not perceive the behavior in question to generate some value to you, you would not do it. If you want to stop behaving in a certain way, you’ve got to stop “paying yourself off” for doing it.

Introduction

As of May 2024, Melvin Ingram’s net worth is $40 Million.

Melvin Ingram is an American football defensive end who is currently a free agent.

Ingram played college football for the University of South Carolina and earned All-American honors.

He was selected by the Chargers in the first round with the 18th overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Early Life

Melvin Ingram III was born on the 26th of April, 1989, in Hamlet, North Carolina.

Ingram attended Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham, North Carolina. As a senior linebacker, he recorded 87 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Ingram played his college football in South Carolina, where he was a consensus All-American and was named first-team All-SEC in 2011.

Career

Like Stephon Gilmore, Melvin Ingram started his collegiate career at the University of South Carolina, where he was a linebacker and defensive end for the Gamecocks.

He played for South Carolina from 2007 to 2011, and during his junior year, he led his team with nine sacks.

His strong senior year performance propelled the Gamecocks’ defense to #4 in the national rankings, and he was named to the first-team All-SEC.

After his final year with South Carolina, Ingram declared himself for the NFL Draft and entered the professional leagues.

The Los Angeles Chargers

In the 2012 NFL Draft, Melvin Ingram was selected 18th overall in the first round by the San Diego Chargers, who later moved to Los Angeles.

During his rookie year, he earned 18 quarterback pressures, the second most on his team, after playing in every game with two starts.

However, in May 2013, he tore a ligament during a team activity and was expected to miss the entire season due to the injury.

Fortunately, he was able to come back in Week 16 and sacked Matt McGloin before finishing the season strong.

Ingram was well on his way to becoming one of the highest-paid athletes in the world and one of the best linebackers in the NFL.

A Titan Of The Gridiron

In February 2017, the Chargers, one of the richest NFL teams, placed a franchise tag on Melvin Ingram and designated him a free agent.

However, in July, Ingram signed a four-year contract with the Chargers for $66 million and $42 million guaranteed, which was substantial.

That same year, he earned the AFC Defensive Player of the Month title in September, recording 5.5 sacks, including three against the Chiefs.

After ending the season with 56 combined tackles and ten sacks, Ingram was invited to his first-ever Pro Bowl, replacing Joey Bosa, his teammate.

A Super Bowl Prediction

Before starting the 2018 NFL season, Melvin Ingram predicted a Super Bowl LIII Win for the Chargers, stating he had to speak their success into existence.

Unfortunately, the Chargers failed to make the Super Bowl after losing to the eventual champs, the New England Patriots, during the playoffs.

The following year, Ingram tried the same strategy, predicting that the Chargers would go to Super Bowl LIV, though this didn’t work out either.

That season, the Chargers didn’t even make the playoffs, having posted a 5-11 record that set them behind at the end.

However, like Akiem Hicks the year before, in September 2020, Ingram injured his knee and was placed on reserve.

While he was activated in November, he was back on the injured reserve list with another knee injury that ended his season.

Steelers, Chiefs, And Dolphins

In July 2021, Melvin Ingram signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, joining Ben Roethlisberger for a solid season.

However, Ingram only spent one season with the Steelers before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a sixth-round Draft pick.

While his season started slow, Ingram helped the Chiefs reach their fourth straight conference championship, though they lost to the Bengals.

Ingram was signed to the Miami Dolphins in May 2022, and with him, they made the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

The following season, he was signed to the Dolphins practice squad and has been called up to play in many of their games.

Favorite Quotes from Melvin Ingram

“I would think the same thing if I was a real musician and I hit me. But my music speaks for itself.” – Melvin Ingram

“There’s definitely a different vibe because San Diego is more of a touristy place. Our game field is kind of in LA so it’s more up-tempo. LA went from two years ago not having any football teams to two so I feel like it’ll be hyped.” – Melvin Ingram

“We’d go out to eat, go to the mall, and people used to be like “Why are you’ll doing this? I’ve been supporting you.” But I’m just here to play football. I don’t make the decisions upstairs.” – Melvin Ingram

“I expect more up-tempo and more accountability type of coaching staff. We’re holding them accountable and they’re holding us accountable. It’s all in-house. Good coaches make good players. Good players make good coaches. I feel like it’s going to be more of a winning attitude. Before, we had like more of a military school [attitude]. Now I think it’s going to be more of a “let’s get it done” attitude.” – Melvin Ingram

Introduction

As of May 2024, Kirk Cousins’ net worth is estimated to be roughly $120 Million.

Kirk Cousins is an American football quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL.

Cousins played college football at Michigan State from 2009 to 2011 and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Early Life

Kirk Daniel Cousins was born on the 19th of August, 1988, in Illinois.

Cousins is the son of Don Cousins, a senior pastor at Discovery Church in Orlando, Florida, and Maryann Cousins.

Cousins attended Holland Christian High School in Holland, Michigan, where he starred in football, baseball (as a third baseman and a pitcher), and basketball for the Maroons athletic teams.

Career

After becoming a high school football star, Kirk Cousins was redshirted for the 2007 season at Michigan State, where he played for the Spartans.

In 2009, he won the starting quarterback position and led the Spartans to a 6-7 season with 19 touchdowns and 2,680 passing yards.

The following year, he played in the first-ever Big Ten Football Championship Game and led the Conference in pass completions, attempts, and passing yards.

Cousins ended up winning the 2011 Lowes’s Senior CLASS Award and, after majoring in kinesiology, he graduated and declared for the NFL Draft.

Like many of the richest NFL players, he quickly had some of the most prominent teams in the NFL vying to get him for themselves.

The Washington Redskins

Kirk Cousins was selected by the Washington Redskins as the seventh choice in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Cousins was seen as an insurance policy, in case the Redskins’ quarterback Robbert Griffin III was injured or put out of commission.

In May, he signed a four-year contract with the team, and in the second preseason game, he threw three touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Due to his skills, he was named the backup quarterback over Rex Grossman, the incumbent starter at the time.

The same year, he became the third Redskins rookie to be voted the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week, behind Griffin and Alfred Morris.

He finished with a 10-6 record and went on to the 2013 season as the starting quarterback after Giffin was deactivated for the season.

The following season, Cousins and Trent Williams helped the Redskins improve their record, with the team finishing 4-12, up from 3-13.

Becoming A Starter

In August 2015, Kirk Cousins was named the starter for the upcoming season over Griffin, and he quickly stepped up to the plate.

By October, he helped the Redskins have their biggest comeback win in franchise history, beating the Buccaneers with a touchdown pass to Jordan Reed with seconds left.

At the end of the season, Cousins was named the PFWA Most Improved Player, having set the Redskins single-season passing yards record with 4,166.

2016 saw the Redskins place a non-exclusive franchise tag on Cousins, which acted as a one-year $20 million contract.

While he missed the playoffs, he led the team to a winning record of 8-7-1 and finished third behind Drew Brees and Matt Ryan in passing yards.

Because of his performance, he was named to his first Pro Bowl, replacing Matt Ryan who was appearing in Super Bowl LI.

Cousins then spent one more season with the Redskins, becoming the first quarterback in history to be franchise-tagged for two consecutive years.

The Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins signed with the Minnesota Vikings in March 2018 for $84 million, the highest-paying contract in NFL history.

He debuted in the season opener and finished his first season strong with 4,298 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

The 2019 season saw him named to his second Pro Bowl before signing a $66 million contract extension with the Vikings.

Cousins kept up the momentum for the 2020 season, and made his third Pro Bowl the following year, even after refusing a COVID vaccine.

In March 2022, he signed a one-year extension for $35 million guaranteed, and he helped the Vikings have the biggest comeback in NFL history.

The Vikings released Adam Thielen in March 2023 and while things started well, in October Cousins suffered an Achilles injury.

This effectively ended his season early, and he has remained on the injured reserve list with Josh Dobbs taking over as quarterback.

“A great example of a guy like me. At times people tell me just go have fun, and I’m thinking, ‘I have the weight of the world on my shoulders and I have to deliver.’ If anything I take it too seriously and I have to remind myself that seriousness is not a virtue.” – Kirk Cousins
